Pardon but you seem to not relize you are clearly putting words into the OPs mouth and that is very much against this forums rules. You nor anyone else gets to say what the intent behind the post is. The poster is clear in their reason being about diversity so that those wanting to just have more attacks have that as an option and those wanting more defensive tools have that option. Because you see kick as a throw away power your position that it is a power tax is just that a personal view and not a fact. many take kick, slot kick, and use kick as part of their active attack cycle. My melee peace bringer for an example.

Prometheus isnt a god, he is a titan. a big difference. And that is only in our myths. In CoH lore they are all just natural spirits that feed off humanities latent psychic energy. Its the lets call it The Will of Existence aka well of furies that bestows power as such. The olympian project is just a cloning thing in CoH. The power is in the body not the spirit. One thing you say taht I do find an interesting idea. instead of a build up/rage ability something more akin to the dual pistols elemental toggles on a otherwise phsyical melee set could be a nifty concept. Perhaps have the chosen energy change 2ndary effects the base attack could be SS with KB as typical, going fire would remove the KB and add a dot, Lightning could add a a strong stun effect, etc.

Actually lovecrafts characters fearing the unknown was just mirroring his own fears, including those highly motivated by bigotry and racial prejudice. His Story "The facts concerning the late Arthur German" highlights how in his mind finding yourself to be of less then a pure racial ancestry is worthy of self immolation. Ironically we now know today that all of us carry a measure of neanderthal DNA and that ancient humans bred with and ate our early rival cousin species. I wonder how ol Howard would take that discovery. I tend to rather then focus on the they barely survived or kept their sanity aspect as an atypical early writer exploring PTSD in a time when such trauma was barely discussed because it was seen as being cowardly and unmanly to be affected in such a manner. The fact is no matter who we are, the only people not deeply traumatized by such are sociopaths and psychopaths whose minds are basically the only ones predisposed towards such horror. Oh and the Last samurai is not a pure work of fiction. Its based granted rather dramatically on the events surrounding Jules Brunet a french soldier that was sent to train japanese soldiers in modern warfare, and chose to ignore orders and stay to side with those he trained to resist further imperialistic invasion by western powers. Now I doubt he went all samurai sword master, but he was considered a very skilled french soldier so likely was damn handy with a sword, and it wouldnt be unheard of for him to of been adept in french foot fighting aka Savat as many french soldiers then and now do train in it. Lovecraft stated many times his stories largely came from his own imagination, heavily inspired by horror stories his grandfather would tell him as a child. He suffered from night terrors and sleep paralysis, the spiders, rats, roaches, and other creatures that would crawl on him while he was unable to move fueled a mind with terror he learned to vent by putting pen to paper. Considering his very strict christian upbringing early on, its doubtful he was allowed anywhere near books on pagan gods and the myths surrounding them. Nor do all of his protagonists break mentally, His german officer in The Temple chooses to meet his end stoically. The main character in the Shunned House while suffering a personal loss in the death of their uncle in no way is described as having been broken mentally but instead seems to stay calm and collected after the tragedy when dealing with the aftermath. And the old Doctor in the case of charles dexter ward while he does get badly shaken at one point in the story gets himself under control and in the end bravely faces and defeats the ancient enemy that he has uncovered the truth of. Not every one in his stories becomes a gibbering madman nor dies tragically. Likely thats why the Case of Charles Dexter Ward is my favorite of his stories, this is perhaps because the old Doctor is based more on his beloved grandfather then himself, its typically those characters that seem to resemble the author that break mentally the most often in stories.

Jerry Siegel tends to be seen more as the 2nd fiddle of the duo that created Supes. Partly because Shuster was the artist and for some reason in comics the writer tends to be the behind the scenes man to the fans moreso then the artist from what ive noticed over the years. One of the things these two nerdy young men at the time had in common was a love of the various weird and strange mags. They both would be called lovecraftians today and the first draft of superman the evil mad scientist was based a fair bit on Herbert West of lovecrafts reanimator series. Siegel was also however a huge ERB fan. Its been said his bookshelves in his home had copies of every ERB novel published. Some people do not seem to appreciate that basically the first to really popular supermen of the modern age are ERBs Tarzan and John Carter. One of the things I was disgusted by when the John Carter movie came out a few years ago was how many reviewers called it a superman rip off, showing their ignorance willfully as they clearly had no idea of the history of ERBs characters. Neither of supermans creators are known to have had any interest in greek/roman mythology( unlike Statesman's creator who was a student of greek mythology in college) and it doesnt take much imagination to read the origins of tarzan and john carter and notice just how much of superman's own origin can be seen in them. Tarzan has parents who give everything of themselves to give his early life a fighting chance, he is then adopted by a loving foster mother who risks everything to raise this strange outsider among her people( Tarzan was not raised by gorillas but by what ERB calls Great Apes which are far more like sasquatch or yeti in their proto human behavior including drumming and ceremony surrounding ritual combat) Basically a story of a superior being( a human) being raised by lesser proto humans. Tarzan by adulthood is not merely a powerful human, he is stronger then any animal in the jungle excluding the elephant, though due to his innate charisma he alone is described as being able to with his call bring even a stampede of elephants to a standstill. Both John Carter and Tarzan are atypically smart. Tarzan teaches himself to read and write english before he ever meets another human and learns to speak, using books he finds in his parents hut. John Carter learns the martian language through observation while traveling with the green tribe in a matter of weeks. It wasnt until Superman become a tool of anti nazi propaganda during the war time that using him as a heroic ideal to challenge the nazi eugenics ideal became part of the superman story. So yes I will argue all day long we owe ERB and Lovecraft the most for the modern age of sci/fi and fantasy adventure comics then we do the greek myths. The concept of why society creates such things is however comparable. There is something in us that craves an ultimate avenger that can stamp out evil fearlessly and stand against even the biggest of monsters and win.

Uhm it had nothing to do with that actually. It was far more to due with honoring the death of the creators father who died trying to prevent a robbery, and the costume and appearance of superman was based largely on the circus Strong Men, that the creator had fond memories of seeing with his father as a child. While Superman didnt appear in the comics until after the rise of the Nazi. He had been created many years prior. And the actual first draft created prior to the death of his father, was a mad scientist type with an abnormally large head, that was more in the vein of the tales of the weird and strange mags of the era. And the eye and hair color of superman, along with his powers ( he didnt have many of the powers we associate with him today) were directly inspired by the character of John Carter in the ERB novels. Super Strong, Super jumping, Basically superman was the opposite origin of john carter, a son from another world come to ours and gain strange powers. John Carter is a mortal man that on mars had super human abilities due to the lower gravity.

Well it stands to reason if it was an EAT tied to praetoria people would have to begin in praetoria to play one just like how you cant create a peacebringer in praetoria to begin with. I am not opposed personally as I have nothing against praetoria and frankly want more people to take the time to enjoy it as the superior starting option. So yeah Im all for an Olympian that would use the coolest punch animations for melee attacks, a few cool beam rifle style blasts from the eyes, I think the 2ndary should be a blend of will power, invuln, and regen though the wht from which would certainly take some fine tune tweaking. The resistance could be something like a new blaster esque style, maybe a blend of beam rifle and assault rifle for the primary, and dual pistols/traps/devices/ heck maybe even a touch of MM with a few resistance allies. Id love to see one with like all the different grenade powers in the game as a single power set as another possible example.

Yeah lets see bitching about game balance, talking about pvp like it matters or should ever be relevant, basically insulting our beloved game and its creation left and right. Thinking some ATs should be denied access to some pools. Oh and forgetting every power does have a cost, its called a power slot. We only get to pick so many powers. Oh and Any tank that needs pool powers to tank is a bad tank build pure and simple. Every Tank gets so much protection from their primary that they should be building for offense with every set bonus and pool pick so they can actually kick enough ass to be worth a party slot. Pure tank tankers are about as useful and fun to play as pure healing empaths. Sure a tiny fraction of MMO communities do claim to like them( about 5% typically based on various metrics MMOs have released over the years. But by and large for people to want to be tanks, they also need to be able to hit hard enough to have fun when solo and feel like their DPS does matter in teams so they dont feel like all they are is meat shields. Same goes for healers. The bring your own heal movement that was started in both CoH back on live and in DDO by the cleric players more thena decade ago shows that even those who can heal, want to have that role be 2ndary to the role of kicking ass and taking names. Oh and the fact you think primary and 2ndarys all need to be basically the same in numbers tells me you lack a fundamental understanding of the nature of the power sets in CoH. Some sets are supposed to compliment others better. A dark SR scrapper for example was by design the original solo AV scrapper. Thats why Power Proliferation is indeed something they are most wary of. Some combos are too good. Hence why no tank regen for now. Archery in general has always been a problem child. Between weapon draw and being physical dmg it was sub par from inception, trick arrow was basically the only viable partner for it for defenders, and was also more for flavor then impact. basically it was a entire power set tax for the sake of playing an archer even if it meant never being in the same league as GM killing offenders. And soloing GMs isnt about min maxxing, its about being a hero concept on par with those from the comics who challenge the biggest and baddest on their own because that is what a hero does.
-
In the future if your going to quote me, quote the entire statement not selective editing it to try and make it seem other then what I said. Nor have you any idea what kind of gamer I am. I am first and foremost a role player, and very far from a min maxxer. Sure I build to make sure all my powers feel fun and effective and avoid taking powers I cant invest slots into etc. And I am not the one here who is describing the powers and a power tax that demands the power be crappy to justify a higher tier one being decent. Nor are the ancillary pools( note they are no longer called epic pools and in fact are not supposed to actually be numerically superior to the other pools, they are supposed to just like all other pool powers be somewhat weaker then primary/2ndary counterparts. That doesnt mean they are in any way supposed to have powers that are numerically so inferior that few if any ever bother to make use of them. They are supposed to be decent enough to be worthwhile in builds lacking similar powers in their core power sets. Nor are set bonuses in anyway something that should or need be factored into the end result. hence why weave and tough are not deemed OP, because even though yes with sets they can add a strong layer of protection to a build, the game is not ever to be balanced around those set bonuses. So once we accept that when we remove sets from the equation the ideas being suggested here dont in themselves lead to some game breaking OP ubermensch that would make the 5th column wet themselves, those decrying it as such should be able to accept the reality. on their own none of these suggestions lead to any new height of power for the current top end builds. My god like blasters and scrappers certainly wont care about them. My Brutes and stalkers neither. Maybe some of my more flavorful concepts that I still like to get into the fray with like a kinetic defender that wants to be in the thick of it fighting like the tsoo martial arts/kinetics users do for example would love pools that let me make something similar to that villain mob. But lets be honest what people like you really fear is support AT toons like my defender example choosing more pool abilities and ignoring the effect ally only powers. Because those would be the most likely AT/builds to use such pool attacks and defenses. Not like that matters, you wont ever break the Offenders. We rule, we solo GMs and those who seek to bind us down as only support will continue to nash and want anything that lets ATs break out of their ROLE nerfed or denied to us because you want us as your good little support slave nanny wiping up after you. The fact HC just radically improved Invisibility while keeping stealth useful shows the HC team understands that there should not be throw away powers.
-
Why should any power pick be seen as needing an inherent disadvantage. The idea of a power tax or a bad power no one uses being a req for useful powers is absurd. EVERY POWER should feel fun and effective and be worth taking. Any power currently seen as bad, a waste, a power tax for better powers etc needs to be the top priority to be improved. I for one like the basic idea of the OP of this thread. Sure it could sue fine tuning, tweaking, and that is best left to the HC devs who have the data to decide how strong or weak a given ability is. Personally I love the fighting pool for its attacks, and find the addition of cross punch makes having all 3 attacks even on various melee AT fun and useful additions. My biggest issue the lame animation of kick Id love something abit more flashy. Frankly I think the fighting pool should be turned into street justice-lite with all the fun combo and changing animations, and this new defense pool concept should indeed be a blend of super reflexes -lite, and invuln-lite. Plenty of people who take a defense set with a clicky mex power want a toggle they can access why not a weaker but still viable toggle mez protection, or better yet 3 defense toggles each with a mez they protect from, and a physical dmg and res dmg toggle also each with a mez effect they help protect. Yes it would be very toggle heavy, and require building sets with endurance recovery and power cost reduction as a focus to help manage all the new end drain such abilities would cause, but would give those wanting options, that exact thing more options.
-
There is plenty of challenge for them. There are many players that even with a fully decked out character cant come anywhere near +4X8 solo. A great many powerset combos do not have the inherent synergy to push into such extreme challenge. A great many players even with the best possible build simply do not have the timing and understanding of the mechanics of their and the mobs abilities to do things like solo AVs let alone GMs. Superman is the iconic living god of comics, His greatest fight was one on one with Doomsday. Doomsday was certainly a GM class foe. I really get tired of all these we need more challenge posts when its questionable if they can even build such a character on their own without a build guide, and play it effectively enough to defeat such powerful mobs one on one.
-
Funny enough the fact is especially if speed is the goal smaller teams make TFs easier as long as you have the stopping power for the end AV. I find the sweet spot is around 3-4 man teams. a good trio will shred through content so fast its almost absurd. And I dont just mean post 50. want to make something like a synapse or moonfire feel less mind numbing go in with a small team that can all stealth. Even the kill alls wont feel that bad because the mob size will be so small as to allow everyone to just spread out and clear their own areas on the kill alls in a very timely manner.

Look at what your saying here, your basically making a broad attack on all of those who actually are using AE for its stated intended purpose. Are there plenty of stories that are not as interesting as the best done ones in game? Sure but there are also plenty of weak tea stories in the game itself including many that while over all well done due to heavy handed pigeon holed dialogue options tend to put off plenty from casual immersion players to hard core RPers like meself. You keep saying we are trying to ruin other peoples fun. What about the fun had by we who use AE the way its meant to be used, who have our fun ruined because we cant use that system without feeling like we are being punished because when its used and played like normal content it rewards so little as to basically be as if we turned off all rewards. While it over rewards those who abuse and exploit it to the point even the best speed running TF players in the game cant earn enough in non AE content to compare. Thats the issue with AE atm. It either over rewards to those who dont deserve it, or rewards so little as to make it feel insulting to those who play with it, in the spirit it was intended to be played with. But you and my little fan club of regular haters can keep making the veiled insults and gang up attacks. It wont change the fact that while I am always careful to be as civil as possible and rarely call anyone out, you and your ilk continue to be hostile to those whom you deem as the enemy. And what I meant by well established was simply that I have clearly made myself out to be first and foremost a role player and feel that story driven content and those who play through it rather then speed through it should be the ones to feel the most rewarded. BTW here is the bone Id toss to speed runners. Id like to see an NPC like in the ski chalet that keeps the best times for ski runs in the city that does the same for TFs. So that those who are indeed the best at running content the fastest would see their names spead in game for all to see not just to the forum lurkers.

Ok lets look at AE and why people use it. 1. Content creators/players looking for fresh adventures( the intended player population for AE) 2. PLvers/XP farmers: mainly a self centered form of farming that does not help the community at large unlike loot drop farmers. Easily removed from AE to reduce trite xp farm maps by simply adding a instant lvl 50 option. And as I said I dont care if its gated behind having 1 fifty already, as I also say the price of auto 50 is needing an alt to be able to fund/supply it. Do people who want to XP famr /PL really not just want this as an option? 3. Loot Farmers. As Ive said I dont have much of an issue with loot farmers aside from the fact more mundane content should be more rewarding. As Ive previously said add random reward merit drops to saved citizens on the street. Streamline reward merits from content based on time in content because we shouldnt really be incentivizing speed/meta gaming over any other type nor rewarding the ATs that can clear content faster more then those ATs that struggle to clear content. The only way to do that is to reward time in content first and foremost. Yes this hurts speed runners aka content locusts who by and large tend to have tons of self inflicted burn out and tend to leave games faster then any other gamer type. So yes my goal is to see reward merits become something even non TF speed runners aquire in a fair and timely fashion, and see PLVers simply not need to spend time running content they dont even really want to be running for whatever reason. Speed runner types can still speed run for the challenge/bragging rights, just not for the rewards that being over powered for the content your burning through unjustly gives as it conflicts with the risk vs reward and time investment vs reward systems that are generally seen as the most fair in games. Going back to the godfather of RPGs D&D those who go right for the throat of the quest often miss out on the best rewards and xp which are often in side quests and optional encounters that if skipped by will result in far less reward to the party then the group that manages to find and do everything the adventure has to offer. I honestly cant see why anyone but speed runner content locusts who favor getting rewarded far too much for far too little would be opposed to this.

Everything else sucks compared to AE farming
Llewellyn Blackwell replied to Weylin's topic in General Discussion
Why not just do the sewer run then and get the temp buffs? I usually first street sweep for a few fast levels to have a few powers, jump in the sewer shiite to get the accuracy buff which will take away all the hassle of accuracy slotting till good IO bonuses can be grabbed around lvl 17. Then heck run TFs and arcs for merits. I just dont see the need for PL farming for the low level range you mention. And see PL farms as one of the reasons for why people who want to have AE for actual fun content have meaningful reward XP cant have it. Because that is the crux of it all. Because of the sheer numbers reward wise farmers are raking in xp and drops it means they have to keep the base reward so low as to make it basically content you only run for fun and no gain for a content player rather then a content locust. That is what the content locust; speed runners cant seem to grasp. People who dont want to speed through content still want their time to feel rewarded no less then those who play purely for rewards. But we also want to enjoy the content, have interesting stories to play through and break up the same ol same ol of the vanilla content. As it stands now the rewards still are way above avg for the farmers while way too little for the game players. This is why I bring up the idea of rewards based on actual time investment in content. While also supporting auto fifty for those who are just plain ol tired of the leveling game. As far as I see making it so be it an hour ona tf or an hour inside 1 mission that you struggle through its still being in the game, playing the game. And really an hour playing is an hour playing. Bloody hell Id even make it so when you street sweep and save a citizen from a mugging they have a small chance to reward you with a single merit. Why? Because its still playing the game, still being a hero in the city. -

Sorry but what? On Live the best method was to just buy LOTG specials with merits and sell them on the ah for inf. It wasnt any dif then what we do now on HC except maybe a wee bit faster because of the new E Con and E Cat market. Still even a casual weekend player who only did a TF or a few story arcs a weekend could full trick out a character in a few months. I mean purple sets are great and all but it really isnt like you need them to push a build into pretty extreme power levels. In fact they tend to be most favored by regular exemplar players because of their sets bonuses staying active. If your one of those never exemp once you cap types you really dont need anything above SOs because incarnate abilities are so very potent and allow even a very bad build with the most basic slotting to hold their own in just about all lvl 45-50 content with ease. The fact you even mention an exploit a real legit game harming exploit as a positive really does not help or position but actually casts a negative light on what kind of gamer you are. -
Please Give Us the Option To Remove This...

I wasnt arguing that bit at all, my thought would be that it could just be seen as an advancement in the tech. I mean sure maybe Recluse is so arrogant as to demand them to wear them out in the open 247. But I assumed that frankly they could be retracted during sleep even way back when. IMO if they could make them more like weapons and be drawn out that should appease those who want them off for RP while basically saying FU to those who want the power but not the look. Though to be fair, its really no dif then khelds having to use their forms for certain powers. thought that isnt what it once was now that warshades can get fly in human form. -

My bigger gripe was always with the inability to pick alternate claw options on widows. I get the widow specific uniform uses their issued claws. but for other outfits it seems od that weapon appearance customization is locked out on them. As for the spider back pack, well plenty of examples now days of characters like Iron Man with his armor basically able to magical girl style appear on him. So having the backpack upgraded to being nanotech and able to hide within ones body when not in combat doesnt seem unreasonable. Im not saying it would be hidden all the time but like a weapon could be drawn out. -
You really dont pay attention to who is doing the posting for what if you think that. Im pretty well established as a hard core role player first and foremost here. I love playing through TFs and certain story arcs time and time again. However there is also a fair bit of content story arcs included that due to some poor design choices is far more of a PITA then it is worth to hassle with to experience the story. I can just by playing the game on HC max a character ina couple days no farming or PLVing required. decking out the build takes more time but I approach that by the fact my main who regularly runs certain content related to his lore based origin makes that content always fun to play through. Always easy merits to earn fast while playing in a fun and frenetic style. I suggest an instant fifty option purely to try to remove PLVers from the AE and thus experience farms from the AE. I suggest dynamic merit rewards based on time in content as a way to remove content locusts who speed run everything to death. Farmers as Ive said actually do contribute to the over all community so they shouldnt be seen as something to reign in. That to me is the subtle layers that people are not seeing. We have 3 factions and 1 of them is fine but being lumped in with the two problem children. XP farms hurt the community, speed running content constantly hurts the community. loot farming to sell on the AH helps the community. I want AE first and foremost for Content creators seeking to expand the game world. Who wish to create interesting stories to share with the community just as was the sole intent of it by the devs in the first place. removing the xp farms and by making rewards directly based on how much time one is inside content will break the knees on content locusts. If all content rewarded merits based directly on time inside the content lets say 1 merit every 2 minutes, then everyone could play whatever content they want and be rewarded at a rate that even a casual player should have plenty to deck out a character once it hits fifty by playing content. And yes the hidden tax or price of an auto 50 option would be youd have to still be able to afford to set it out from your alts. I think we can all agree and brand new player or recent returnee with no established characters yet doesnt need to be auto 50ing and if they did should rightfully find themselves feeling nearly helpless lacking the funds to twink the character.

The Nictus Invasion...
Llewellyn Blackwell replied to SeraphimKensai's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Why would the council help fight the nictus, the council is ruled by the nictus. Aside from that honestly imo we could just use the nictus threat as the true big bad of the game. We know from the path of the dark they have been intent on earth for a very long time. Imagine how easy it would be to create new nicti units by simply taking all the old enemies and adding various nicti abilities to them. Imagine Rikti mentalists possessed by nicti for example. Hell imagine how terrifying it would be if sally suddenly became a host to a power nicti in croatoa now a rampaging monster of darkness spamming dark tentacles that cover a vast area, that breathes a cone of darkness comparable to a judgement nuke etc. The fact is the possessive evil alient sentient energy entity is likely the most powerful and terrifying thing in comicdom. Even coporeal parasites like the daemonites from the Wildcats comics where easily more terrifying then anything in marvel except perhaps possessive psychic entities like apocalypse and the shadow king. And unlike say trying to create the battalion etc and needing to model and build them from the ground up, the Oncoming Storm being re imagined as a mass assault from a swarm of nicti possessing all sorts of the old factions, would allow for old models, and already made powers to be re used in new creative ways and not be nearly as demanding as building a new faction from scratch would be. -
What issues? The only real issue AE ever caused more then the other forms of PLving in this game was the fact it could all be done in Atlas Park and thus we could get newbs who never left atlas trying to join things like TFs spread across multiple zones who constantly needed directions. Farmers do provide the rest of the casual community with access to the rarest drops via the AH. PLvers could accomplish one day to cap PLving with ladder characters. That is literally how most of the major SGs recruited by offering such a service. They also were the biggest complainers about AE farms because they lost a tool that basically let them bribe people into their ranks. Since I really doubt all that many coh newbs are happening, as like 99% of all people Ive chatted with in HC so far are long time vets of the old live version, I dont see the risk of the AE babies becoming a common issue as it did for a time on live. Lets be honest here even if HC becomes legit its never going to see some huge population explosion of new comers who never played the game before. So yes considering how many on these very forums do say "I PL because I am bored to death of leveling up through content I know with my eyes closed", I do see enough real want for a auto 50 option with no strings attached that maybe the HC team should give it a serious consideration. Especially if by doing so we can get most of the PL crowd( not farm crowd though there is overlap) out of AE and thus reduce the number of PL farms being created. I mean I do get the desire, and I have been happy myself enjoying remaking many of my old 50s. However it can indeed be wearying. Ive been giving this game a lot less time the last couple months because its simply not possible to keep doing the same old arcs for many characters for months on end. And yeah I likely would use the auto 50 myself at least for a few of my old 50s Ive been putting off because they indeed did not get fun till they had all their powers. Some builds just are not much fun to lvl with.

My suggestion was within a GD thread not its own post on suggestions. But yes at this point I think the only way to sate Power Gamers so they wont ruin content with exploitive( IE unintended approaches to content)) behavior is to give them no reason to step into AE. As for rewards frankly Id remove RNG entirely and simply award merits based on time inside missions. And yes I do know that would equal some just sitting afk in mishes for hours. but ultimately if that is how they choose to engage the mish rather then doing many mishes in the same time, when a standardized time for reward system it would also remove all reason to actively farm instead of just playing.

We are not talking about parody names. But names like my own used here on the forum and in game. Back on live it was not merely tolerated but allowed and even encouraged by the devs and admin to make use of names found tucked away in the lore long forgotten. And yes its true NC soft doesnt need to use a character named bentley berkeley to justify pulling out the army of lawyer ninjas. However since the HC team has recently changed their position on names protected by copy right and costumes protected by trade marks there is no reason to simply assume those that are part of COH are not on that list of nopes. Fun fact the day the content went live taht removed statesman as an in game living NPC I made Marcus Cole by purchasing a name change for a character Id planned to do just that with and it was approved because statesman was no longer a living interactive NPC and no longer attached to a dev. Sadly someone beat me to that here on HC but such is the luck of the draw. -
Sadly whatever the point you wanted to make is lost on me I never much cared for ben stiller or cameron diaz. so never bothered to watch that one. My main point in the above post was play the game for what it is, and if what you want isnt in that there are always other games out there. While I love CoH and am dearly glad its back in our world to enjoy even at the extreme end of the spectrum of power builds in this game when you can solo GMs as an offender etc, it doesnt have the same power fantasy fuel as a game like Warframe where your basically an army of one. One of the little aspects of it I really appreciate is dividing powers and weapons into different things. One of the things that has and will always annoy me is weapons as power sets rather then tools as was done in coh and champions online.

Uhm pardon? What are you babbling on about? I have not said a thing to you nor assume anything about you other then you seem to be defensive and aggressive about a post directed at someone else which specifically cited his own behavior that no one I know wouldnt call a meaningful character flaw. Since you are the one to instigate this with a clearly combative attitude against me Ill be blunt as a baseball bat to the head. PLving is not some sign of tactical thought nor great planning. Its nothing to brag about nor take some sense of pride in. If you enjoy it fine all well and good. Im not trying to take it away from you, hell Ive recently asked quite seriously for us to just be given an auto 50 option at the P2W. I have zero issue with just giving PLers what they really want if in turn they will leave AE to RP content creators. To avoid any future conflicts with you I shall be putting you on ignore and frankly hope you do the same to me. I dont think we would be well suited to future interactions.

Bravo, welcome to the ranks of lore based RP. Sadly since HC has cracked down on copy righted and trademarked names, and technically all of coh is still NC soft property the old tradition of lore based characters is somewhat up in the iar. I am right there with you btw as most of my stable use names drawn from game lore. Sadly as yet no HC team member has commented on if names that would of been allowed on live like your own idea will be tolerated while the talks with NC soft and the goal of becoming legit are still under wraps and in the works. As for expanding content as you suggest Im all for it. Any thing so driven by the lore is always needed imo.
