Dunno about Fulmens, but @arcanavilleis definitely still around. And still awesome.

I like the cutscenes in COX. They are usually quite short and often not only well-written but very amusing (even after seeing them a zillion times--I still smile every time I see the Frostfire cutscene, for example). The only time they become annoying is when I am grinding a trial, but then, grinding a trial is itself annoying and really has nothing to do with the cutscenes themselves.

Here's a thought: don't nerf bat to death your contacts or in-mish allies. Problem solved. 😉

Your question appears to be "let's argue?". Am I reading that right? If so, my argument would be that I have no idea at all who any of these players are, though RavenFrost sounds familiar and in a good way (and may not be the player's global at all). Would your opinion post about top 10 faves be relevant to people who play on your server (whatever that is) and not "in the game"? After all, "in the game," means all the servers . . . and not just those on HC. Or are you asking us to argue that these are not, actually, your OWN top 10 faves? In which case, you're just a troll, right? After all, if I say my favorite color is teal, who can argue otherwise? No, Tahl, it's NOT teal, your actual favorite color is puce. Heh. Good one, either way, but a bit of waste of time.

This is fantastic! I love to see the COH/X community pulling together as always, and the game account rewards are nice, but I think just knowing you're doing a good thing for a good cause is plenty. Yay! -
issue 26 Patch Notes for April 1st, 2020
Tahliah replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
What? That's just petty and small and strange. @Apparition was speaking specifically to the HC Baby New Year tag-along, so your "correction/fix" makes zero sense. Oh, wait, are you suggesting that we now have unwanted Baby New Years stuck to us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and just in random Google searches? Yikes. That would be horrific. In fact, I wonder if the devs might think along those lines next time? Gee, how would Twitter/Instagram/[insert whatever social media] users react if we stuck something in their profile and in every one of their posts for a few days? Hmmm. May not seem like a good idea then, right? . . . . but that's probably the point your were making. -
We had a fun-filled, thoroughly wrecky all-plant troll (and dom!) night! We started out early with a full team of eight and dived into the ongoing Maria Jenkins arc in PI. A ninth planter happily showed up, so we pondered creating two teams of 4 and 5, but in the end, a planter duo decided to step aside to make room on the team. We were so sorry to see that happen because we didn't want anyone excluded, but it was very nice of them, nonetheless. Of course we had to stop and ponder that we were all shackled to Baby New Year for some reason. It's something about April Fools Day and Bring a Child to Work Day. Or something. Over all, it was just weird. Here we are with our unwanted and always hilariously hideous middle-aged faced, baby bodied Baby New Years. Funny how he's so much cuter during the Holiday Event. Not everyone was thrilled, and some of us wondered if we could . . . um, "interrogate" him. Turns out, not so much. As we discovered, the Baby New Year tag-alongs do die, but only temporarily. We didn't wreck the babies, so don't call child services! Heh. They just kind of died when we zoned, so if you went to Ouro, for example, the whole area around the porter was littered with baby bodies. That was pretty unsettling, but I'm sure the devs knew what they were doing and stuff. While we were a bit BNY-obsessed at first, we quickly forgot they were even there and just carried on carrioning on. We were doing the Maria Jenkins arc, so there was a lot of variety in maps and baddies (and some yummy shiny badges to be had). We mostly ran through them like buttah: And . . . . And many more: We had a genuinely good fun time wrecking everything in our path (and some things that were a bit off the beaten path). When we split, we tended to not do as well (planty deaths aplenty this night, even two--yes, TWO--team wipes), but when we stuck together and worked as a team, we totally and completely wrecked it. Great news: two of us (finally) hit 50. Both Power Plant. and Similac hit the big 5-0, and were we ever happy and excited! We were the last two of the original group to hit 50, so we did a little happy--and quite jaunty--plant dance. Heh, not really, but we were jaunty plant dancing inside, for sure. Over all, it was a splendid night of plant troll (and dom) wreckage! Next week, we are going to do Mender Ramiel's incarnate intro arc, so it's a level 50 event for many plant trollers. If you are not yet level 50, don't despair! There will be a second not-50 team doing Maria Jenkins or starting the Task Force Commander tfs or doing whatever they like! Or non-50s can join us and just enjoy the planty-wrecky fun as we get started on the DA incarnate story arcs. We will be meeting next Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST in Ouro on Excelsior, so if you are interested in joining our ongoing plant adventures, please do! Your plant troll (or dom) is more than welcome, no matter your level! Show up in Ouro next Tuesday, send our Parks and Wreck sg leader @GreenAx or myself @Tahliah a tell in game or in forum, or join our Parks and Wreck chat channel and shout out, anyone there will be happy to get you added to the team and/or sg. Our current goal is to get the plant troll (and dom) numbers for an all planter BAF. So if you are even thinking about joining our plant troll (and dom) crew and think an all-plant BAF sounds fun, get started now! The sooner you get that plant troll (or dom) rolled and leveled or transferred from another server, the sooner we can parks and wreck BAF!

issue 26 Patch Notes for April 1st, 2020
Tahliah replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
I agree with this. The "joke" would be funny if we could "get it" . . . and then get rid of it. There'd be a lot more appreciation for the humo(u)r if we weren't forced to tow around the ridiculously ugly Baby New Year with no way to get back to our own "reality." I'm not even a big rp or even backstory player, but I have to say that our all-plant troll night was a bit "off" with that ugly mug towing along all night. Now, had they been mini flytraps . . . well, that would have been super cool for bring your sprouts to work day. As is, it's just weird to be stuck with BNY--who's always been a hideously hilariously middle-aged face stuck on a baby body monstrosity that is fun during the Holiday event but that is just off-putting and weird now. Especially when we are stuck with it, no matter our own characters' theme or bio or anything. Not cool. -

Um, what? I get that we are stuck with Baby New Year and all that, but we can't "care" for them (i.e. buff or heal them . . . if we were so inclined). I guess I'll understand the floors thing when it is actually April 1st. :P -
Great choices! I took Primal Forces, too, Termite, since my toon is a /kin and can use all the help she could get in these areas. I may respec out after she gets her incarnate powers, but for now, it's working just fine! 🙂 Love the idea of the spider being plant theme-y, VV, so true! And having a place to put more def/resist procs is always a plus, Good Seed! Thanks for the input, all, I'm leaning toward Mace, too, though I think Soul sounds good with my /kin. Decisions, decisions!

Okay, so I've been completely swamped with work and unable to get onto COH for weeks (at all, not just on plant nights. It's been so awful!). I'm finally experiencing a break in the work crush and have managed to get a patron arc done on Power Plant. with the help of our ever-fabulous Parks and Wreck sg leader @GreenAx. I also got started on the Maria Jenkins arc, but have only done the first three or so missions. All of this activity, plus a happy 2xp booster, has Power Plant. to lvl 49, so I am thiiiiiiiis close to 50 and to getting in on the incarnate action with our plant group. Yay! So all you patron pool power having planters, which patron did you choose and why? I'm not sure which one I want, so I am eager to hear which is best with your planter and its /secondary. As of now, it looks like I will be able to make Tuesday's Plant troll/dom night! We meet at 9 p.m. EST on Excelsior (for any new or thinking about rolling a plant troll/dom people). You can find us by heading to PI, sending an ingame to @GreenAxor to me @Tahliah, or by joining our Parks and Wreck chat channel and letting us know you are there and want to join in the planty wrecky fun!
-
We, well @GreenAxand our other wonderful Parks and Wreck crew, are working to build our ranks and bring your all-plant BAF vision to life! I can't wait! We can never forget Good Seed, so don't you even worry about that. We are mostly concerned about your health and recovery from your surgery, so take it easy and get back to us as soon as you safely can. 🙂 We'll be here. Also, you don't have to be a stranger, you can always log on for Troll Tuesday and just chat with us in sg chat. We'd love to have you there even if you can't actually play Good Seed again just yet. Something to think about.
-
I can't speak to your specific build questions, but what would I do if my ice ice ice blaster didn't work anymore? Cry. Then I'd try to figure out if I could respec her to work as well as (or even better than) before, and if not, sadly move her to the last page of my character list. And cry some more. I will say that the improvements to blasters have been a blessing. I was super slow to embrace them and kept my original main on live the same even after newer and better enhancement sets came out and I could have built a stronger ice blaster, but with HC, I was forced to start from scratch, so I did. And she's actually better now than she was on live (more damage, better survivability, all the goodness plussed).
-
Well, Sands of Mu is a former vet power that is what it is. It's supposed to help you through the lower levels, not be part of your actual attack chain once you get your main attacks. If you are using it for theme, for Boxer, that makes perfect sense, but Sands is just a free power that will never be more than it is (and shouldn't be). If you want to enhance a useless "boxer" power, enhance brawl. :P

What are your top 5, all time, most memorable, primaries?
Tahliah replied to KelvinKole's topic in Brute
This one is easy: ice blaster primary, hands down. Waaay back in the day I used to play Diablo/II, and I loved the sorceress with her icy blasty goodness, so when a work acquaintance was talking about COH (this was way before Going Rogue and all the other stuff), I thought it sounded fun and of course made an ice blaster as my very first toon. She was so much fun to me, the whole game was like a revelation, really. I fell completely in love with COH and have never fallen out of love. That original ice blaster was my test run, and my next ice blaster (Ice Ice Baby) became my main. The first toon I rerolled on HC was Ice, and she's better than ever! I'm not a melee player, and I like the challenge of having a squishy alt and then having to make her survive through her build (on which I've spend many many hours and many many millions) and on continuously being challenged to kite, use her secondary powers, and work with my teams to ensure she does her best damage and doesn't face plant. Heh. She still does, but she is by far my favorite alt even after all these years (maybe especially after all these years since I didn't get to play her for so long). I also love to play plant/ trolls,, emp/ defenders, dark/ anything range (troll, def, mm, whatever), demons/ mm. Plant/ trolls are just a complete blast to play, emp keeps me busy especially on larger teams (so I may not always be in the mood to run one), and dark is just deadly good fun. Of all the mm pets, I love the demons the best (though beast/ is my close second favorite). They are more hardy than other mm pets, look amazing, do lots of range damage (which I love), seem easier to buff/protect no matter my secondary, and are just genuinely good fun. -
Of course we will! Not everyone can be there every week, and that's perfectly understandable! Heck, things have been hectic for me, too, workwise, and I can't always make it, either (this whole year looks to be more of the same, sadly, at least until Thanksgivingish). Anyway, of course you are welcome; just send a tell to @GreenAxor to me @Tahliah, join our Parks and Wreck chat channel and shout out (anyone there can get you added to the sg), or just show up in Cim next Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on Excelsior and either shout out or send a tell to any planter you see standing around looking wrecky and amazing. 🙂 That's an open invitation to all interested plant trolls (and doms), by the way! Just let us know you want to join, and any one of us will make it happen. Even if you aren't yet lvl 35 and can't yet do the ITF with us, don't be shy! We are still working out how/when to run a second night for lower level planters (including our own!).
-
Yay! See you there. 🙂
-
Just a reminder that the all plant troll (and dom!) team will meet tonight in Grandville to unlock our patron power pools!
-
Seriously awesome vid, Termite! I literally laughed out loud when you zoned into AP next to that huge guy in the hot pink speedo. Your reaction was priceless. :) On that last mish, our travel wasn't faster than yours, we hit the TT (team teleport) but somehow you missed it, but Creeper had your back (and the other guy who missed it). I typically fly off and miss TT, too, so I know the feeling (and I think that's why Creeper even has tp friend in the first place, heh). What a fun tf that was! Watching it from your perspective was also super cool (and I got to see how I was doing on speed boost/buffs, too, and it seems I did okay except when we all split in that one CoT map). I love love love your videos, keep 'em coming!
-
No worries! Our chat channel is Parks and Wreck, and you can also send a tell to me @Tahliahor to @GreenAxto get in. If you can put your toon in the Parks and Wreck sg, it's even easier (but not necessary). 🙂

We did it! We got our Task Force Commander accolade upon completing an amazingly fun and wrecky Numi tf. We had a total of seven plant trolls (and doms!) show up last night, but we started the Numi tf at around 9:15ish with six planters and two tanks we found lurking around Numi. They were awesome, and we all had an amazing time wrecking our way through the missions. We had a blast breezing through Numi and finished in 1 hour and 1 minute (I double-checked with the team before we logged to ensure I got the completion time right this time, heh). Upon completing the tf and finally getting our TFC accolade, we all posed for a triumphant screenie. Here we are being triumphant. And posey. After we finished our tf, the tanks decided to take off, as did one of our planters, so we batted around ideas for both next week and our next planty wreckage for the evening. We decided to tackle the ITF with six planters, so off we went to get Midnighters badges and meet up in Cim. We decided not to go with fillers for the ITF, so off we went into the unknown world of Romans and Cyclops and Minotaurs, oh my! We did great, if a bit slow, on the first mission, but the second one (the one with the exploding crystals and ambushes) caused us to team wipe. This was only our second team wipe since the inception of our Tuesday Troll night, so it was a bit of a bummer, but we recovered quickly and got our wreckage on. [edit to add: actually, rereading this, I think we may have team wiped during the first mish on the lead the chick to the altar part, not during the second mish in which our flytraps were the most common fodder for the exploding crystals.] During the first mish, our sg and tf leader Irresponsible Creeper got an emergency work call and had to log during the second mish. We discussed making that our last one and just waiting for a full team to wreck the ITF, but we are sturdy, competitive planters and decided to "just one more mish" into the third mission where we . . . had a couple of near team wipes at the computer, but we ended up prevailing. We encountered problems because we weren't damaging the computer fast enough to stop the bots from coming to life. They very nearly kicked our collective plant butt, but . . . they didn't thanks to the skill and quick action of our crew. And to the return of Irresponsible Creeper, who was a sight for sore eyes, let me tell you! The AVs, as is so often the case on our all plant troll (and dom!) team, weren't difficult at all. We just kind of breezed through all the areas except the computer and then we got to Romi. There was some discussion about how best to proceed, and we ended up with deciding to try the zerg rush method first. It worked. We spammed buffs, debuffs, heals, immobs, holds, Spirit Trees, glorious life giving spores, and creepers until we whipped Romi into submission. All the times. A couple of our Parks and Wreck crew decided to drop their warwolf (from our Striga runs) and their Snow Beast (from our Winter Event night), and it was grand to see (not to mention the added dps was very welcome). Here we are basking in our victory (I'm the blue one glowing from my Peebles wedding band, also from our Striga fun!): Over all, it was an eventful night and very fruitful in terms of badges, accolades, xp, and influence! Power Plant. gained two levels, going from lvl 43 to 45 without a 2xp booster! It was also an absolute blast! [Note to self: get 2xp booster for next week!] So we decided to go with unlocking the patron power pool for our next Plant Troll Tuesday night. We'll meet in Grandville on Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on Excelsior. We didn't decide which patron arc to do, though Ghost Widow is our sg leader's choice. Doing one will unlock them all, so unless anyone has a strong preference, we'll go with Ghost Widow. Any level plant troll (or dom) is welcome to join us for our patron pool unlockage fun! If you are not yet at least lvl 35, the patron pool powers, once unlocked, will become available to you when you hit lvl 35. It's worth doing, in other words, even if you can't yet access the power pool. To get to Grandville from blue side, just go to Pocket D and see Null the Gull. He's on the redside of Pocket D, on top of a truck looking very seagullish and dapper. Once you switch alignments to villain, you will be able to enter Grandville via the sg base. Switching back is as simple as clicking on Null again and selecting Hero, so it's crazy easy to get our patron power pool and then be back to our heroic selves in one night. Any new planters interested in joining our crew--or just our patron pool unlocking night--can do so very easily! Show up on Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST in Grandville on Excelsior (we'll be near Arbiter Rein) and shout out, or join our Parks and Wreck chat channel and let us know you are there and want in, or send a tell to me @Tahliahor to @GreenAx. That's it, easy peasy! We welcome all new planters with open stems and have a great time on our plant adventures, so don't be shy!
-
I'm sure we will all have different answers to this, but I skip Spore Burst and will respec out of Spirit Tree after 50 (if not before since our team has so many heal options already). Spore Burst is a mob sleep, so as soon as they are attacked they will waken, so I'm not sure how helpful it is on a plant troll team when we're all spamming our immobs, holds, creepers, and our flytraps are randomly attacking whatever they see. :P On plant/kin, I skip Repel (it's an end-drain on an end-hungry toon, so I find it more trouble than it's worth, particularly on a planter since it has awesome holds. On my ill/kin, I get it later on when my end issues are in hand because she doesn't do much in terms of control). I also skip Inertial Reduction. If you'll have more fun on a dom then by all means roll one! This is all about the fun, after all. A lot of us have lower level plant trolls/doms in the sg and we have a lot of new members who are in the teens and early 20s, so we should be able to get a team together for lower level planters some night that is not Tuesday. Maybe on Mondays? What do you all think?
-
P.S. I was the plant/kin Power Plant. :P
