  1. We should have some kind of Name Policy to keep people from keeping names they aren't using... Oh wait...
  2. Windows ME FTW
  3. Unfortunately no. HC doesn’t have a copy of the user data from Live.
  4. Good to know about the underscores Shenanigunner, thanks! +1 inf
  5. I'm noticing that both of the bind files search for the same thing. The only difference between the files is that are loading each other, but in theory all you really accomplishing is: /bind Numpad7 "target_custom_next Maelstrom“, Additionally, since Maelstrom is not a system parameter for target_custom_next, the /bind Numpad7 "target_custom_next Maelstrom” will only search for targets with Maelstrom in the name Does this help?
  6. I was under the impression that they were overlays, not permanent replacements...? I didn't mean permanently from a technical perspective, just that there is no action in the game to turn them on or off - from a game play perspective they are “permanent” unless you go in and remove the data.
  7. Karthunk - I've read your earlier posts, but I guess I'm unclear on why you think the change is critical...what's the risk if the prices drop on these?
  8. Sorry, I wasn't clear (and rereading, I really wasn't - sorry) Player Type #1 - Powerleveler - needs to lvl quick and make a lot of inf... If you make it harder for this person to lvl faster or earn inf, they are just going to leave (HC is not the only game in town)...So making it more a slog for them loses the player anyway Player Type #2 - Casual Gamer - they don't have to engage in the market at all if they don't want to. Making it harder or easier to earn inf in the market is pretty irrelevant to them... This is spot on Robotech Master (BTW - I love the name...Carl Macek was a genius) - They had several thousand players for several years without having to do the broad fundraising they are doing now. I really don't see in the short term having any fundraising issues even if the server pop was cut in half overnight...Long Term is more difficult to say, but too early to worry about And so I am clear, I'm advocating for not removing the Enhancement Converters from Reward Merits
  9. Next updates: Baby Bel Cheese Whiz Laughing Cow Port Wine Velveeta
  10. Debatable (in that it really has been debated here) - https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,3740.0.html
  11. Except it depends on donations which will start to dry up as people lose interest. This is a "not for profit" deal which means a couple of poor months on donations will bring the end. The new car smell fades fast when people find nothing left to work towards. I should not be worth a billion infamy at this point, I haven't had to work hard enough to reach this level. A couple thoughts here - Let's separate the market from general gameplay. 1.) People leveling up and people earning boatloads of influence are 2 separate parts of the game. One part of the gameplay is pretty much required (leveling up), and the other is really entirely optional (the marketplace) For example - I hate leveling too quickly - I know that if I want to level quicker, I have many options, but I'm frustrated that the only option to go slower is too turn off XP. But the market...It's really easy to ignore if you want. In fact, you can level up to 50 and not play the market once - you still earn inf, still get enhancements and can still craft away...I don't do the enhancement converter game, at all, I have a lot, haven't tried to sell them yet, I'm just not interested... 2.) However, removing the Enhancement Converters from Reward Merits sounds like a case of "I got what I wanted, but now you can't get the same". While having them there means the price might stay low, removing them only ensures that those who already have them can earn more influence for theirs and no one else gets to play in the sandbox...doesn't sound fair... 3.) It is a double blind market - prices are going to go up and down based on supply/demand...My thoughts are let the long term work itself out...there are always levers the dev's can pull later if it continues to be a big problem (remove seeded items from the market, increase the cost for converters, etc)...but it feels too soon to worry...
  12. Enjoy the read...start at the bottom and work up to understand it chronologically - https://massivelyop.com/tag/city-of-heroes-score-drama/
  13. In your first example, its “target_enemy_near” (yours was missing thr underscores) and it's powexec_name (yours had an extraunderscore) The 2nd example should have worked I think...double check your spelling?
  14. Don't tell jubakumbi that, his head will swell... ;) But at 5/3 days, that's pretty close to unlimited, so jubakumbi is right I could, but the whole point of asking in the forums was to not have to spend the time exploring a server community to determine whether or not it's the right server before I can settle down somewhere. I think the theme here is that all the servers are quite welcoming, and while their might be minor differences, you won’t find your gameplay lacking. If you are odd exception to that rule, you can quickly change homes. I'm on everlasting, would be happy to team...but wherever you go, do it soon, because who knows how long this will last, and playing somewhere is better than playing nowhere...
  15. Jack, that makes sense (creating a flag where none exists today), but I think it still sounds deeper... What if there is more than one Kheldian on the team? There is no differentiation in that between TF and PuG... What if the Kheldian invites me to their mission? Suddenly all their Quants won't spawn, because now we are teaming? And I am sure there are more considerations... My only point is it starts to feel like it needs to be an all or nothing proposition or it gets more complicated to implement...It's moving from QoL enhancement to revamp of the Kheldian interactions with these types of enemies... I'm not saying no or that I don't like it, just it's starting to feel like it would take a lot more work to implement than it sounded like..
  16. It sounded to me like (**sounded to me**) 1.) There isn't a flag - the check just actually counts the number of Kheldians. And since being a Kheldian is a key property to the class, it can't be just turned on or off 2.) If you remove the check, it's for all Kheldians, not player by player basis
  17. That I would be for... I didn't want to bump the post again, but I wanted to clarify that I am sympathetic...I am really glad Leo was helping Rebirth give them a home.. Also, as an aside, rolled an Alt yesterday and I didn't see the Patrol XP booster. Has it been removed?
  18. There was a beta patch on Saturday (June 8th). If you don't close the Tequila launcher, it won't download new files, so it could be you just hadn't restarted Tequila until today and then it picked up the Beta Patch...
  19. It may just be semantics here, but to ensure we are saying the same thing...A bind is to a specific key on the keyboard, specific mouse button, or a combination. But it is specific. So if I bind something to the "F" key, it will only happen when I press the "F" key... A macro creates a "button" on the powers tray. And you can move it around all over, but it requires you to click the button (or the appropriate keystrokes for the slot the button is in) to activate it. So if you put it in the 3 spot on the 1st power tray, you can either click the macro, or press 3 to execute it... I'm hoping that clears up the first question - /Macro [name] "l Rise$$powexec_name [Revive Power Name]" for local chat, otherwise for team chat - /Macro [name] "g Rise$$powexec_name [Revive Power Name]" 2nd question for your kiddo /Macro [name] "target_custom_next [your hero's name here]$$follow" should do the trick. It will only target something that in the brackets as part of it's name. So if your Hero's name is "gunner", it's going to target any NPC that has "gunner" in the name... 3rd question - I do not believe you can save macro's - just the binds...However, you can edit the macro and copy/paste the text into notepad, and then paste them into the next character you want to have that macro...
  20. Once installed (following the instructions in this thread) they permanently replace the existing zone maps. They are best used by zooming in to locate the specific markers and to read the text that is there. They do not alter anything else, just the maps...
  21. The only caveat here is that you are given a limited number of character transfers (5/mos?). So you can move some of your characters whenever you want. But I think odds of finding what you want is very probable on all the servers. Roll an Alt on each server and see what you like...
  22. It’s a conversation that keeps popping up more and more - https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,4271.msg31670.html
  23. I remember having to balance teams where everyone who was SK’ed or Exemplared had to be teamed with someone in the lvl range who was not already sidekicking or examplaring soemone. It felt like it involved a college algebra student to get it to balance...
  24. What I can say about the role play I have experienced is very casual (encouraged, but optional) and most teams in Everlasting have not had a heavy RP component (little to none)
  25. Here’s the instructions - https://forums.homecomingservers.com/index.php/topic,4021.msg29272.html#msg29272
