Also home to Null the Gull (on top of a truck on the villain side) who offers various services. Null will even make you stronger if you ask enough times.

Add in the merit rewards to enhancement boosters flip and you've learned well, Grasshopper! 👍

I make a circuit of it with the end at badge 7 so I can go through the pottal to Recluses Victory and get my Oro portal. Get the Athletic/ Ninja run and Jump/Steam Jump Pack powers and I go 8, 2, 1, 3, hop up on City Hall for 6 then the globe for 5 then inside city hall to 4 then 7 and into RV for the badge/portal. Takes a couple minutes for 5 reward merits, 9 badges (11 counting the 10 badges badges you'll get),the Oro portal and the Long Distance portal with Atlas Park unlocked.

Do I need to circle the words in crayon?

Every so often, I'll go through the stable and any character below 25 gets the "does this bring me joy" test, especially if they haven't been played in a long time. I, like many of us, will see someone so something, check their info for power selection and make one for myself. Sometimes they become a high level character, sometimes they never hit level 10. Those will get purged even when they have some banger names I can't believe I got. My 50s? No, each one was a journey and I'm attached, even if I rarely play them. My main gets pulled out maybe a couple times a month, but I'm usually playing new projects when I'm on. That being said, I'd never freely offer the name up, even if a new player wanted it to start a new journey. I think that's where most are at: cooperation within reason. Except whoever these people are. Screw them.

Genned for the first time in years...

Sounds like a Nemesis plot to me. 🤨 -
Soooooooo, the wiki but you want to make money with it? Hate to burst your bubble; but Homecoming takes donations to keep the lights on and that's all. Pretty sure our shiny new license has that as a stipulation. The Homecoming team spent years negotiating for it and I know new people are really excited about the game being "back" (insert LL Cool J joke), but let's gear down a few. Not sure what the rules say about if you wanted to do up your own, not asking for money, site that links to the wiki. That's a question for one of the Hommecoming team or at least someone who wants to research the ToS in depth.

Sigh...you know when they release "New Snarky", they just have "Snarky Classic" in the wings, just waiting for the right to time to hit the shelves.

I do wonder if "Jake" ever made an account and is one of the people in various chats telling everyone they're playing wrong. -
Judging by the avatar? 😁

Who is Minerva and what is that thing on her back?

In all seriousness (it happens), that looks kinda like the exhaust from the steam powered backpack. -
I slot those freebies from P2W as i get slots open and I will put drops in if needed, but buying enhancements? Nah. One caveat, though, so I guess I'm not 100% that way. In Praetoria, I will slot lvl15 IOs at 12 because Enriche apparently gives everyone Super Reflexes and perfect accuracy. A Praetorian is a once or twice a year project, though as opposed to the ludicrous number of blue and red side characters.

I may get some side eyes for saying this, but I don't buy jack squat til level 22. From then til 50, I buy recipes (if I don't have them), craft and slot lvl 25 IOs (adding set IOs as I can). If I'm feeling the pinch before 22, I slot drops if needed, but usually I can do fine till 22 unslotted. I sell everything (unless I'm slotting it or its needed to craft regular IOs) and don't need to dip into cash from my higher level characters. As other have said, one Prismatic and you're pretty set, not to mention orange and yellow salvage. The merits flip cements financial independence. YMMV, but this works for me.

So, with the big influx of new folks, the group of old guard and all points in between we have a wide spectrum of players. Each of us has a reason we’re here. I think it’d be kinda cool to see what all brings and keeps us in the City. Devs and GMS are encouraged to reply as well. For me, this game is comfort food for the soul. It was my first real foray into MMOs. I played with people I knew and got to know the others in our SG (go Hrafn Warband!) and climbed out of my shell a lot. I’m a huge story buff and this game’s chock full of stories. Before COH, I really only played single player RPGs and would digest lore like there was no tomorrow. Getting to know this game’s world and it’s ever adapting story was and is still a treat. Then there’s the superhero slant. Huuuuuge comic book nerd that I am, this game was like a dream come true. I remember before getting into beta just hanging on the boards, shooting the breeze, swapping character concepts and Hero Machine pics. Sky-Hawke started in Hero Machine and grew from there. Such a great memory. When the game sunset, it sucked. A lot. When I found out about Homecoming, I was so excited I was telling everyone! So now, I’m here for all that I mentioned, the nostalgia, the warm fuzzy feeling of a comfortable blanket and to be a part of this community as the game marches on. In short, this is one of my happy places.

Eh, don't sweat it. We will go round and round on one topic with each other and then be laughing in the next. We get heated because we love the game, but usually keep it just shy of hair pulling.
-
Dunno. I do remember COH cracking down on things afterwards, and rightfully so. Do we want take the risk of thinking every copyright infringement we see is an employee of " Company X"? Not a shot at you (apologies if it sounds like it), I just know for almost 5 years a lot of us have had the "servers and forums are down...oh crap, is this it?" feeling enough times to be cautious. We're overprotective, but with reason.

Option to do things like turn Fitness off? Cool, more options usually don't hurt anything. Make them off from the get go and force the majority of players to have to go claim them so a handful of people can be happy? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....<deep breath>....oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
