I did some digging and 3ds Max is still going strong but now has gone the Adobe route of expensive subscription fees. That will aslo be a blocker. I used 3ds Max waaaay back when to make weapon and armor mods for Elder Scrolls Morrowind but that was @ 2003. Everyone seems to say Blender is the best free alternative. However, at least for me, you run into needing a decent enough pc to run that. I think there's more roadblocks than just finding someone that wants to help and has the skills.

I agree and do this regularly, but... Familiarity is something far too many players don't have. Watch the Help channel for awhile and the knows and know nots disparity shows. I fear I'm bringing my whacking stick awfully close to a horse with one hoof in the grave with this but hosing the many for the sake of the few is lame, douchey and just plain wrong.

I've started up an Energy/Martial Blaster and last night dinged 8 after finishing the Atlas Park arcs. I was about to head to KR when I saw a call for a Posi 1. I paused and eventually decided against joining because of the KB stigma even though I only had the single target powers. I know how to position, hell I do it all the time with melee cone attacks. I know what to target and always clean up any mess I may cause. My 50 PB only has a couple things slotted to KB and the rest I know how to use properly. All that aside, I was worried about the "Oh great...an knockback blaster" comments. I agree with the idea of allowing us a toggle that changes KB to KD or not. I do dislike having to sacrifice a slot in a power (and a set bonus) just because people get pissy as the sight of a energy blaster or a peacebringer.

What does the "win the day" thing do? I've noticed you're vehemently against it, but I don't think I've ever stopped and thought about what it actually is.

I'll roll a gold sider a couple times a year for kicks. Most go to Primal Earth at 20 and usually get either shoved into the vault or deleted. Sometimes, though, a character will hit just right and I'll take them to 50. I've only taken one to 50 as a pure praetorian though and as @Six-Six said, it's a fun novelty and a bit of bragging rights, but I'll never do it again. I enjoyed it all the way through finishing Night Ward then it became a slog and a half to push to 50. I still pull the character out to run stuff now that he's blueside and he's wicked powerful...but yeah, not doing that again. Finish Night Ward and jet, that's my motto now.

I still use it regularly, but every so often it will crap the cradle and just refuse to work after an "update". I've uninstalled and reinstalled it a lot. So far, it keeps reinstalling and working afterwards, but I've seen some wonky errors crop up. I don't think I've ever had to get rid of folders or hidden files, just uninstall and reinstall. Now, I'm going to ask a question and it's meant to be absolutely serious (I do that occasionally) and not a smart ass remark. So, here goes: Did you turn it off and on again? I know, I know, but we all know that a good reboot fixes a lot of crap. I'm sure you have, but humor me.
