  1. I'm not saying they are the same, they don't provide equal damage in the same situations. But they do both provide big numbers in their respective situations, enough to be of good value to the team. Perhaps CC is not the right word, Stalkers AS secondary effects and speed in eliminating specific targets are of use to the team. Since the addition of Assassins Focus there is no longer a question, in my mind, of the usefulness of Stalkers on the team. Exactly how I quantified it might be slightly off, but the greater point stands.
  2. Toughness is only a small part of AT balance. Contribution to team effort is a larger part. Toons with Taunt abilities, especially AoE Taunt abilities, have something to contribute to the team besides damage. Toons with Support abilities or CC have something to contribute to the team besides damage. Blasters contribute a lot of damage, a little CC, nothing else. Stalkers contribute a lot of damage, a little CC, nothing else. Dominators contribute a lot of damage, a good amount of CC, nothing else. Scrappers contribute a lot of damage, a little Taunting, nothing else. Sentinels contribute a little damage, a little Support, nothing else. To me it seems clear that Sentinels need to be more correctly balanced alongside Scrappers and Dominators.
  3. I feel like this is a contradiction. If it's true that no matter what they'll still trail blasters then the original statement is not wrong.
  4. It should work as a macro if you simply change the word bind to the word macro and instead of including the key you want include the name you want on the macro.
  5. I wasn't suggesting adjusting Savage at all. Fire beats Savage in most short fights. It's only against EBs and AVs that Savage really does better than fire, and even then resistances are going to be an issue.
  6. This has always been the case for me too in Homecoming.
  7. Try using Combat Jumping along with Hover for improved flight control.
  8. Every poll on these boards made by players instead of devs is irrelevant.
  9. On mobs with health 50% and above the Sentinel gets criticals, below 50% the Opportunity debuffs kick in.
  10. Maybe I’m thinking of stalkers. Their hp was improved at some point.
  11. Kind of like missing on two attacks within a few seconds and wondering if there's something wrong with your accuracy.
  12. It WAS looked into. Back in i24, when they buffed sniper attacks and nukes for all ranged attackers, they gave ALL blasters a self heal or shield of some sort. I don't recall for sure but I think there may have also been improvements to HP (someone else can confirm or deny this).
  13. And Sentinel ENERGY blast comes from your hands! WTH??!?!?
  14. what are you talking about??? Sentinel FIRE blast does come from your hands! Sentinel RIFLE uses a Rifle!
  15. I think you should play a Sentinel. Sounds like they're more your speed.
  16. Make every activation of Opportunity include both Offensive and Defensive buffs. Make Opportunity a Team buff, centered on the Sentinel, that affects up to 30 allies, but will not be cast on targets that already have a Sentinel's Opportunity buff on them, so multiple Sentinels could cover an entire League. THAT would vastly increase their team utility. I doubt I'd have a complaint about their personal damage if it worked like that. But I don't think of them as hybrid damage/support characters, I think of them as primary damage dealers, so that might not be the way to go.
  17. You're not putting words in my mouth. That is EXACTLY the issue. Other ATs with damage primary either do a lot more damage (scrappers, stalkers, blasters, while levelling, I am happy to concede I don't know jack about Sentinel performance at 50), have aoe taunts (brutes, kheldians), or have significantly superior support powers (corruptors, masterminds, arachnos). But I'm happy with the concept of a ranged damage dealer that has armor and a small but not worthless support tool. The balance just feels off a bit, while levelling at least.
  18. I haven't done that, so... My statements about my sentinels performance have been about levelling. I don't have a lvl 50 Sentinel. In the mid 30s my Sentinel has most of her primary attacks, slotted like any other damage dealer, 1 acc, 3 dmg, maybe 1 end or rcg depending. She has no survivability issues worth complaining about. If that's a bad build, in the mid 30s, then that is a problem with the AT. I shouldn't have to build vastly differently from any other damage dealer AT THAT LEVEL. Sure at 50 maybe I need to do different things with APPs and Procs and such, I'm open to that. But I'm talking about levelling. Procs and APPs cannot be necessary for fine performance while levelling.
  19. I do, yes. People used to say Blasters were fine, well in i24 they got buffed heavily. Were they fine before? I don't know, it's subjective.
  20. I think he meant "need" in the sense of "if you want to push the upper limits of performance, this is what you need to do". Not as in "do this or you're just garbage".
  21. I'm just saying it was TOO MUCH less. I agree it should be less.
  22. You know what, that's totally unnecessary. I haven't been rude, simply incredulous at statements that do not reflect what I have seen. Sorry if it came across as arrogant, but I don't think I have spoken with any more authority than anyone else here. Certainly I am not the only person, either in game or here in the forums, to feel that Sentinels need to do more damage.
  23. It is true that some part of my argument is not based on numbers but on "feel". I frequently team with a couple of RL friends. Recently I did that with me on a Water/Regen Sentinel and my friends on a Defender and a Controller. It really felt like fights were not going fast enough, compared to when I played my Scrapper with the same team. Not that people were dying as a result, but simply that the contribution of my Sentinel was less than that of my Scrapper. EDIT: BTW This was in the mid 30s, not level 50, but my attacks are heavily slotted. Sure, things could be improved with procs, but that shouldn't be the baseline for performance.
