I'm curious to know why. /elec only offers 30% chance of -Recovery via Power Sink. EA offers three ways to get -Recovery.
-
A bit Captain Obvious.
-
Yes, but -Recovery makes getting to low end and it sticking there far easier. More so on harder targets. If a Blaster is a better debuffer than a Defender, then something is completely broken.
-
/elec has no -Recovery. Of the two powers which offer -Recovery for an Elec/elec Blaster, one is a nuke. A Defender is going to trigger Shocked status a lot more.
-
An Elec/elec Defender is likely the best sapper due to the all of the -Recovery tools it has. The issue with end drain is how little of end a target needs to still pull off an attack. Granted, that might still be lesser attacks, and some AVs simply can be really annoying to drain or simply won't be drained enough for it to matter. I currently am trying out a Defender and Controller versions and seeing which one I like the best in the end.

Superheroes that use Gravity, and what would you pair with it ??
Without_Pause replied to smnolimits43's topic in Controller
I think a Grav/ma Dom would be closer to what you want. -
Except, for Holds you can only do 1 purple set for the ST and AoE Holds. One of the Controller sets gives you 10% Recharge and those 6th slots combine for 7.5% Ranged and E/N Def along with other aspects. Unless I'm chasing Recharge, I honestly don't slot purples at all. Also, I started to look up some of the damage that other mezzes do. Surprise, a number of the AoE Holds don't do damage. In terms of the faster charging AoE mezzes, again, a number of them don't do damage. The ST Holds do damage. The other mezzes a Controller gets typically don't do damage.
-
They are meant to be slotted in their controls and enhance that very aspect. I think slotting a damage proc in an AoE control you know will proc isn't exactly that terrible.
-
Correct, and at that point you don't care that you lost out on damage.

Midnight Grasp has a DPA of 71.207 if all of the DoTs hit. That's not that bad. Focus is at 65.12. Head Splitter is 64.856. That's not even factoring in the damage type. Shadow Maul's DPA is 30.278. Meanwhile Slice beats SM's DPA at 34.29, recharges faster, and a bit bigger arc.

RTFM and play the tutorial. As a 10 or whatever year vet, I gave up buying 2x XP boosters and found I enjoyed my characters more. You aren't learning the game by being a sitter. Learn how to navigate between zones, You get a lot of options now. The previously mention base is a good thing to use. I group my teleporters levels roughly 1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-50, Red side, and Co-Op. Take that character to 50. T4 them out. You will by default have a decent amount of currency on hand, and the next character will be even easier. Learn how to use the Market even on a low level. Do this and you'll never be poor. Play as many ATs as you feel like doing. They play differently. Some ATs play differently even within the powersets they are given for a certain AT. Download Mid's and learn to build. Grab your ATOs, and the one slot wonders, and go from there. Look at builds people are making and take notes on common things done to them. I tend to do five passes on a build before I call it good. One of the most recent ones has had more changes then any other build I have done. It's okay to make a bad build even in game. You get a free respect every ten levels. Just because a build looks good on paper doesn't mean it plays to your style of gaming or is the right one in the end.

This might be more based on Atomic since that gives +recharge. I would make sure you are standing near an enemy and then click on Powers and then Combat Attributes and go from there.

Which Secondary is Superior Fire Or Rad? You Decide!
Without_Pause replied to ItsDecoy's topic in Sentinel
I found FA to be lackluster on a Brute outside of AE compared to the other armors, and then the FA changes happened. If I were to do another Sent, I would likely pick /rad. You basically are good to go once you hit 24, and it goes up from there. -
You just need to be a bit more aggressive to get FS off. Also, Grav isn't the best when soloing for getting through bigger mobs where FS shines in a reasonable time frame. Fire or Plant is ideal for that. As someone who ODed on Kin, Grav/time is a solid pairing.

Click on Powers and then Combat Attributes.

I don't know what the current options are for Mids. I always do it by hand, but I am getting more and more with planning out the build before I even play it. Since some sets need to be slotted at 27/50, I just put in other ones until I can slot what I really want and keep the ones I respec out of in my base for the next character who can use them. Make sure to pay attention to what drops as you level characters. You can craft and attuned IOs worthy of doing such as you go along or store in your base for future characters. My current goal for a final build is 500 million. Slotting purples and other high end IOs will change that, but it is still a good goal. The good news is you have a tank. Crank up the diff to what you can handle and mobs size is more important than mob level since bigger mobs means more drops(purples), and solo that stuff until the cows come home and go back out. Also, depending on if you don't mind mind-numbing stuff, grab Unai Kemen as a contact and run through his missions without completing them, exit, pick a different mission, repick his mission, and go again. That's so old school farming right there. That dude has tons of maps which a bunch of mobs. Add in using the Market and it won't take long to feel like you are past the point of being broke and paying it forward instead.

I honestly don't change my slotting on attacks for Acc depending on if I Tactics or not. Granted, I have left basic slotting behind and use IO essentially exclusively. Also note Tactics offers Perception and resistance to Confuse and Fear. Those are incredibly useful for levels 40-50. Basic slotting for attacks. Single target: 1 Acc, 1 End, 3 Damage, 1 Recharge(Optional) Multi-target: 2 Acc, 1 End, 3 Damage

Shards are annoying to collect and don't drop from Incarnate content. They also are only used for the Alpha slot. I find by the time I get my Alpha slot to T4 for the rest of the build is almost T4ed as well. There are options for leveling up your Incarnates using currency, don't do that. EDIT: I forgot to add, you can go into Mids and select what Incarnates you want to pick and see what the numbers look like.

New version of MidsReborn is out!
Without_Pause replied to Captain Fabulous's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
Two clicks in the app is always faster that going to the website and getting it from there. It is all the more so odd to check for updates and the app says there are none when clearly there is one. -
If you are a newer player using a lower budget, then yeah, you will feel like you aren't on the same playing level as other people who have billions sitting. Just getting to T3 in your Alpha and getting even a budget IO build going will make a world of a difference. Just playing a build to T4 it out will generate a ton of currency. You get a handful of respecs for free. You can play around on beta to see what works for you.

New version of MidsReborn is out!
Without_Pause replied to Captain Fabulous's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
It would be nice if we could simply do an update from the previous version. -
Also, the ATOs for each of the ATs are rather different and aid much more to a Tankers survival rate.
-
Yes. It's similar to why Defender's numbers are better than Corrs or Controllers.
