  1. I think the last check on this was 2-3 million for a full build of common level 25s. While yes, that might seem like a lot of money for a new player, it is incredible easy to generate even on a new character. I can do it casually over a weekend by simply pulling common salvage and then common level 50 IO recipes from the market and then selling them to a vendor. Hit 50 and you can cakewalk that amount and more on a night's playing. With some marketing and doing a Posi, a new player can set up multiple characters to hit 50 being slotted this way.
  2. You won't be getting decent recharge on a Posi anyway. Not to say Traps doesn't have this as an issue. I'm saying it is worse in that situation. I ran Posi I & II tonight and in all honestly I felt like I was doing better soloing higher level content than I was on those TFs.
  3. Its been ages since I played my Claws/wp Brute and Spin has a different recharge time it, but FU + Spin + Shockwave can be a chain with the right recharge. I feel like even on my Brute those three worked as a chain. Note, I use Hasten. Focus + Shockwave can keep a boss on its butt if need be. Generally speaking, you take one of the first two attacks, one slot it since you won't need it in the end, skip Evis, and 6 slot if possible everything else. I 5 slot Shockwave with Bombardment and then the KB/KD. Claws is plenty fast enough even using WP and without the FF proc. I say this as a speed nut. I only put the -Res proc on Slash. Not Claws/wp, but this is how I did my Claws/ea.
  4. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of characters I took to 50 with common level 25s isn't in the 30+ range. Most of them never got touched even after hitting 50. They played fine. I barely used IOs sets on Live, and only on one character. Another benefit of common IOs is you can strip them from a character and give them to another character you have without worrying about their origin. If I was starting out, I would either have a solo base where I stock pile common IOs, or do so with uncommon IOs where I frankenslot a build until later. Any set bonus would be simply that as it would still be better than using purely commons, and uncommons can go for rather cheap prices. Even if I hardly use them anymore, my base has a number of crappy uncommons stored just in case. I would be okay if a mythical CoH 2.0 never used TOs, DOs, or SOs.
  5. I know it isn't FX light, but my default would be SS/elec. It handles Rage crash as well as anything can. I had mine in the 40s until I realized I didn't like SS.
  6. I'm enjoying my Plant/ta. I need to work on and finalize a build for it before I go much further. Back on live, Plant/fire was the first Dom which clicked for me, but it sadly passed far too soon in a Hardcore SG.
  7. And not saying it is a cure all, but at least Earth/ta has proc potential.
  8. (holds up mirror)
  9. Just note if you log into a different character, this still works. This is why it is so easy to check the AH between characters.
  10. I had a guy in my SG on Live who's main was an Ice/kin controller. He joked about how when he finally got to Epics he could do some sort of damage. This is pre-IOs. There are some genuinely fantastic combos for controllers in the game which are brutal on mobs, but are simply poor at doing damage. Ice/time is going to want to find as many places for procs as possible. Ice Slick, and then run in and let those two PBAoE auras proc away.
  11. And you can't kill them either. 😏
  12. You could name a character via the original OG version which inspired Barbie. And yes, the original was a high-end call girl. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild_Lilli_doll
  13. S/L will be easier to get to cap. Melee on my Brute is 35% as where S/L/E are capped. For WP, you also want +HP and Regen.
  14. Much like the movie, I can't be made to care. Refresh is about as close as I would get.
  15. I would easily double my value if I factored in builds which are done or enhancements which are on hand.
  16. I don't know about Discord, but as someone who runs a board gaming group for the past 11 years, you would be surprised how wrong the perception is that women don't play games.
  17. I've only done 1 costume content on Homecoming and got third. As soon as I saw another person I knew I wasn't winning, but for the person who got first I'll never understand them even placing.
  18. In all honestly, the biggest advantage of Discord is being able to access numerous different groups beyond the Homecoming community in a single website.
  19. I just wished the AoEs were bigger. They are the smallest of any set. That fact really stands out on a Tank.
  20. I ran my current main, Claws/ea Scrapper, last night and did a few missions solo(+3/x8). I think just from the mobs I gained around 10 mill.
  21. See Arbegla's response above. I ran /traps MM on live. So you put down less stuff down on each mob. It really isn't that big of a deal. In the current meta, there pretty much isn't a build which on the right team you can't go half-speed and feel like it is fine or even hell just standing around and soaking up the rewards. I've played various builds with TA in them and had whole missions if I shot two arrows I was done with the powerset for that mob. In terms of moving between mobs, I am to a default the first one there to the next mob, so I see little reason why even as a MM I or anyone else would be lagging behind if they play it right.
  22. It might have been more than one person, but there were four identical characters on my team with what looked like three of them spouting out gibberish. Typically it was one of them saying the keyword they had in their names.
  23. Unless something is said in LFG, I'm essentially oblivious to it as all my characters have a single tab for it. Fun fact. I played with someone yesterday who by all accounts was running four characters as they all had the same keyword in their name. It felt like they were spitting out gibberish outside of the one when they mentioned how much they like using their AI speech tool. Thankfully it was just a DFB, and I left after it was complete. Needless to say I didn't get the badge for killing the AV before the rest of the mobs.
  24. With many sets yet to play, I find Croax's ranking rather accurate and a good place to start for those looking at making a genuine S tier Stalker.
  25. It's in the running since it offers -Res. I will just point out Beam has some -Res and -Regen. I think it's easier to find primaries which are lacking versus ones which are 'the best.' I'm honestly surprised Time hasn't been mentioned.
