The one that I got which stood out the most within the last number of characters I made was Refresh for a Elec/elec defender. Less surprising, but a name which is growing on me is Within Reach for a Savage/rad Brute.

Is there a modern 3D tool which is capable of doing the task? Could not the Homecoming team add the cost of said tool into monthly funding?

The build is a mess. First of all, I would look into getting some common IOs into your build as that is what I converted it over to, but you can slot in the DOs if you want, but they really aren't that cheap in the long run as you can remove the common IOs and slot them into any other character you make. Also, you can slot level 25 common IOs across your build and be fine even at level 50 until you can slot in higher sets. I switched around the build for what I would be aiming for at level 15. Fire/dark is end heavy, and it won't really be resolved until you get IO sets and hit level 50. In terms of staying vertical, DN is your early security blanket. You also want Shadowfall next for its defense. 1 end, 3 Def on a basic level. Corruptor (Fire Blast - Dark Miasma).mbd

I'm pretty sure I have two characters done including all T4. I can name only one of them. I'm far more likely to park a level 50, than to get them to T4.

I'll just point out the moment Brutes clicked for me was when I soloed an EB with no inspirs on a Dark/elec Brute, and I had likely at best common IOs. I would have to search for it, but I know someone posted a Claws/elec Brute which has some really impressive numbers on it. I meant to copy it and maybe build it myself at some point. Claws is still best on a Scrapper due to Spin having a shorter recharge. Claws is forever exempt friendly since it's ST chain is done with Focus so it is there for all TFs and down to level 12 for any Flashbacks. In terms of a damage aura, this also partly depends on diff setting. If you are going against smaller mobs, you are less likely to benefit from a damage aura. Armors with a damage aura tend to be sacrificing overall defensive mitigation for it. The build is older but should be fine. I am using it as a template for the Brute version as well which is performing as expected nearing level 30. I figure if I got Bill Z's approval it was at least solid. Like, I don't think I ever even switched to the official end game build for the Scrapper. If a boss can't deal with KB, then they really won't like how fast Focus and Shockwave recharge. I remember being on a team with at least one Kin. My attack chain was FU + Spin. Seriously.

And another one!... (looking for a specific Fire Farm build)
Without_Pause replied to Nellz's topic in Brute
Exactly. I dual box a character a couple runs and slot them out with level 25 IOs and just play them normal after that. That's pretty much the only point to farming for me at this point. If someone wants to build a /fire Brute for the sake of farming and pound out endless runs out of the build because that's there jam, then great. Knock your socks off. The Market thanks you. Just accept that: 1. /fire Brutes aren't exactly the king of the farms like they used to be. See farming guides. 2. I could formally take a character from 1-22 on a single tunnel run using a 2x booster. It's now level 17. 3. The Market forever remains the king of 'farming' currency if you look at time invested. Outside of dual boxing a character or helping a SG mate out, the genuine reason to farm is to simply generate more stuff for people to buy from the Market. Case in point, my biggest source of purples has been farming. The more purples I farm the more I can sell to other people. Not because 'Hey, profit,' but so they have access to purples as well. -
The point is /elec offers +recharge and Dark has Haunt which you can get back faster along with your controls.
-
I would also suggest flipping it, Dark/elec.

I will point out that if you are soloing at level, then there is a whole lot of any/any for what works. The two things I recall(years ago mind you) that annoyed me about Gold side was end drain and Psy damage. You might want to lean on things which protect against those, but it might be a lower issue based on your level of play, and honestly not much handles Psy. For Savage, I think its best on a Brute due to DoT and Fury. I would lean on sets which bloom earlier although to be fair with recent changes that issue isn't nearly as big as it used to be. I do think Savage plays well enough early on. Claws is fantastic in this regard as well. Claws is absolutely best on a Scrapper though. My only complaint about things like Axe and Warmace is slower powers, and the fact that you essentially need the T9 to really fill out the build. Ice isn't a great looking set, and it is noisy, but that thing is amazing on a Stalker. I love StJ, but its AoE's are on the smaller side. If you are dealing with smaller mobs, that might not matter. For Defense, Shield is great, but blooms slower. Things get much better if you pair it with something like Dark. EA is a favorite. I can build a character to where Psy isn't that bad considering it is a weakness. Its tools come later, but I don't find it that bad leading up to it. More so if you are doing even level missions. I IO out as I go along mind you. Oh, Radiation Therapy for Rad can slot a +end proc in it. That can be a super end friendly build even at low levels since it unlocks as a secondary at 16. I really need to redo my Savage/rad Brute knowing what I know now. Savage itself is end friendly, and offers recharge which just fuels the clicks for Rad. Honestly, for simple even level playing, Willpower is pretty nice. It has end recovery and some Psy mitigation. It's not top tier, but that's not the requirement. Its only real issue is when debuffs start to land. Stalker, Scrappers, and Brutes are great for soloing even level content. My only complaint with Tanks is their damage when you are facing normal sized mobs and depending on the damage type. I think the Stalker issue with ambushes are over stated. 1. Other ATs still get ambushed. 2. The Stalker ATO procs turn the AT into much more of a Scrapper so putting up numbers isn't really an issue if they start out not hidden. I don't even think I wait to go back into Stealth on my Stalkers.

In all honesty, those days are gone. If you have the currency to fully pimp out a character, odds are you don't need a farmer. The market will more than cover you. But by all means, as stated above, there are numerous threads in the Guides section on how to build one even in the current meta. -
Correct. I was adding to the list of why I prefer EA although I am working on a SR Scrapper build currently. I might eventually switch it to a different Primary/AT.
-
I know there's a benefit to it as well, but the click mezz protection is slightly annoying.

Semi-related. As someone who has played the game for a long time, even a new player can simply sell anything not IO related and just use IOs even if they are common IOs. You can IO out a build using commons for dirt cheap and that build will work perfectly fine for the vast majority of content. Even before IOs, I got to where I didn't slot anything until level 22 for SOs. Now, I would simply craft level 25 common IOs at 22 if I wanted to do it as low cost as possible. These days I generally do slotting in three stages. 1. Use a stash of uncommon attuned IOs and mix and match as needed and putting in desirable one off IOs until around level 27. If I get any bonus, then that's already better than a common IO. 2. Once I hit level 27, I can slot pretty much anything for the build outside of purples, etc. 3. Hit 50 and go all out. But again, you can slot in level 25 common IOs at level 22 and be fine.

+1. Dull Pain isn't a straight heal so don't wait too long on it. A Kat/invul is be rather hard to kill once you get going. FYI, I joked with a tank on my last Synapse TF where my DB/sr Scrapper was running around and pulling and herding. A conversion started between us, and I joked they should try being faster than I am. They responded that wasn't easy to do. 😆

A -Res proc will not stack with itself even if the proc is used by more than one person. Two different -res procs will stack with each other. -Res will likely seem the lesser proc if you are soloing. Stacking -40% Res is going to matter on a team and far out do damage procs.
-
You also might want to simply look at slotting Dehydrate more as an attack versus healing. You may want to sub in one of the end mod sets which offers ticks of HP depending on how you feel about end usage. The point is, if you are staying at range with that much def, heals might not be so required. You'll have to play around with it because even with that much def, you don't really have any DDR so that def can go bye bye in a hurry.

What builds/power sets are able to tank/solo +4x8?
Without_Pause replied to foosbabaganoosh's topic in Scrapper
I still partly think it depends on the situation. I did a solo at +3/x8 for a LR mission redside with my Ice/stone Brute, and I blame death(s) on not knowing the mission. I think +4/x8 is more than within the range of being done, and that's without the character being done. There are some configurations of Longbow and Arachnos missions which just simply rip that build to shreds. There are other redside missions which are simple build checks. More so if you have the flag for soloing AVs on. I think my default for that build is +3/x8 since about the only real thing doing +4 is there for is more currency, which I'm not lacking anyway, and my own ego. I prefer just getting through missions cleaner. -
I think the combo will work incredibly well. I think people can get a bit too caught up in terms of things being top tier. Case in point, I'll likely delete my En/ea Scrapper at some point. Yeah, I know. En just doesn't work for me. On a Stalker, it has even less AoE. Wee? I know the numbers say it is top tier. It just doesn't feel right to me. I probably should have given my Elec/shield Stalker a longer run, but I just kept seeing all sorts of no in the future based on how I like to play the game. Case in point, I hate long animations, see En. Of the Stalkers I have rolled, I got StJ/ea to 50, and the only other Stalker to really stick is Ice/stone. Ice Patch is cheat mode, and Stalker Ice is the best Ice. I can take that build against a comparable level Scrapper and solo on a higher diff setting with it. Maybe even a Brute. Note, we are talking different power sets. My Ice/stone Brute can be tanky as hell.

The Medicine Pool was much more a pre-IOs thing. I can't fathom finding room for it on a build now.
-
Just a quick general observation. Nothing should require 2 End. More so using level 50 IOs as that's near 3 SOs in terms of numbers. A single target attack should be 1 acc, 1 end, 3 damage, and maybe 1 recharge. Multi-target attacks do 2 acc, 1 end, 3 damage. Dehydrate needs acc. Geyser, Whirlpool, and Tidal Forces slotting is all sorts of no. They are attacks. Slot them as such. You don't really want to slot Def Debuff into Stream Spray unless it is a proc. More power to you if you can get to 50 without a travel power, but I can't fathom doing so. You need the Defender IOs to help with Ranged Def as that will be the easiest to cap.
-
To add, Kin is built for speed. Propel's animation time is long. If you need to pop a quick Transfusion while using Propel, you are stuck waiting. Wormhole comes late and has KB which Grav doesn't default into controlling so you need an IO for it since Kin really doesn't like KB on average. I think Grav could use some tweaking regardless of what it pairs with, but more so if you want to pair it with /kin.
-
As stated, WP being on a melee type with a bigger HP pool is going to offer more regen and thus be better. Just note Spin on a Scrapper has a shorter recharge than any other AT. Picking an AT for Claws is mostly about how offensive versus defensive you want to be.

Whatever tin foil.

The game hasn't been around for 20 years. Certainly not with an actual dev team. I wouldn't call the horde of bugs this game has as anything else. Hell, I play another game with an active dev staff for over a decade and that game has bugs rather easy to see. Saying fixing bugs is anything to do with the devs trying to nerf farming is straight up tin foil hat wearing.
