  1. All I can say is that I would be super excited to play Regen if these changes were made. Honestly, in the world of some builds being able to softcap all types/positions AND get capped or near capped resistance to several types I don’t think this would be too crazy. Regen and heal would still be the main sustain of this set, but it would actually be really good at it consistently. Devs, I motion that we implement @Bopper rework.
  2. I won’t try to argue that stalker won’t do the most damage. I think that is true on most sets due to assassins strike, assassins focus, and their ATOs. However, I built out a DB/EA stalker as a result of this thread and I have to be honest, I still like the combo better on scrappers. A DB/EA scrappers still does very very good damage (AoE and single target). I like the scrapper version of combos better and I prefer blinding fient to build up. There are just a few sets I like better on scrappers and dual blades is one of them.
  3. Agreed with the above. Dark/shield is one of the combos that I don’t actually play on stalkers solely because of the loss of soul drain. If only they had kept soul drain it would be a monster of a combo on stalkers.
  4. I love energy aura and wish they would port it over to tankers. Maybe they will at some point. SR is totally bananas on tanks, and they still got it, so I don’t see a problem porting over EA.
  5. From my experience I never feel useless as a support. I am either buffing up my allies damage or debuffing hard enemies. On trash mobs it doesn’t make too much difference, but neither does another dps honestly. They die quick either way. However, on harder targets like AVs, EBs, and even some bosses support buffs/debuffs are very helpful. This is doubly so on the journey from 1-50 including PI radios at 54 and stuff like Maria Jenkins arc. I never see cheers when another blaster or scrapper joins the team. However, if a kinetics joins the team they are basically worshipped. Nothing else gets cheered as much as a kinetics support. AV fights are also an easy fight to see the benefits of heavy buffs/debuffs provided by the support. All of a sudden your damage is higher and the AV is dying a lot faster. Ive never felt useless as a support nor have I ever been part of a team where I though the support was useless. Honestly, in my experience, support are the most appreciated of all archetypes that join a team. Especially if it is a kinetics.
  6. Dual Pistols/Martial Combat fits the bill best in my opinion. You have all the fancy kicks and a nice punch. Ki push knocks the enemy back in slow motion giving you time to land another kick as they are flying away. Reaction time also slows the enemies around you. Plus you can leap in and out of combat with burst of speed.
  7. I think this is true. Just to build on this a bit. Honestly, ease of the game is purely opinion based. I have come across people in game that think the game is very hard. Sure, that seems a little weird to me, but I played the game for several years on live and also since HC started. I also have the funds and use MIDs to make very solid builds. Someone who constantly runs T4 incarnated, 500m soft/hard capped, perma hasten, proc’d out builds is going to have a completely different experience than someone using only SOs or even generic IOs. That doesn’t even take into account p2w/base buffs/powers. Someone who has played the game for 10 years is going to know a lot more than someone who is new to the game. Its dangerous territory for any player to unilaterally decide the game is too easy. Especially if that player is a long time vet of the game that runs uber builds. That really isn’t the case for everyone. IOs aren’t going away. I doubt incarnates are going away. I do not think the right answer is to make all content harder by putting in wholesale handicaps. I think the best answer is to always have options because not all players experience the game the same way. Not everyone wants a difficult game as is pretty evident given the popularity of council mobs. One of the better suggestions I’ve seen is to have an all boss/EB/AV notoriety option to apply to various content. The reason I like that is that it opens up an option rather than restricting options to one perspective. This allows people who think the game is difficult enough, or even too difficult, to focus on lower notoriety difficulties. While the power gamers can focus on harder difficulties.
  8. My vote would be rad armor. It can be built tough and built to greatly boost damage at the same time. It is very well rounded. I would personally go super strength for the secondary. It is very thematic to tankers and a great performer. It has a basically permanently large bonus damage in rage with a short crash. The biggest downside to SS is the rage defense crash. Since rad armors main mitigation is resistance and absorb the defense crash won’t hurt you much.
  9. I would love to have an all boss/EB difficulty setting. That would be awesome. Especially if it was a notoriety setting that could be applied to any content. I hope the devs see this and get intrigued 😁
  10. This is how I do my PI teams honestly. I have no problem bringing a level 1 onto the team. Although I know their contribution will basically be nothing, I expect them to at least follow the team around and whiff on enemies. Farming is a different story. I actually prefer if they stay at the door and do nothing.
  11. I have to agree. The only thing I like on my team better than a debuffer is a kinetics support. I would take a kinetics support over another dps/tank 10/10 times if I had the option. I would take a heavy debuffer over another dps/tank 10/10 times as well. I LOVE having supports on my teams even at +4/8 end game.
  12. In my builds I can fit in all 5 LOTG + rech in without using energy drain as a mule.
  13. I personally 6 slot energize with preventative medicine. Good set bonuses and has the absorb proc. I slot energy drain last as I get all the defense I need without it and energize has a great endurance discount so I don’t rely on energy drain much. When I do slot it I just put in a recharge/end mod Set IOs.
  14. My vote would be mix up your options a bit a go claws/EA (if EA is meant to be energy aura). Claws is a great performer in basically any content. Energy aura is one the best secondaries available and has an answer for basically everything.
  15. I’m going to limit my contribution to a few primaries and a few secondaries. Stand out primaries: War Mace - the slightly weaker little brother of Titan weapons. This set has great single target damage with lots of very hard hitting attacks. It also has really good AoE. Top tier. It also feels great to play. Dark Melee - Great single target damage and respectable AoE since Shadow maul was buffed. A super awesome build up replacement in soul drain. Soul drain is what all other build up powers wish they could be. Has built in mitigation to boost your survivability if you want to shore up any weakness in the secondary. The built in mitigation includes to-hit debuffs on attacks and one of your hard hitting attacks also heals you. Dark melee also has a great endurance recovery power to help with hungry secondaries. Absolute joy to play. Martial Arts - yeah yeah I know lots of people think martial arts is weak. I’m not saying it couldn’t use some tweaks, but it is popular for a reason. It is fast paced, stylistic, and just plain fun. Has one of the best tier two powers out of all sets. Just be aware it is kind of an endurance hog. Still super fun though. Stand out secondaries: Energy Aura - I always advocate for energy aura as one of the best secondaries available. It has basically everything you could want in a secondary. Super easy to soft cap typed defense even without taking maneuvers. Has some respectable baseline resists that stack with set bonuses, tough, and you can even throw rune of protection in. It has a good heal that doubles as a great endurance reduction. It also has a scaling recharge bonus that helps push your damage by attacking faster. Pairs well with any primary. Shield Defense: Great all around set that has good defense and get pretty good resists when built right. The two standouts in this set is Against All Odds (AAO) and shield charge. AAO provides a nice damage bonus when fighting lots of enemies and shield charge is really nice to shore up any AoE weakness a primary has. Also a top tier set. Super Reflexes: The best defense of all sets. Can get really good resists as well when your health gets lower. Has a nice recharge bonus to help push damage. Super easy and loose slotting allows you to chase various bonuses and procs to help push your damage. Now for some truly amazing combinations: Dark Melee/Shield Defense - these sets were made for each other. They synergize better than any other combination in my opinion. Soul drain + AAO provides a ludicrous damage bonus that has a super high uptime. Shield charge supplements the historical lack of AoE on dark melee. However, dark melee AoE really isn’t all that bad since Shadow maul got buffed. Siphon life (heal attack on dark melee) provides decent healing, which shield lacks. This combination has it all. This is my absolute favorite scrapper combo by miles. Martial Art/Super Reflexes - a popular classic. Great for the “natural” themed concepts. Feels fast paced and is a lot of fun. War Mace/Energy Aura - this combination is strong and pretty. All jokes aside, when you take one of the strongest primaries and couple it with one of the strongest secondaries of course it’s going to work out well.
  16. Agreed. I may be in a minority, but some of the downright disrespectful and ungrateful comments in this thread are why I think we should have downvotes. Though I guess some of the emojis are used as such. You’d think people would be grateful that there is a talented team of individuals doing all this stuff for FREE. Yet, we still have people throwing the team under the bus under the guise of “feedback” or “criticism”. People need to be more grateful and less entitled. Feedback and criticism is fine. Disagreeing with the devs is fine. However, being downright disrespectful of the VOLUNTEER dev team is unacceptable.
  17. All great stuff! I’m really excited to test it all out! Thanks so much for all the hard work. I know it was talked about in another thread back when it was brought up. Can you confirm that the hail of bullets fix will get released with page 6?
  18. I invite you to look at each of the monthly recaps for finances and donations. They show with statements where the money is going. None of it is going to developer time. The donations have nothing to do with adding new content to the game. That is all developer time, which is free. All the donations go to cover costs in running the servers as has been clearly shown. Also, ready Jimmy’s post again.
  19. I’d say tactical arrow is the best for a purely ranged hover blaster. It has everything you need for such a secondary and is a very strong secondary regardless. I’d call atomic a blapper secondary. It wants you to be melee range to get the full benefits of it.
  20. There is no mismanagement of funds. They have them accounted for to the penny and display how all are being used. They cut off donations to not go over the expected costs to run the servers. All donations are costs to run the servers. None of it is salary to hire additional developers or to pay themselves for the time spent developing and managing the game. They have been completely transparent with finances and donations and people know exactly what they are donating to cover.
  21. This sort of response will not get anyone to consider using discord who already has reason not to. At best it is an insulting dismissal of player preferences that don’t align with yours. There is absolutely nothing in CoH that requires voice chat. Nothing. Although I don’t use discord I am not unfamiliar with voice chat in games and I find it at best unnecessary in most cases, and at worst completely distracting and annoying. Also, it doesn’t matter what reason people have for not using voice chat. They are playing the game for their own enjoyment and are allowed to have whatever preference they so choose for whatever reason. Sorry if it offends you, but some people just don’t like voice chat in games. You need to realize not everyone is the same as you and learn to respect others choice in how they pursue their own enjoyment of the game. If you like voice chat, then use it. Those who don’t like it are free to do what they like as well.
  22. Stream of consciousness takes me back to reading Beloved in back in my school days.
  23. @InvaderStych All fair points. I elected to just mention you instead of making a big quote. I totally understand wanting to make sure endurance is not an issue as it has always been one of the most annoying parts of COH imo. I think part of the reason I was t having any issues while leveling my rad/SS is because I used sets as soon as I was able to slot them. So by default I had endurance reduction in everything due to the nature of sets. I didn’t really take that into consideration because I put sets in all my toons as I level. Comparatively I think rad still offers great endurance management, however, I understand slotting sets definitely helps any set, including rad. Second point, about particle shielding and its recovery boost. This is awesome, however, I understand wanting to save it for mitigation. My rad character is a tankers, which has much higher resists and higher hp and is able to weather attacks better than a scrapper so I can use it for recovery without much of an issue. I can see how a scrapper would be different. All in all, I think the TOE proc is definitely a good candidate for slotting, even if I don’t personally use it. Perhaps more so for a scrapper than a tanker.
  24. My vote would be Energy Aura. It has really good layered mitigation potential with a very solid defense baseline. The ease of defense softcapping allows me to forgo maneuvers and pick up rune of protection instead. I like to stack rune with the values offered by EA, tough, and set bonuses to get pretty solid resists with 50% uptime. Energize is amazing. I use it proactively for the endurance discount, which is awesome. However, it is pretty much always available whenever I want to use it as a heal, which isn’t often. Between energize and endurance drain you have endurance fully managed. You also get +recharge to boot. I do like super reflexes. The only thing it has going against it versus energy aura is no built in heal/endurance management. The scaling resists are pretty awesome though. That said, I prefer super reflexes on tanker.
  25. I personally would choose rad armor over either of those. Great resists with some good healing/absorb. Great endurance management. Best of all, good boosts to damage via straight +dam, +rech, and proc nukes.
