Ooooh, proc-y goodness!

Thanks @biostem...Dark was one I considered as well. You make good points!

I am trying to play powersets I have never played before, or ones that flat did not exist when I stopped playing Live. I thought I'd give Poison a whirl. My first thought was to pair it with Water, as it has some synergy (a lot of the attacks include -Def) and the powers are easy enough to re-color to fit a poison/toxic theme. Thought I'd ask if others have a fun pairing they'd recommend. I am probably only going to use 5 powers in Poison and do something fun and use the Experimentation Pool for some additional attacks (Toxic Dart and Corrosive Vial) to tie in to the theme (meaning I'll have to take 3 total powers out of Experimentation). I am also going to use Speed (Hasten), Fighting (Boxing/Tough/Weave) and Leadership (Maneuvers/Tactics/ probably Assault too). I think if I laid it out right in my head, I'll have room for 7 powers from my secondary set. I am going to try to use Procs as much as I can. Anyway...what did you find fun to pair with Poison and why?

Not to derail this thread, but how do you set saturation for Invincibility in Mids?

Favourite/most hated enemy group
TungstenShark replied to FenrisWolf44's topic in General Discussion
Favorite - Council/5th Column - Who doesn't like whooping Nazi ass? Least - Malta is definitely up there, with Sappers, Engineers summoning adds and Gunslingers teleporting around. -
In my effort to try more powersets, I want to give DA a go again. Last time I played it on Live it was still Scrapper-only and I don't think Savage Melee was even a thing yet. Here is my current working build: This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.2.17 https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! This was more of a blueprint for where I wanted to be at 50. The Incarnates were ones I cobbled together from other posts and not set in stone either. I was able to soft-cap Melee defense and cap resists for S/L/F/C/N/P. My Energy and Toxic resist are lagging behind and not sure how much that may hurt me. Offensively I elected not to use an Epic Pool to pick up an attack, as I did not have the slots for it anyway. I used some Procs where I thought they might be appropriate. Basically my experience with both of these sets is limited and I welcome any and all feedback. Thanks!

If Granite Armor is not active, what can you use it to mule?
TungstenShark replied to TungstenShark's topic in Tanker
Thanks @Bopper! Granite makes for a heckuva mule if you need it. -
If I want to run a non-Granite build but take Granite to use for muling, which IOs can I stick there, meaning, which ones will be active even if Granite is turned off? LotG: Global Recharge Steadfast Protection: Resist/3% Def Gladiator's Armor: 3% Def Unbreakable Guard: Max HP Kismet: 6% Accuracy Impervium Armor: Psi Resistance Reactive Defenses: Scaling Resistance Shield Wall: 5% Resist Aegis: Psi Resist
-
With Scrapper's lower inherent resist caps (than a Tanker or Brute), the popular thinking is Def-based secondaries are excellent on Scrappers. Which also means Stone and EA are great as well. 🙂
-
Energy Aura also has additional Recharge which War Mace loves to get those simple attack chains (though I believe Stone Armor does as well? Not sure without looking).
-
Looking forward to hearing updates as you progress and learn more!
-
Glad to hear the combo is proving so effective (other than runners). How do you think this will compare to your Claws/Bio build, both offensively and defensively? Obviously a ways to go yet and plenty of Inf to drop on IOs.
-
I am envisioning a nasty ranged (hover) debuffer for hard single targets like AVs and this seems a great combo. Does anyone have experience with this combo (or just strong opinions) and want to weigh-in on whether they feel a Defender or Corruptor is a stronger AT to run it on? And anyone that wants to share a build is encouraged to do so to give me a starting point. 🙂

Energy Melee Attack Chains, ATOs and a Build for review
TungstenShark replied to TungstenShark's topic in Scrapper
Thanks @SomeGuy, I was unaware of the issues (or maybe discrepancies is a better term) in a couple of the powers. I played around with slotting and sets this morning and managed to soft-cap all typed defenses, though it sounds like I am still technically short due to Psionic defense issues (which is a bit of a bummer to find out). No doubt I am giving up some damage output to chase defense. A few comments on my build: As stated, I wanted to see if I could soft-cap all typed defenses. I would like to try to find a way to shed some S/L defense in favor of better resists. I still have two slots un-assigned I can play around with. I intentionally left Incarnates out of this build and wanted to hit my goals without them to give me more flexibility in Incarnate choices. The slot assignments are out of order so disregard the levels I slotted certain powers (this was not meant to be a leveling build). Any and all feedback or critique is most welcome! Energy Melee Attack Chains, ATOs and a Build for review
TungstenShark replied to TungstenShark's topic in Scrapper
Thanks to you both @BrandX and @Bill Z Bubba! Very helpful! Your feedback helped me narrow down the attacks and slots needed. I am trying to build an EM/Stone Scrapper (to try out both sets on a Scrapper) but not having a ton of success in soft-capping the typed defenses (particularly F/C). The tinkering continues. -
What is the optimal single target attack chain for Energy Melee (and the Recharge numbers to get there)? Do you lead with Total Focus, then go Energy Transfer and Bone Smasher? Do you need Energy Punch in the chain at all? For AoE, you only have Whirling Hands and Power Crash so pretty simple there (without accounting for any Epic power pools). And finally ATOs...where best to put them? Critical Strikes in Total Focus, Scrapper's Strikes in Bone Smasher? If you have a secondary with a damage aura, is there any benefit at all to putting one of the ATO sets there? EDIT: My build is a few posts down

War Mace/Energy Aura - Who has a good build?
TungstenShark replied to TungstenShark's topic in Scrapper
Egads! Totally correct. I was dropping them in to see where they might fit, then never took the extras back out. Gah! See, it's the simple stuff kids. No, I was trying to see how much I could push in the base build without including Incarnates. No question I can get a boost in that regard. I'm still tinkering, as chasing recharge certainly has an effect on the resist/defense numbers. -
War Mace/Energy Aura - Who has a good build?
TungstenShark replied to TungstenShark's topic in Scrapper
This is what I have worked up so far in Mids. I have no idea how to reach the Recharge numbers I have seen elsewhere, as I chased it wherever possible. Entirely possible I am doing something wrong in Mids with the calculations. My resists are pretty abysmal while some of my defense numbers are too high and others not high enough (Negative and Psi). I was not focusing on a leveling build, so the power choices by level and slotting by level are obviously not optimized. I kept saying I wanted to try War Mace and have still yet to pull the trigger. I decided to pair it with Energy Aura because I haven't tried that one either and being strong and pretty should always be the goal in life. One of the appeals of WM is the simple attack chains (both single target and AOE) IF you have high enough recharge (as I understand it, around 250% or more). Who's got a good build they like that's performed well for them?
-
Bopper, do you have a Mids file for this? I do not play a lot of ranged classes but this concept looks tough enough to be fun.
-
@Vulpoid What detail is that around the eyes? Impressive replication of the whole Iron First look! I just wanted the mask...you managed the whole thing! Well done!

Thanks @Frozen Burn, I'll have to play around with it tonight and see what looks tolerable. Thanks for the effort!
