  1. I find it strangely ironic that after I posted that, I realized that my Influence had hit 143, which is my hero Mr. Roger's favorite number because it represents the number of letters in "I Love You".
  2. Before I start up the game, I tie my wife and kids up and lock them in the basement... ...does that count?
  3. I've heard of people working on such a thing in secret... I don't know why. I kind of figured with the source code being released a whole community of open source mods would be happening. But it's not, for some reason. Disappointing.
  4. I asked a while ago for an Off Topic board. I doubt they'll do anything before they switch to new forum software.

    How

A good rundown is summarized in the Unofficial Wiki: https://coh-homecoming-unofficial.fandom.com/wiki/City_Of_Heroes:_Homecoming_Unofficial_Wiki
  7. There may, however, not be very many ones available that in fact fit your concept for a character. If you have a fantastic idea for a villain named The Cockatrice then there might not be other names that work and you have to come up with something else entirely. Sometimes that's okay, sometimes it's a disappointment. It isn't like costumes are exclusive or like there can't conceptually be more than one person with a particular name so that CoH character names are exclusive is mainly because of the technology used. Let's see... The Green Cockatrice Cocatris (from the old French) Calcatrix (Latin) Ichneumon (Ancient Greek) Basilisk (similar creature) Cock-a-trice Cockatrice Forever Magical Cockatrice Le or La Cockatrice (add a foreign word gender modifier in there Here's some similar stuff from Thesaurus.netj - I like Roc, etc... etc...
  8. Know that this is a polite request, not a demand. I am not going to attempt to force you to post the way that I want you to post. Communication is two ways, there's a sender and a receiver. Both parties have to work to try to make communication work. If either part doesn't do their job well, then proper communication doesn't happen successfully. Here's a case where what some people on these forums is doing is causing issues for me communicating with them. I think sequentially, and I'm used to a sequential line of thought. So, when you do this: I see this: When I first read that post, I read the response first, and I'm confused what the response is about. Then, I read further and I receive the full context. However, this is inefficient and confusing for me, because I have to flip my brain around several times to ensure that I have my items in the right order. However, if you do this: This I see this: Then I can make IMMEDIATE sense of the message, with the full context, because it follows a sequential flow. I said something, and because of that something that I said, you think I'm dumb. Fine, great! Message received! Well, not great, because that's not very nice, but the point is that the message got across MUCH clearer, and was fully understood without much work on my part. I like that. Now, this is not such a HUGE deal when it's short posts like shown in the screenshots, but when the quoted text and responses are over a page long...it can get... troublesome. And when you have different people quoting in different orders, some placing the quote before the response, and some doing the opposite... it can get VERY confusing. So, please, save my autistic brain and consider placing your responses to quotes AFTER the quotes themselves, rather than responding before placing the quote in the post.
  9. Of course. A horse is a horse? Of course of course, and who ever heard of beating a dead horse? Unless the horse, is of course, the famous Mr ED. +1 Inf.

  12. I like this idea, but unfortunately that could cause issues for people on tighter budgets not being able to count on exactly when such a debit could occur. And someone being bumped up several spots because X amount of people couldn't be charged one month(regardless of why), could put someone into overdraft or NSF fees charged by their bank. I realize some may counter with better budgeting, spending habits, or whatever else, but this is just the reality for a lot of people. And I'm sure the last thing the HC team wants is some auto process to cause people to overdraft on their bank account, or get chargebacks because someone forgot they were signed up and they get the bank or HC to refund the money. I feel it would carry more overhead and other potential risks than would be worth it. That's no issue. HC knows when their bills are due. If they setup a queue, they'd know when they'd use the funds of each person in the queue. They can make those dates public. If someone can't do it, they just cancel their line in the queue and the next person takes their place.
  13. Please, tell us how you REALLY feel. Don't hold back!
  14. Exactly. In my opinion, what's "good" or "viable" is what brings something valuable to a team... what allows a player to "earn" their "way". That isn't necessarily always DPS. Often times, damage mitigation is needed. That's why I say that ANY build is "viable", because something that Cryptic/NCSoft/Paragon Studios did really well was design the ATs in such a way that EVERY set of power choices contributes something to the "team". You have to REALLY work hard to "gimp" yourself enough that you being on the team is somehow worse than you NOT being on the team.
  15. After you get that mission, you can't "go back to her" if I recall correctly, she's yanked out of her spot in the game world, at least for you... and cell phone doesn't work anymore. For, reasons...
  16. I think a queue system should be setup. Limit people to a $25 donation and put them in a queue to wait to donate. That way, everyone gets a chance to help.
  17. That's what friends are for.
  18. EVERYTHING is viable, but not eveything is for everybody. The build you disdain just obviously isn't meant for you or your interests and playstyle.
  19. You make it sound so easy! Why didn't anyone think of that already???
