  1. Your watch theory comment #2 is interesting. I don't believe I've seen that from anyone else previously, but it would be fun to see that explored.
  2. You make an excellent point, and I'd forgotten that one of the most popular games out there is Minecraft, something I've never played, only viewed the pics and vids. So there is a way to connect despite graphics.
  3. Sooo...about that Rolex...any ideas? My thoughts:
  4. I'm pretty sure Massively and every other gamer news site, especially those that reported the CoH was back in 2019, would created a massive free advertising blitz with trumpeting the news of an official NCSoft sanction. That alone would probably double the population, and that doesn't include the potential recruits from the dropping of comment bombs in the general chat of other games, and even "water cooler" talk at work and school. One thing you could put into advertising is this game's ability to work with older graphics cards, something that's becoming more necessary for players on a budget as the graphics cards continue to be overpriced and sometimes hard to acquire. That all would be a short-term boost. The trick is converting the curious into long-term players, and recruiting beyond that initial rush. That likely means reaching a younger generation. In an age of impressive graphics being more or less a standard, I'm not sure how my nieces' generation would appreciate the game for anything more than an old-school curiosity, like Pong or Pac-Man. Perhaps I'm too harsh, though. They, as a collective player group, may have more tolerance for "old school" than I credit them for.
  5. I do think an instance would be the way to go with that consideration. If it is an instance, this would allow for villain side to get involved as well. A lusca could appear in connection with one of the isles for villain side. I'm not suggesting another cooperative effort launched from Ouroboros or Pocket D, though with the low red-side population, that may be more practical.
  6. I wish! He was the first I thought of but I only selected living voice actors and sadly... 😔
  7. I'd been thinking along somewhat similar lines, though I was considering a "gold palms" add-on for succeeding in the harder challenge of not using incarnate powers. That said, maybe the way to go is to have a "grandmaster" badge where the instances ramps up to include features that demand the use of incarnate powers.
  8. How can it be called "arrest" when they're flying all over the room? We need a better descriptive catch phrase...like Jackson Pollock. The meteor Jackson Pollocked those mobs...all over the walls.
  9. Good episode!
  10. Okay, that is just creepy.
  11. That makes sense. (Though I'm sad it was so easy to guess!) It also explains why the Sky Raiders are stuck with Captain Castillo!
  12. Welcome home! The game is most forgiving nowadays, so I encourage experimentation if you have any lingering doubts. For example, you can make a duplicate of your character, but pick a different secondary. Go talk to the P2W vendor next to the side of the Atlas statue and under the Temporary powers options, find the settings to run at 2x for experience points (which means no currency as a trade off). You can load that or either of the two lesser settings up to 8 times. Run your alt through "Death From Below" (DFB) with an Atlas-based team a few times, or get a farm team run for those under 20 to rapidly advance to the same level as your current character. If you don't like the powerset combo, fine. Drop any enhancements or salvage you've earned into in-game emails to yourself (your "@global" address), and erase the alt. But if you do like it, then simply rename your original to [Name]OLD on the character login screen (it's free and quick!), and quickly rename the alt to the name you wish. Then login, grab the stuff from your e-mail box, use or sell for INF (currency). As I said, the process can be very forgiving now. Enjoy!
  13. Has it ever been revealed whom is the wealthy benefactor bankrolling the Sky Raiders, and using high-powered lawyers to keep them out of jail? The obvious guess would be Nemesis, but if its not been revealed in-game, that might make an interesting investigation, especially if it proves to NOT be Nemesis.
  14. ....or was it? One can never tell when Ourobouros and time manipulation are in play.
  15. So the question is, must a dev name it after it landing, its flight, or its origin? Seems to me, they went for the middle ground in the discussion. It does spend an awful lot of time in flight.
  16. In the sense that they market their supers for projects, yes. There is a black market for magical artifacts, more than just what the Warriors deal. It's hinted at with people having a history with the Midnighters Club. Mercedes Sheldon, for example, takes the high road, using a natural gift to the see the auras of artifacts up for auction (and presumably acquire them for the MC.) Darrin Wade's description shows him to be a broker of "lost information and ancient artifacts". I believe we actually witness him in a transaction in one of the redside stories, though its been a while since I did anything that side. He's possibly your closest analog. As to tech and science, I'm not sure. Something tickling the back of my mind says that the Sky Raiders do some tech trading, but I can't point to chapter and page. I'm pretty sure I've also seen something about underworld trading of abandoned/captured Rikti technology, but I can't point out where. I'm reasonably certain we don't have a clearinghouse character or group, at least, not one covering tech, science, and magic. Oh sure we have the Black Market and Wentworth sites, but they don't fill the story function in the game.
  17. I was chatting with the league mates tonight while we were taking Lusca down and wondering if it were possible for a coordinated league to drop Lusca all at once. The league feeling was that though it was feasible, it would be incredibly hard, since the Lusca dives as soon as a limb is destroyed. We've got a lot of players who like to go for "Master Of..." kind of stuff, so the suggestion is: change Lusca so that everything doesn't stop & submerge immediately. (Call it a moment in the throes of pain if you need a reason for it.) Leave a very few seconds to destroy other parts of the GM before it sinks. Then give "Master of..." type badges. This gives you a challenge akin, but harder, to dropping the two robots together in BAF. I'd suggest 3 tiers (like skiing), but the top tier is the real bragging rights: 1. Gold level: participation in a league that drops Lusca's 8 tentacles and head in one attack. 2. Silver level: participation in a league that drops Lusca in two attacks. (Probably 4 tentacles / 4 tentacles & head) 3. Bronze level: participation in a league that drops Lusca in 3 attacks (Probably 4 tentacles / 4 tentacles / head) Lower badges to be awarded if a higher badge is earned first. Player must be part of a team or league for badges. One point to work out: participation/interference from others not in the league (or perhaps forming their own league). Possible solution: challenges conducted via an instanced event.
  18. Tiny bit of a The One vibe. Also...nice to see Rocket has found work outside the MCU, even if it is a bit part...in another multiverse.
  19. I'm picturing him as Dr. Vahzilok. Combs has a great ability to portray put-upon moral self-righteousness. He might do as Clockwork King as well. Obsession is another thing Combs does well.
  20. Not so much back as dopplegangered, at least as suggested in the current description. Still, 'nough of a mystery there that a TF sounds plausible.
  21. Rogue server SWG Legends: has anyone around here played on it? I'd like to know thoughts on it, especially if any once played and loved Star Wars Galaxy. I'd long heard about the game, but never got to play it. I used to hear as much "I miss it" chatter for that game as for CoH. So I'm naturally curious about it.
  22. Statesman: Keith David Back Alley Brawler: Kevin Michael Richardson. Ms Liberty: Erica Lindbeck (Black Cat from the Spiderman PS4 game) Blue Shield: Steve Blum Lord Nemesis: Liam Neeson (though he'd probably have to fake a residual Prussian accent) Ghost Widow: Jennifer Hale Clamor: Tara Strong Arakhn: Nika Futterman (Ventress in the animated The Clone Wars) Montague Castanella: James Arnold Taylor Synapse: Jake Johnson Captain Castillo: Jim Cummings (Hondo Onaka voice actor in Star Wars animation) EDIT: Lord Recluse; Clancy Brown ...still working on a few
  23. Give the archer a retractable sword, a leather hood, and a cool rogue name and turn him loose on the city's mob population. Therapy solved.
