  1. Definitely has a big downside, sure. It isn't the most OP way to play. But it is different, and variety is something I seek in this game.
  2. Is Acid Arrow worth taking nowadays? All it does that seems noteworthy is -def?
  3. Not sure. I have nailed them repeatedly and they will run towards me a bit, then give up and walk back. If I alternate who I strike, I can keep firing at a pretty decent rate doing this without any of them actually coming to me.
  4. Been enjoying playing around more with my Psi/Energy blaster, and fighting from far enough away seems to lose the agro too. Is that supposed to happen? If so... this could be a form of defence?
  5. lol i forgot about It. Its ok at the early levels but useless later on. You have plenty of AOE without it, and from within melee.
  6. I dusted off and played around with my Psi/Energy blaster today. Psi is the longest range blast set I'm aware of and Energy has Boost Range. It makes for a very unique playstyle. Useless in many maps, but so very unique on big outdoor maps, shooting stuff so far away that they can't return fire and having them just within draw distance. Has anybody else tried this? If so, did you use his power combo or a different one?
  7. Storm Blast goes surprisingly well with Poison. I hightly recommend. Storm blast's frequent knock down makes being in melee safer. There are no cones forcing you out of melee.
  8. Oh I see. You are valueing number of slots over number of power picks?
  9. Or just make it a toggle like with the other ATs... I thought it already was.
  10. I've seen a few people point at heals for preventative and other procs.... Is there a reason why you don't just use the Health power? Do they not work there? They can be slotted there.

    Poison works amazingly well on a defender. Not so great on other ATs.
  12. Doesn't having high DPS make the end drain redundant, becuase as you say the red goes down faster than the blue?
  13. What is the difference between the end return on the electricity blasts and just a discount on endurance? It works differently? I suppose you have to hit to get the end return on blasts, so an end discount would be better?
  14. I notice that endurance drain is marked as percentage based, whereas damage is raw numbers, so does that mean endurance drain is particularly useful at fighting enemies higher level than yourself and really bad with lower level stuff?
  15. Well that is a disappointment. What would you say is the best "Sapper" build other than electricity control?
  16. On further look... it seems maybe HOmecoming changed this? Defenders have higher drain values showing in the character creator.
  17. According to Mids Defenders don't get any higher values over Corrupters for draining the blue? If that's so, is there any reason to play Poison/Elec over Elec/Poison as far as sapping goes? The poison trap (to prevent blue regain) seems the same too. Is Elec Blast just plain superior in every way on a Corruptor?
  18. The only issue I'd ever have with bots in this game would be if they were spamming the broadcast, lft, help, etc channels with adds or something. Why should I or anyone care if people "bot" to play the game? Just don't team with them if you don't like it *shrug* This game doesn't force you to team with anybody.
  19. I imagine double XP, obsessions with being level 50 and endgame, etc, has hidden this extremely well.
  20. It is a handy power for taking alphas for a team, especially at low level (you get it at level 1). You jump in before anyone else, can gather them into a clump if desired, and then your team mates can open fire without taking the initial enemy attacks. You can't hold aggro hardly at all (once they get attacked, enemies will switch from you to who attacked them), but the mere going in first allows other players to do so much. Get off nukes safely, get off PBAOE controls easy, etc. Later on there are better tools for this sort of thing (Controllers have pets now; you can IO yourself to high defence anyway, tanks can get in there and hold the agro, etc), but in the early game this is a really really useful power.
  21. Storm Blast has good AOE. Very good AOE from what I've experienced. You just do single target attacks with storm cell and/or C5 active and many of the others get hit from the added lightning. There is a lot of it if you just spam the snipe I have found an ideal pairing to be poison on a defender. They weakenesses of each set is covered well by the other. Storm Blast does a lot of knockdown, giving some safety for poison to be in melee. Being in melee, the storm cell follows you around (though it does lag behind, at least it will go into the next mob, which it won't do if you stay at range). What I would like to know, is do damage IOs in C5 increase the bosus lighting damage or just the basic damage?
  22. With all the temp travel powers available, do you still use a power pick for a travel power? Is there any reason to do so besides the graphics/theme?
  23. One of my favourite toons is Deep Sleeper, a mind controller who spams the sleep powers and then does the sleep animation and stands with them. It always gets the lolz.
