  1. if you stand under the cage, you passively develop charges that increase the number of bounces a power makes. Generally, standing next to your initial target will get you the first bounce, as it bounces typically to the nearest target. With cage, there is never a reason to not be in melee, so I just typically follow the tank in melee and chain buff myself with my abilities. This is from a defender's perspective, but I don't think the mechanics are different for masterminds.
  2. This is my Elec/Elec defender, currently sitting at vet level 50. It does not have anything min-maxed, but it performs exceptionally well. I can absorb the alpha and "tank" by using tricks inherent in the toolkit, including AV's, as long as I have a body next to me for self-healing/buffing. I am not setting any land speed records for clearing things solo, but that's fine, I don't really expect to do that. That's what minions (teammates) are for. I will die taking the alpha on arachnos with a lucky fortunata mistress shot, but that's what I get for not being a tank! The goal of this build is a flexible, well-rounded character that provides excellent buffs and has opportunity for self-buffing by proc-fishing to get the most out of electric's shocked mechanic. I'm looking for any feedback or missed slotting opportunities. I haven't added the soul mastery pool yet and I am currently running around with just electric armor for looks. This build subs out the shock debuff and defibrillate. Galvanic sentinel + envenomed daggers are more than enough for 4/8 AV's. Defibrillate is annoying and slow to use and honestly just use an awaken when my p2w rez is down while you're under the faraday cage, it blocks stun and I get them up and back in action fast enough. 3. Hey! Thank you, some cool ideas in here!
  4. I made a blaster build that's Psychic/Energy. I usually do ranged because the aoe's are good and usually wipe an entire mob out with three casts, but sometimes I will blap after doing psychic wail on the stunned enemies since I am already in melee and use psy tornado + scramble minds + repulsion field to keep stuff busy. My method of play usually involves spamming power boost and fishing for force feedback procs. I have the influence to waste on these purples, but maybe there is something better that I could use instead! Blaster (Psychic Blast - Energy Manipulation).mbd
  5. the heck would Dresden be doing running around with a bow and arrow? :D
  6. I can't figure out how to do a mids export. Do you LOVE clicking buttons compulsively? I DO! So I present my ridiculously expensive attempt at making a Fortunata/Sentinel hybrid but as a blaster. I have the enhancements already, so I am not really concerned with the cost. I rely on Force Feedback procs to get me close to perma hasten. This gives me almost (but not quite) perma coverage of defensive abilities by alternating between Force of Nature, Rune of Protection, and power boosted Barrier. If I can keep the recharge uptime I want, I have perma power boost on as well. I could swap out mystic flight for CJ/Super Jump/Acrobatics and probably get the same effect with a little better maneuverability and then take maneuvers for the LOTG mule instead of hover. Power boosted Psychic Wail is on a 30 second cooldown. Running into the middle of a pack of mobs with Personal Force Field up to soak the alpha, power boost, built up, drop PFF and then Psychic Wail is enough to shut down everything with little risk. If things are left alive, they are definitely stunned, flopping around, and recharge debuffed, so I go ham with melee attacks and Tornado/Scramble them to death. The beauty of this build even at 34 is that it feels like a combo based scrapper. The single target primary chain of tk blast/lance/punch/punch/punch with whatever is on cooldown is extremely crunchy and satisfying. Of course, this sucks against certain types of Psychic resistant enemies, which is why the crowd control effects are so handy. Procced out Tornado and Darts plus energy melee attacks are what I have to rely on then. If they aren't psychic resistant, however, I shred them. Here are the stats without any of the defensive abilities cycled in. It isn't defense capped in the downtime. Even with lucky procs, I still have a sizeable gap in status effect protection coverage, which is annoying! it also won't outdamage a sufficiently built fire/fire/fire, of course, but I have one of those already! Any thoughts on how I can improve this build?
  7. /electric is great because you can macro all your abilities to bounce off the sentinel and get faraday cage, which gives you status resistance and damage resistance on demand. My elec/ defender tanks, so it should be faster with a corrupter's dps.
  8. What's weird is I remember that change too, but I think it was just a change to contaminated not getting secondary procs and my brain retconned it to all radiation stuff. I know rad melee is not the most exciting, but I can stand in the middle of mobs and eat a sandwich and they're all dead with no work from me. It keeps my team safe and provides some minor debuffs, to boot, so it's fine! I want to try something more exciting for my next tank though 😄
  9. So I turned on pet damage to get this. My irradiated ground doesn't have a fire proc. So it seems that brimstone is carrying through to irradiated ground. I can't confirm it working on contamination procs because the combat log goes brrrrrr
  10. I run a stone/rad tank with no granite. I am unkillable since I focused on +regen and have max hit points at all times. I never run out of endurance since granite-less stone has a recovery shield that can be slotted for endurance and heal procs. I have built in recharge and no psi hole. Brimstone procs damage on the radiation damage aura in as well as radiation contamination procs. I am a giant walking burn patch, basically. Nifty procs can be slotted in your rad powers as well. Now, if I get a bunch of toxic -regen spamming mobs, I will have to use some inspires sometimes. As a bonus, the effects look thematically similar when you run all the stone armors with minimal FX now. No poo suit!
  11. I should clarify that my perspective is that of a HP capped non-granite tank. The heal bursts are pretty nice, but I agree once your build gels and has defenses in place they may be better used elsewhere.
  12. Hey thabks Hey! Thank you so much! I do believe I can make all these work together to make something super beautiful now. Non granite stone really is so easy to work with.
  13. FWIW you can put the "chance to heal" proc in any power that takes endurance modifications, including the stone armor that provides energy/negative energy/recovery. As a tank (so ymmv) I have one in stamina, that armor that i forget the name of, and body mastery. I get a lot of healspam from it and im generally topping off my health before it even needs to regen, should something manage to actually hit me (non-granite). Try it - it should fire off enough in stamina and that armor to be a pretty steady supply of green. Since its a % of your hitpoints, perma-ing earths embrace gives even beefier returns.
  14. These all manage to do different things and yet are all great builds! Stone is so versatile now. I really "dig" it. 😁
  15. Hi all! I got my Stone/Rad to 50 and got some incarnates. It's super fun since the synergy between contamination and brimstone is really pretty. I make clouds of numbers, and I find it amusing. However, now that I'm here, I want to make a few builds. The build im running around on is literally some uniques with mostly lvl 35 invention IO's so it's time. BTW she is relatively sturdy with just this setup, so anything extra I can squeeze out of it would be lovely. I plan to eventually run with multiple builds. This is my non-granite which is my every day tank. I would like to have a granite build for times when granite is necessary (I haven't had anything flatten me in non-granite yet, but I know it's out there!). I would also like to have a build that does more damage for soloing. I probably don't need extreme tankiness for that build. But I'm not there yet, so I'll focus on just the non-granite. My goals are to have typed defense at 45 or higher (ofc) and then boost my resists, especially S/L and energy. My secondary goal is to cap my HP and get as much regen as possible, since stone armor really plays towards regen as a strength. My third goal is to make sure I have enough blue and slow resist and recharge to keep everything fun. This build probably has a lot of nonsense in it. That's where I am hoping someone can help! Here is the long form build: and here is the data chunk:
  16. i actually did go ahead and build it on test and swapped parasitic for evasive maneuvers. evasive is great for debuff diving or someone who can do aoe control as their alpha strike since the defense lasts right up until you do something - hopefully long enough for all the nasty first attacks to fire off and miss. but fire has none of that fun stuff! just smashy burning. i love parasitic too, not the least because it lets me contribute to av fights a little more than just big dps by debuffing regen a little. I was able to do arachnos at 3/6 before it just got too slow. Even if i nearly one shot each mob, thats a lot of mobs to one shot in order to clear a spawn. Is it satisfying still? Yes! But I worry I'll be killing one mob at a time while the rest of the team evaporates the entire spawn.
  17. thanks! I had come up with this and it was nice to have something to compare to.
  18. I have never made a farmer and usually fund my habits by running task forces - which are a great way to see if i like a character. So I usually run around in level 35 invention origins with the various uniques slotted (performance shifter, miracle, the 3% defs). I did run it on test with fairly basic slotting and it did fairly well. its just hard to clear a big spawn one mob at a time and survive sometimes!
  19. Thanks for the idea! I know my ST chain is devastating, so I wasn't considering using a snipe. I may just go fire for theme 🙂 was also considering proc bombed caltrops for the soft aoe terror and breathing room
  20. Definitely not high enough because I need a respec and don't do any IO'ing until 50. I made a mids build cobbled off another bio build. I should post that!
  21. Ah! Weird. I assumed it was because of the data in mids. The attacks seem like they give more dpa because they are including a dot, then?
  22. You will melt faces. The damage over time part of fire is added into the crit. Your face will also be melted. A lot. Mine hit 41 and i just realized there's stuff in the game I will never be able to solo on difficulty. Super bummed about it!
  23. So I have a fire/bio I got up to 40 that shreds face. I love her. But she is the glassiest cannon imaginable. My only real defense is kill it before it kills me, which is fine until i run into a big old pile of debuffs and taste dirt. I ran her bumped up and tricked out on test and could only comfortably handle 3/5, but it was slow due to the lack of good aoe. Single target though? Wow! So I want to continue my face shredding journey but I need AOE to handle it. Was thinking rad for proc bomb, or maybe ice for icicles? Stone has brimstone which can crit and does have great layered defense outside of granite plus recovery/recharge too. Shield as well, with shield charge. Does anyone have any ideas or good fire/ combos that they've enjoyed with the new change to fire melee? Do you worry about aoe or just erase bosses with single target smashes?
  24. A useful prod for elec is the power transfer heal (heals you, with almost each attack). You can also put in call of the sandman for a 15% of your health heal. Force feedback can go in lightning clap with the kb->kd converter for a nice recharge. None of these are necessary, but power transfer can be two piece frankenslotted to give 6% regen with the heal proc + a damage enhancement. Whether this is needed for a tank? Probably not!
