  1. Thats pretty much what happened in a nutshell and a trend I've observed on higher level teams in general. It's frustrating because it seems inefficient and unnecessarily stressful!
  2. ah! see, i normally tank. I love tanking! So when I go from group to group, I usually taunt the bosses that arent locked down as I move to keep them flowing with me to the next fight. Sometimes i will fold space stragglers in to me so everyone can enjoy the aoe blasty goodness of a nice packed spawn. This team wasnt doing that. they just had 2 people running in (tank and team lead), aoeing down everything to half, then running on to the next group. The rest of the team was left to fight the stragglers, which they werent equipped to do damage wise. Anyway, it was just one toxic jerk. I ignored him and learned how to put stars on his name so I don't have to deal with him again!
  3. This is a stupid concept build I tried out on test while checking out the liquefy change. The goal is to put the -resonance toggle and knock back toggle (slotted to knockdown) on Singy and teleport him into mob packs with liquefy underneath him. It's like watching npcs be dribbled as if they are basketballs. I intend to use this for teaming as I found the combo to be ridiculously slow damage but excellent in the support side of things with 45% ish so resist, status protection, -res debuffs, and the aforementioned dribbling. However, I suck at builds and its been ages since I played a controller - not since electric went live! And I played her to 40 before shelving her due to frustration with electric.
  4. Wait, if you put the procs in ball lightning you miss out in 30% global recharge! You can split one of the sets 3-3 for 10% from both and the second set gets 10% on the fifth piece. I'd consider slotting ball lightning with the 5th piece and then proc slotting short circuit. This is how I did it on my elec/elec, the procs are nice and reliable in those two powers!
  5. I use this buf didn't know it was a slash command! I had it for people on my global friends! Going to go through my global ignore and add some notes! As to the other replies, the rushers consisted of the tank and team lead. I've noticed a lot of teams doing this lately: run into mob, aoe down minions and lieutenants, then run off and leave the bosses. Like the bosses will stop following eventually I guess? But for at least two spawns they will just pick off your lowest health members. I don't even understand the point of this style of play tbh. Even I can kill a big pack of minions, it's not like it's super hard. And if everyone stuck behind to kill the bosses, they would die just a few seconds later and cause less stress to support!
  6. ah I see exactly what you mean, and I've had it do the same thing, too. As a defender, it's definitely not a fun time for me when this happens!! It's a shame too, because cold/storm lets me focus on storm blasting as mitigation through knockup (jet stream kb->kd) and amuse myself with my entertaining graphics. But the storm cell mechanic gets left behind on steamroll teams, and the final nuke is so impotent i may as well just proc slot sleet instead!
  7. How do you handle people being toxic at you specifically as a defender? I was on a team fighting level 54 content with people that were probably too low level to be significant dps contributors. As a result, the tauntless tank would run in with the team lead, who was a dps focused character, wipe out the minions and lts, then rush off to the next boss leaving the carnie bosses behind. The low dps members would struggle to finish the bosses, and as a result, the two teams split into the straggler group and rush group. Now, I'm playing sonic/sonic with leadership toggles and the sorcery absorb rune, but my bubble is only so big, so I'm trying to linger with the slowpokes and keep the rushers buffed. Well, of course, as i move to refresh the rusher buffs, the lingerers had a death. I refresh the rushers, fly back to the lingerers, and then a rusher dies. I tell people to regroup, bring all the mobs together, and focus on the master illusionists as I spotted a new player trying to kill a phantasm. At this point one of the teammates, a controller, yells at me for telling him how to play because he knows how to play, and I shouldn't give advice since I let two people die. Like i'm sonic/sonic, if you do something like run away from me and get yourself killed, that is on you. There is nothing I can do to save you from your own stupidity here, brother! The best I can do is try to shape the flow of battle so everyone benefits from tightly packed, debuffed mobs while being buff covered. But it put a big nasty taste in my mouth for this character, even though teams have generally loved having her. One guy told me I made him actually enjoy synapse because he got to control the resistance bubble (/time secondary who lived in melee and was good at sticking with the mass of mobs). Have yall seen an increase in nastiness in groups lately? I'm worried we are going back to the bad old days of "heals please".
  8. my storm cell doesnt aggro anything at all. did you put procs in it, maybe?
  9. thank you, i couldnt even use the equip hotkeys and this fixed it!
  10. just a tip, if something is drained and running around, it isn't hitting anyone. It won't pull other mobs back to your team unless it has a debuff anchor (like snow storm) on it. You can use your other tools like tornado (with a kb->kd enhancement) to keep them bouncing around instead of running around, or gale them and knock them down with kb->kd. Many things ignore speed debuffs, but very few things ignore knockup/knock back. Hurricane should never be used in the middle of mobs. It should be used for area denial and ranged attacker protection. I generally (on live) would jump in, end drain, then hop back out and have tornado/hurricane running after dropping freezing rain. This is significantly easier to pull off on homecoming since they made changes to the sapper mechanics. Remember also hurricane provides significant protection by debuffing range. That means touching a dark ringmistress or a fortunata with hurricane effectively neuters their entire attack set.
  11. yea, kin is indeed awesome! I had a kin/elec on live. This is elec/elec though and does its own thing, which is why i asked for feedback :)

Sorry to necro a thread, but I started this combo today and love it so far. I got to 27 in one day just taskforcing and felt like a Rockstar. Does anyone have a good build they can share? I tried for this one with an eye towards maximizing personal defense, defense debuffs, and took +regen incarnates, but I don't know if barrier wouldn't be better to just lean into maximizing defense. I can't get AOE defense up to soft cap. Endurance will be a perpetual struggle and I am light on accuracy. Defender (Force Field - Radiation Blast).mbd
  13. if you stand under the cage, you passively develop charges that increase the number of bounces a power makes. Generally, standing next to your initial target will get you the first bounce, as it bounces typically to the nearest target. With cage, there is never a reason to not be in melee, so I just typically follow the tank in melee and chain buff myself with my abilities. This is from a defender's perspective, but I don't think the mechanics are different for masterminds.
  14. This is my Elec/Elec defender, currently sitting at vet level 50. It does not have anything min-maxed, but it performs exceptionally well. I can absorb the alpha and "tank" by using tricks inherent in the toolkit, including AV's, as long as I have a body next to me for self-healing/buffing. I am not setting any land speed records for clearing things solo, but that's fine, I don't really expect to do that. That's what minions (teammates) are for. I will die taking the alpha on arachnos with a lucky fortunata mistress shot, but that's what I get for not being a tank! The goal of this build is a flexible, well-rounded character that provides excellent buffs and has opportunity for self-buffing by proc-fishing to get the most out of electric's shocked mechanic. I'm looking for any feedback or missed slotting opportunities. I haven't added the soul mastery pool yet and I am currently running around with just electric armor for looks. This build subs out the shock debuff and defibrillate. Galvanic sentinel + envenomed daggers are more than enough for 4/8 AV's. Defibrillate is annoying and slow to use and honestly just use an awaken when my p2w rez is down while you're under the faraday cage, it blocks stun and I get them up and back in action fast enough. Defender (Electrical Affinity - Electrical Blast).mbd
  15. Hey! Thank you, some cool ideas in here!
  16. I made a blaster build that's Psychic/Energy. I usually do ranged because the aoe's are good and usually wipe an entire mob out with three casts, but sometimes I will blap after doing psychic wail on the stunned enemies since I am already in melee and use psy tornado + scramble minds + repulsion field to keep stuff busy. My method of play usually involves spamming power boost and fishing for force feedback procs. I have the influence to waste on these purples, but maybe there is something better that I could use instead! Blaster (Psychic Blast - Energy Manipulation).mbd
  17. the heck would Dresden be doing running around with a bow and arrow? :D
  18. I can't figure out how to do a mids export. Do you LOVE clicking buttons compulsively? I DO! So I present my ridiculously expensive attempt at making a Fortunata/Sentinel hybrid but as a blaster. I have the enhancements already, so I am not really concerned with the cost. I rely on Force Feedback procs to get me close to perma hasten. This gives me almost (but not quite) perma coverage of defensive abilities by alternating between Force of Nature, Rune of Protection, and power boosted Barrier. If I can keep the recharge uptime I want, I have perma power boost on as well. I could swap out mystic flight for CJ/Super Jump/Acrobatics and probably get the same effect with a little better maneuverability and then take maneuvers for the LOTG mule instead of hover. Power boosted Psychic Wail is on a 30 second cooldown. Running into the middle of a pack of mobs with Personal Force Field up to soak the alpha, power boost, built up, drop PFF and then Psychic Wail is enough to shut down everything with little risk. If things are left alive, they are definitely stunned, flopping around, and recharge debuffed, so I go ham with melee attacks and Tornado/Scramble them to death. The beauty of this build even at 34 is that it feels like a combo based scrapper. The single target primary chain of tk blast/lance/punch/punch/punch with whatever is on cooldown is extremely crunchy and satisfying. Of course, this sucks against certain types of Psychic resistant enemies, which is why the crowd control effects are so handy. Procced out Tornado and Darts plus energy melee attacks are what I have to rely on then. If they aren't psychic resistant, however, I shred them. Here are the stats without any of the defensive abilities cycled in. It isn't defense capped in the downtime. Even with lucky procs, I still have a sizeable gap in status effect protection coverage, which is annoying! it also won't outdamage a sufficiently built fire/fire/fire, of course, but I have one of those already! Any thoughts on how I can improve this build?

  19. /electric is great because you can macro all your abilities to bounce off the sentinel and get faraday cage, which gives you status resistance and damage resistance on demand. My elec/ defender tanks, so it should be faster with a corrupter's dps.
  20. What's weird is I remember that change too, but I think it was just a change to contaminated not getting secondary procs and my brain retconned it to all radiation stuff. I know rad melee is not the most exciting, but I can stand in the middle of mobs and eat a sandwich and they're all dead with no work from me. It keeps my team safe and provides some minor debuffs, to boot, so it's fine! I want to try something more exciting for my next tank though 😄
  21. So I turned on pet damage to get this. My irradiated ground doesn't have a fire proc. So it seems that brimstone is carrying through to irradiated ground. I can't confirm it working on contamination procs because the combat log goes brrrrrr
  22. I run a stone/rad tank with no granite. I am unkillable since I focused on +regen and have max hit points at all times. I never run out of endurance since granite-less stone has a recovery shield that can be slotted for endurance and heal procs. I have built in recharge and no psi hole. Brimstone procs damage on the radiation damage aura in as well as radiation contamination procs. I am a giant walking burn patch, basically. Nifty procs can be slotted in your rad powers as well. Now, if I get a bunch of toxic -regen spamming mobs, I will have to use some inspires sometimes. As a bonus, the effects look thematically similar when you run all the stone armors with minimal FX now. No poo suit!
  23. I should clarify that my perspective is that of a HP capped non-granite tank. The heal bursts are pretty nice, but I agree once your build gels and has defenses in place they may be better used elsewhere.
  24. Hey thabks Hey! Thank you so much! I do believe I can make all these work together to make something super beautiful now. Non granite stone really is so easy to work with.
  25. Yes, they changed it quite some time ago.
