  1. this Why can't we just make an Archetype by doing to the Dominator what was done to the Defender (to get the Corrupter)? Take the Primary and the Secondary and flip them. Assault/Support. No fuss, no muss. On this part I'm just spitballing. Model their Passive on the little known "bruise" mechanic that certain Tanker powers get: Every time you make an Accuracy check against a foe you also get to auto-hit with a small-but-stacking To-Hit debuff on them. Maybe 5% per Accuracy check, and max out the debuff at 17.5%?
  2. Right now, if I edit a post there is text added at the bottom to say that. That is just lovely. However, there's no whitespace between the last line of the post and the "edited" notation. I'd like to suggest adding a horizontal line between them, like already exists above signatures.

  3. Sounds like a worthwhile goal, but I tried going to this page. I ran a find for either location or self. I looked through the powexec commands. Can't find the command you're referring to.
  4. Right, but that's misleading to someone who hasn't delved into the numbers. P.P.M. has the dubious distinction of being three things: Because of the late introduction when on live, new to many returning players. One of the only Enhancement effects that doesn't have an accurate number in the tooltips. The sort of complicated formula that scares players off. I'm interested in cleaning up the tooltips so they're intuitive.
  5. This is really two suggestions. I've noticed newbies and returning players from before their introduction both keep asking the same thing about P.P.M. effect Enhancements. Can we include a newbie-friendly line in the existing P.P.M. paragraph that says the following? "This enhancement adds an extra effect to a power. The effect has a chance to happen whenever you successfully activate the power, such as when you initially start a Toggle power." We already have hover-over tooltips that say how much an Enhancement benefits us. I realize the tooltip on the Enhancement can't know what you're going to slot the Enhancement into. Can we add a line that only appears after the Enhancement is slotted? If so, we could have a line that shows the calculated % chance per activation for that slotted power, and instead show a calculated frequency on Auto powers.
  6. Thank you for the other information. Can you elaborate upon #4?
  7. I didn't find that because that wasn't in the "guides" subforum. I've been planning to put together a comprehensive Enhancements guide that would link to other guides and various wiki pages for more info on certain points. His post is exactly what I was looking for regarding some of this information. Thank you.
  8. I'm using a browser other than Edge, Safari, Chrome, or Firefox. I'm curious if the editor may not play nice with others.
  9. For those who don't know, Enhancements occasionally say they'll give an extra effect that activates randomly, sometimes called a proc, and give an example of how often the effect will trigger. When placed into an "Auto" power such as [Stamina] the effect triggers more often than a clicked Power like [Build Up] or [Aim]. The purpose of this thread is to get information about how often these Enhancements really activate. Once confirmed for Homecoming I'm going to include this information in a guide I'm putting together for the "guides" subforum here. Some basic information I'm looking for: Does the Enhancement roll dice to see if the effect will happen or is a timer used? Is the enhanced power being activated what makes these Enhancements roll dice to see if the effect will happen? If I haven't used the enhanced power for a long time is the effect automatic? Many dice rolls in C.o.X. actually use a "weighted" dice roll to eliminate long runs of bad luck. Is the dice roll for these weighted? If so, how? If the Enhancement is in a "Toggle" power does the effect happen in the same way as an "Auto" power, a "Click" power, or something different? Do things like [Haste] affect the rate the Enhancement's effect will happen? If multiple copies of the Enhancement are on the same toon does the effect happen with the same frequency?
  10. The new "tags" system in the "guides" subforum is supposed to be there to allow us to easily find what we're looking for. I'm taking inspiration for this from StackExchange, which is a system of forums that are designed to be viewable either by their tags/keywords or in a feed similar to Reddit subreddits. There doesn't seem to be any real logic to what threads are pinned and what threads are left to their own devices. (I initially presumed they'd be the "meta guides" about guides, or guides about the forums, or info about installing the game, etc., but that isn't the case.) I'm picturing a guides subforum that ditches a "forum" system in favor of a list of all of the tags that have been used in the guides section. When you'd click on a tag you'd get all of the guides that had that tag. Please swap the usual subforum for a list of all of the tags that have been used, with a click on the tag displaying a list of all threads that used that tag.
  11. Cutting and pasting of tables is also giving inconsistent results. Does the text widget interpret them as tab delimited? The time I got the table to paste out to a .TXT editor I got tab-separated text.
  12. No. The post has been edited. Get your original printed instruction manual out. The Powerset looks nothing like I4 Regeneration.
  13. This Powerset was reworked shortly after launch (and for good reason, there were major balance problems). Right after that, the way things worked was someone'd use [Haste] and perma [Instant Healing], which was possible using nothing more than S.O. Enhancements. Both Haste and I.H. (again) were reworked later. Many of the "armor" Powersets have an [Overload]-like button, often as a T9 skippable. I've never understood why I.H. couldn't be a crashless version of that skippable T9 other Powersets get. Basically, make M.o.G. without a downside the "reason to take the Powerset," This could rekindle interest without much else being touched. Powersets used to be balanced within themselves, not against other Powersets, so why wouldn't this work? Isn't that exactly what we'd want?
  14. I've been playing a fair number of teleporting toons and have used some binds that used to be quite popular. I am writing this guide to help you take advantage of them as well. Teleport and Mystic Flight There are two main teleportation binds that I use. You know how you have to use the power tray's [Teleport] button, then click into the game world somewhere? One of them removes the need to activate that button! Instead, you can just hold Shift when you Left Click to teleport yourself immediately. This isn't just easier when travelling. This opens up Teleport as a useful combat tool, allowing you to blink around a room during a fight. I've used this to move around a big room when my party needed me to be somewhere, and to save time when quickly escaping combat. If you use Sorcery's Mystic Flight you can also bind [Translocation] in the same way, but I personally feel the benefits are smaller. The binds are in a box at the bottom of this post. Recall Friend Ever drop in combat only to find the enemies standing on top of you, making you unable to revive easily? Back in the day a large number of Defenders would use [Recall Friend] to pull downed teammates out of combat. This would allow the teammate to use Awaken or other weak forms of revive without the fear of the same enemies that just killed them. Additionally, I often use Recall Friend to help my teammates reach the door of a Mission more quickly. To lessen the annoyance factor of someone immediately going to the hospital or complaining about being recalled unexpectedly, I created a bind that adds a private message to the person you're teleporting. This common courtesy also cuts down on the occasional teammate that doesn't realize they split the party complaining about you reuniting them. The bind is in a box at the bottom of this post. How to re-bind them: You can just copy any of these three (including the slash symbol at the beginning) by highlighting them and using Ctrl+C on your keyboard. Then, open the game. Get ready to type just like you were going to say something in the chat. (Maybe hit Enter, maybe click into the chat bar, whatever you usually do to talk in game.) Paste the bind into the chat bar by hitting Ctrl+V on your keyboard. You should see the copied text appear in the chat bar. Then, hit Enter like you're trying to say the text in chat. It doesn't matter if you correctly type the bind or not, you won't see anything until you try the bind out, so immediately try the bind out! Here are the binds: Teleport /bind lshift+lbutton powexecname teleport Mystic Flight /bind lshift+lbutton powexecname translocation Recall Friend /macro RF "tell $target, I'm about to move you to my location.$$powexecname recall friend"
  15. You are saying you'd get immunity after the resurrect, right? So you'd still have Debt for initially getting killed. Presumably the duration of the cooldown and the duration of the Debt protection would be equal? If not, do you see anything wrong with letting a player get Debt then daisy-chain Debt protection as they get dropped and self-rez over and over? If the recharge is equal or longer, wouldn't you rather just stay alive more?
  16. How would this idea interact with Debt?
  17. Please address the following possible solution. My understanding is that the way the game handles certain things is to spawn invisible no-clip objects or mobs and then apply an effect relating to them. When there is an overflow of how much Aggro is needed, can't we have Gauntlet spawn an invisible no-clip mob superimposed onto the Tanker with the same Protection, Defenses, and Resistances? There is currently code that refers some of the damage a Mastermind's pet would take to the Mastermind, we could have 100% of the damage taken by the invisible mob referred to the Tanker. Question: Is this possible?
  18. Thank you for the willingness to code a fix and the prompt resolution. Excellent!
  19. Speaking as someone in the industry, failing to accommodate for human error is bad design. I'm trying to delete a post I made in the Scrappers subforum, but I can't find any option to do so. For the time being I've just replaced the body of the post with an ellipses. Can we get an option to delete our posts, please? I hate to think of the occasional empty post.
  20. I've tried all of the export formats. I get an error message with any option (except plain text with no formatting). Long posts of unformatted text? Seems like a severe thing to subject us to.
  21. The forum has been redesigned, and the new design doesn't allow me to give someone Influence (or doesn't obviously, anyway). What drove this change?
  22. Would a trickle of new Contacts and Missions in Kallisti Wharf be an attainable goal? I presume The Coming Storm is more than the Homecoming devs should be expected to chase.
  23. Neat. What's the attack chain sequence? Why not [Rise of the Phoenix]? Something I don't know yet?
  24. The zone had no enemies, no Contacts, and all of the traffic was doing donuts in the same intersection. I got some screenshots. Very funny looking stuff. Is this normal?
