  1. I heard that Tspy did something similar, sounded cool, but I don't play other servers. I'd like to see Soul Extraction get a cooldown reduction while maintaining it's current usage, but let it be additionally used on enemy bodies, with scaling for minion/LT/Bosses.
  2. Oh, it's absolutely due to that whole latency/don't get ganked/falling to death thing. Especially the latter, I believe the power originally did not have the hover at first, and it didn't go well for that old internet. Now, though - it's pretty clear that most people generally have better internet than back then. The hover remaining, but breaking the second you make movement would be good, though I don't think it's necessary for those with the shift+click port binds. Main thing I want to go is the incredibly slow activation/recovery of the power, when a teleporter clicks a location to port to, he should be THERE. Compared to CJ or SS, it's the least practical travel power for confined spaces/combat.
  3. The orb ones for both control ATs are the worst, especially controller since at least dom's other proc is really good. I'd probably suggest something that boosts overpower's chance to fire off, maybe have the psi proc be global like the SoA one.
  4. You should try speed of sound, it's even better.
  5. "Ah, but my ridiculous notion of game balance must be brought to this total lost cause of a level bracket!" To those in support of these changes: Nerf/change judgements and there will be another thing that trivializes these groups anyway. At the incarnate level, there are things that make judgement look like a joke. Are we going to change those next? Where do we draw the line, now that we've set precedent?
  6. Only "A-holes" here are the people who want to change how other people play an ancient MMO because they fancy themselves as armchair game designers. Nothing wrong with the incarnates, if you don't like it, oh well.
  7. Crazy idea: Leave it alone and keep your awful alternative ideas to yourself.
  8. After redoing my grav/storm, I feel obligated to give this one a bump. 🙂
  9. My troll would approve.
  10. Not really that much, one shotting bosses with control is nice, but it's hardly unplayable. Global recharge doesn't JUST benefit domination. As for the ATO thing, it would be nice if the fiery orb was actually useful, or replaced with something useful.
  11. This idea is so bad that you should apply for a job at Blizzard.
  12. I derped hard and checked the actual patch notes instead of the beta notes. Thanks again.
  13. Wonderful news. Are the notes public?
  14. I disagree with most of your 'strong opinion' section. Highlighting one part and ignoring everything I'm responding to comes across as disingenuous. Aside from that, we could spend the next several pages discussing our design philosophies, disagreeing on certain things and why we should leave it alone/change it. I don't really see the point in that when it's clear we're pretty firm in our stances. Your dismissive arguments don't convince me, my arguments don't convince you.
  15. Huh, is that why the out of place looking icon is always on my debuff bar, triggering my mild OCD? >.> (I put it in stam.)
  16. Because - and this is where we are going to disagree - it doesn't need to be looked at.
  17. I think it would change a few things considerably, of course, things that require a lot of recharge to function at the highest level, but you're right that the community would likely adapt. I however, don't see the reason to rock the boat here. Fix regen, fix energy melee, fix martial combat's scaling, there's plenty of powers that need a look far more, and aren't nearly as controversial.
  18. I usually don't agree either, but if we take rage as an example, nerfing a power like that without adequate compensation and not fixing it for an indefinite amount of time hasn't ended well when HC tried it before. Hasten would require even more time to fix rage. Do I like the fact that hasten is so important to the point of basically being mandated to max out your character? Not really, but I don't like the idea of removing it, as it's more trouble than it's worth at the end of the day, in my humble opinion. I am very much against actions that will make people's favorite characters they are attached to less effective by a very considerable margin. Nerfing/removing Hasten would do this for a LOT of people and their builds.
  19. I -think- we agree, y u laff? :<
  20. I'm a harsh critic when I spot something shortsighted, especially when the person pushing the idea is acting a bit unlikable. In theory it's something to think about, like "What if this worked that way? what would happen? How would we address the problems that would arise from doing that?" but would never actually support changing a super important power based on the reasoning given.
  21. A good designer will assess the problem, consider the context of the problem, consider if the proposed fix would have consequences, and decide if it's worth devoting resources to, over say - buffing regen. Needless to say, as a software designer, I'm inclined to disagree with how you both view and approach the feedback thread.
  22. I think only tankerminds and human shades take it. The latter just being due to how easily killed the essences are. Last time we had a grand sweeping attempt to balance the game, Jack almost killed it and regen's still in a coma from the aftermath of that. Going back to that isn't something I ever want to see. Make bad things more worth taking, leave the good things alone.
  23. I get that, but there's a difference between balancing a new game, and changing something in an established game that's been balanced around and iterated on for the better part of a decade. I appreciate the desire to improve things, but these posts strike me as shortsighted.
  24. Instead of nerfing hasten, why not make other pools a bit more enticing? How about instead of nerfing weaken resolve, which was already pathetic, give people a reason to take that and not take the "standard" high end setup of leader/fighting/speed/jumping. CoH's balance is too far gone to try and "save", and certainly if we take the OP's approach and remove anything that crosses some made-up inconsequential line in PVE. Does hasten make the game unfun? Does hasten oppress other players in any way? Does hasten make a good build bad or a bad build good? Does hasten automatically enable you to solo +4x8? It's powerful, sure. There's zero reason to change it, and changing it is going to just cause dozens of worse problems. Don't know why people are suggesting these awful ideas lately. First domination, now this.
