  1. Magixs got the kill shot today! One final set of rounds next weekend.
  2. Today's winner was Unflushable, who said... absolutely nothing during the entire raid. There's a non-zero chance they don't know they've won anything. 🙂 Hope they check their in-game email. Another run tomorrow! EDIT: Today (12/17) I got the following message from him: "WOW! Thanks for the reward! I didn't even know I got the killshot. I was just playing to smash stuff and wasn't really paying attention to the global chat at the moment! This is a really cool suprise!"
  3. I'd butcher his name since I don't have access to my game logs here at work, but there's a player who routinely helps people on Excelsior simply get all their Long Range Teleporter options unlocked. That's some good old fashioned "TaxiBot-In-The-Hollows-Back-On-Live" level of service to the community right there. EDIT: Okuri Okami, the Escorting Wolf 🙂
  4. Great minds think alike, and so do ours!
  5. The winner today was F R E E Z F R A M E! Gratz! Another set of runs next weekend.
  6. Automatic Jack won it today! Next run is tomorrow at High Noon (central).
  7. In keeping with the theme of this thread, I didn't actually watch the video but just from the thumbnail I can tell you I have been in the presence of a cow like that and it stinks to high heaven when they open that up. They have (at least) one at the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
  8. Maybe this is intentional, or at least has been mentioned before... but when I followed the link (https://forums.homecomingservers.com/donate) on my iPad from Discord I got an error about needing to be signed in before I could get the download link. Same thing happens if I try to open the link now in an incognito browser (which I use for academic purposes).
  9. Thanks, @Snarky, just making a last minute push to get off the naughty list this year. 🙂 Today's winner was Caffeine Jitters, who said "holy <@*&$@#!>, that was me?" Next set of runs will be next weekend. Have a good week!
  10. Gratz to Couter, the winner for the 11/30 run! Couter was also following the Twitch stream and commented there: "Can't believe it. I'm just a low level. just started playing again a couple days ago" Welcome back! Next run is tomorrow! EDIT: Apologies to those who couldn't get in because the game wasn't letting me invite people and you couldn't join via LFG. There's a weird bug with the instanced raid where sometimes new invites go to random team (in this case Team 5) instead of the first available slot, and if that team is full it fails. I think the bug pops up if I lock Team 1 at any point during the forming process so I won't do that again.
  11. Recently, a very kind anonymous forum participant became concerned about the financial state of Oklahoman, Inc. and very generously sent me loads of inf, with instructions to give it away if I don't need it. Well, I'm going to match their gift across a series of MSRs between now and Christmas. For MSRs I run on Excelsior at High Noon (central) on Saturdays and Sundays (Nov 30 & Dec 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, and 22) if you manage to get the kill shot on the Drop Ship at the end of the raid you'll earn 1 Billion inf*. Here's a few rules: I'll stop all invites once U'Kon is defeated, so no jumping in late just to have a chance at the reward No more than 1 prize per @global Don't be a jerk and make me regret inviting you to the league If 1 Billion inf* doesn't mean much to you, back off the Drop Ship and give others a chance I always send rewards via in-game email to your @global, so don't put me on follow and try to open a trade window. All my MSRs are Instanced now, and we form up in RIkti War Zone (though you can still get invited after we start, too, if there is space). Real life always takes priority for me, so if I end up not being online one of those days don't get mad - I'll try to get someone to cover for me, but no guarantees. Non-flyers will want to grab a jet pack before joining. Happy Holidays and Good Luck! * The max I can email you is actually 999,999,999, but the Oklahoman, Inc. marketing team says 1 Billion sounds cooler so just assume there is a 1 inf service charge or something.
  12. Assuming you don't have it yet, you can still work on getting the badge for bumping into the shield. That's a hard one to get.
  13. I would support increasing the rewards substantially, but only if the DFB was advertised only in Broadcast with at least 60 seconds in between each ad. If you post to LFG "DFB 1/8", "DFB 2/8", "DFB 3/8", "DFB 4/8", "DFB 3/8", "DFB 4/8", "DFB 2/8"... all within 30 seconds then your entire account gets permanently deleted.
  14. I ain't reading a whole other thread on Group Fly. It sucks, but right now if Group Fly bothers you, you have to go to Null the Gull as soon as you can. That's your best solution for now. I hope we can fix Group Fly. At the very least, I'd love a tab in the character creator that let's you turn on/off all the Null the Gull stuff during the creation process. I'd almost be willing to bet that we'll get an additional currency before we see Group Fly fixed, though.
  15. If you zoom out and get a decent angle you can click on the middle top door frame to exit, regardless of the door state. I also saw recently there is an /enterdoor command, and if someone with enough patience wants to find the $loc of that specific spot on the door frame you can probably create a macro for it. Neither is an ideal option, but it's the best we have until an update never comes along. When I run LAMs with Vayne, I race to open the door (or use the doorframe trick) then incan everyone outside. It's a frustrating feature of the game.
  16. I get that (we're required by state law to watch that annually in school), but quoting that and following it up later with an insinuation that I might have ulterior motives for this makes the whole thing land differently. Granted, you popped in at the wrong time and I perhaps took it more harshly than you intended.
  17. Not sure where this is coming from, but really unfair considering I offered 2 options in what you quoted and agreed in this thread that a third option would be better, but maybe less likely given the programming needed. And in case it was unclear to anyone, I'm also totally fine with you disagreeing with the idea entirely. What I am not OK with is what feels like a personal attack here and from a couple others posting in this thread. Agree, disagree, or abstain from the idea itself, or offer alternatives. I'm fine with any of that. 👆
  18. My question was if all rare recipes sell to a vendor for 10k? Maybe that wasn't clear. Again, I think some rare recipes, like mini-pet recipes, sell to a vendor for more than 10k. I understand different recipes sell for different amounts on AH.
  19. FWIW, I just checked and it seems that rare recipes (at least the one I got) sell at a vendor for 10k. I actually make more money selling that one specific rare recipe to a vendor than putting it on the auction house. Maybe other rare recipes sell at a vendor for more, I don't know. If I'm not mistaken, rare mini-pet recipes are selling at a vendor for more than 10k. Surely even those adamantly opposed to this would agree that we can at least bump rare salvage up to 10k at a vendor, then... right? And, if rare mini-pet recipes are selling at a vendor for more than that why not match whatever that rate is? Or, somewhere in between?
  20. Yer in the minority there, partner. Yes. I figure anything you post in the suggestions forum has a minute chance of happening anyway (and a 100% chance of being shot down by people who live just to do that sort of thing), but I figure it would be easier to do what I suggested than what you suggest. After all, there's a list somewhere in the code that prevents selling certain items to a vendor, so just add rare salvage to that list - vs. adding a popup warning that can be made to not show in the future and track that decision someplace, plus allow them to turn it back on in the future if they want. I haven't looked at the game code, I'm just guessing. In general, though, I do think we should be doing more of what you suggest. There's a lot of knowledge about the game that exists out here (*gestures broadly at the internet*) that doesn't exist inside the game. Things like enhancement diversification, law of fives, selling oranges or higher on the auction house, etc. that I would love for a brand new player to find without having to load a web browser to do it.
  21. Couldn't agree more, Margaret.
  22. There are many items you cannot sell to a vendor and must sell on the auction house. What I am trying to accomplish is adding rare salvage to that list. I thought I made that clear in my post. For the same reason you can't sell a purple recipe to a vendor for 10k. And I'm glad you are flush and don't have to worry about such things. I'm certain the mathematical geniuses looking at the tables in the database can apply some kind of "Deal Or No Deal" math to that based on historical trends and come up with a number, but really I'm much more concerned with how easy it is to leave a considerable chunk of change on the table by accidentally selling everything at a vendor really quickly: 100k is better than 5k, and still preserves the market. It just makes those "oopsies" when you accidentally sell a rare salvage sting a little less.
