  1. Blaster. fire, elec. Here's mine: Agronna
  2. 1. Caves 2. Knockback 3. Caves 4. Teleport 5. Caves My main is a D3 with Teleport (at least until I break down, respec and get a better travel power).
  3. Any game that can kill you during character creation is a real game :D I typically roleplay a mission oriented character. So my character will happily discuss tactics and plans but doesn't chat while busy.
  4. Here are a few of mine: 1. Do not neglect to pick up the prestige powers from the P2W Vendor at level 1. They will help you a lot longer than they will the DPS classes. The Nemesis staff, in particular, does damage plus knock back. That can save your butt when solo. 2. DFB and DiB are popular for a reason. They provide quick experience. If you already know how to play your archetypes, then joining them at the low levels can help push you to where your powers make a difference. 3. If it's a slow night, don't be afraid of joining a farm team. It's boring and you won't learn anything (except perhaps gossip) but it will help youmove through the leveling doldrums. 4. I learned this back in the day playing a cleric in Everquest. Find a group of villains that are especially vulnerable to your powers. I like playing Dark/Dark. Anything psychic pretty much has my name on it. Hope these help! What are some more?
  5. No one loves teaming more than I. Nothing beats making a group of seven strangers into an invincible group of rampaging heroes. That isn't always possible. Leveling can get mighty slow at times, especially in your thirties when you are going solo. So what hints, tips and tricks do you know that help you solo through the rough patches?
  6. I love being a Defender. With all the Brutes, Corruptors, Sentinels and such running around I like to be the unsung hero of the party. I like being able to do my job so well that no one notices that I am doing it, much like a good servant or waiter. I like helping the other heroes exceed their own expectations and listening to the after mission chatter about how easy it was this time.
  7. I remember Dark/Dark being horribly gimped with a truly terrible pet. Then it was improved every issue until it was nerfed drastically. I remember having three fluffies out before ED. I remember being rejected by team after team because I wasn't a healer. Then I joined Repeat Offenders and experienced the joy of an all kin team. And finding friends who thought having a fruit salad team of defenders was the best. And now my defenders languish and I'm mostly playing Brutes. :D
  8. My problem with having played CoX before is that it is shocking how much I have forgotten. I think being new to the game would actually better. Not a day goes by without me saying "Oh yeah, that's how you do that" "that's where she is" or "Drat, I shoulda..."
  9. The problem with Dual Pistols is that it is way too much fun. I do not feel that the power set is over powered but it definitely feels that each new power actually does something useful. Plus it's way too much fun hosing down the bad guys. And the animations are pretty slick. I need my life back!
  10. 1. You are not Empowered. 2.
  11. In addition to sonic, you might consider a bubbler or possibly a kinetics. Or to go outside the box, a VEAT. They all get the leadership pools as standard and they all buff their team mates in as close to the 'always on' Everquest style of bard buffing (with no twisting required).
  12. It depends... ;D I have played 'em all (dark/dark's that is). My personal fave is the dark/dark defender, but that is probably because it was my first. I find the the brute and controller also a great deal of fun. I have not done much with the corruptor but that is mainly due to my altaholism. I rarely feel the need for speed and I like having some level of crowd control so dark is my go to set.
  13. Here ya go Dragoncon gets about 70,000 people attending. It's kinda big. It's usually held Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, GA. If you can not or do not wish to attend, it is worth looking on Youtube and elsewhere for videos of the parade. Lots of really great costumes. 🙂
  14. What an excellent idea! I'd love to meet other heroes 'n villains.
  15. Along the same lines, two valuable resources are Google Translate and Behind the Name. So what if Thor is already taken. There are a whole lot of pantheons out there. Grab Vulcan or Haephestus or even Seppo Ilmarinen.
  16. You need to learn about fruit salad :)
  17. The players on Everlasting are more hygienic. The Reunion players are taller but have poor posture. Torchbearer is the loudest server. The players on Excelsior are the worst at spelling. And the less said about Indomitable, the better. ;D
  18. Thank you! Talking to Null the Gull worked a treat. Hayley the Widow is now a Hero!
  19. Is it possible to move your character from the red side to the blue side? If so, how does one go about it? What is the lowest level one may do it? I would love to create a Night Widow and move her from red to blue. Normally I would just create a blue character, but widows are only allowed to start on the villain side.
  20. This thread is a veritable Tsoo-nami of bad puns.
  21. I have at least five characters on each server. But I can quit at any time! It's not an addiction, it's a life style choice. Oooh 'Major Lifestyle Change'! What a great character name...
  22. A Boy Named Tsoo...
  23. Two more oldies but goodies: and
