Searching "works" it's just not the best experience right now. Entire weekend was a wash due to a pretty bad migraine, and work has been beating my head in recently. I am working on improving everything when I have the ability to though.

Sorry PK... 😕

Correct, profiles are VERY much not finished, I have to implement pagination (otherwise some members would cause my server to catch fire.. lol)

Hello all! A Reddit user dropped a SQLite DB archive of the original live forums last week, and I've spent the last few days working on converting it, and making a browse-able (and soon I swear! Searchable) version of those forums. https://forumarchive.cityofheroes.dev/ Basic stuff works right now, you can browse all threads in each forum, and view topics, no search, and user profiles are minimal at best. Any images that were posted directly to the forums are gone, and many images that were put on 3rd party hosting sites (PhotoBucket is a big one...) are also gone. The template is based off the forums on my site, as I didn't feel like trying to dig through the broken mess on the wayback machine. Feedback is welcome.

Yes, it was specifically fixed, it's even in the beta patch notes.

This is fixed in the Page 4 beta. Sounds don't stack like they currently do.

/mailview with the mail window open "/mailview mail" shows your "Inbox", "/mailview voucher" shows your "Character Items" /exitlaunch Does what it says on the tin. It opens the program at the provided path when you close the game /mmscrollsetToggleRegion and /mmscrollsetViewList are both internal UI commands used exclusively for the AE User interface, that exist nowhere else. /teamtask is an internal command used to award stuff to the character from a contact. /enterdoorvolume enters a door via a volume, as far as I can tell this is an internal command to enter a "door" via a map volume. /markPowClosed and /markPowOpen are internal commands used by the Power Info window.. I see where it is added into the UI code, but I can't seem to force it to show up anywhere..

This is still a DNS issue, and still nothing I can do about it other than waiting for DNS to propagate. As of this post the above link reports just 3 DNS servers with the wrong information, down from 13+. Most people should be able to get to the wiki without error at this point.
-
This is still a DNS issue, propagation is taking ages, and I'm not sure why. All of the other domains on this machine are fine, but the Wiki is being stubborn. https://dnschecker.org/#A/homecoming.wiki/51.81.137.198

The redirect should be fixed, DNS got broken due to some server mishaps early this morning.

Creating a "Virtueverse-like" site for Homecoming?
Michiyo replied to Archiviste's topic in Roleplaying
Creating categories is as easy as adding [[Category:YourCategoryHere]] to any page. https://fbsa.homecoming.wiki/wiki/Special:Categories This is a listing of all current categories, that is generated dynamically from the current pages. -
Creating a "Virtueverse-like" site for Homecoming?
Michiyo replied to Archiviste's topic in Roleplaying
Heads up, I've moved the FBSA Wiki over to https://fbsa.homecoming.wiki/wiki/Main_Page -
Wanted to post a link to this topic for better visibility in case it gets lost in general.

Hello all! I've purchased https://homecoming.wiki and will be redirecting the hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev subdomain to it soon, everything will transfer over, but you will have to sign into your account on the new domain (Cookies are domain specific). Wanted to alert everyone so folks didn't think there had been some kind of Hijack. Please let me know if anyone has any issues with the transition, thank you!

The only thing you can translate client side is the UI. None of the actual in game content can be translated client side, all NPC speech, mission dialog, and everything else is handled server side, which with its current design can only support a single global language at a time. (Also since NCSoft stopped supporting other languages English is the only language with all of the content).

Demos work fine, I recorded lots when I was writing my demo player. Confirm you are looking in the correct directory for your demos. If you've switched to the HCLauncher, make sure you're not looking in an older folder that Tequila used. Open HCLauncher, click "Screenshots" then navigate up one directory and you should see "Demos" (note NOT client_demos from the legacy client). If you are using Tequila you can use the same thing "Screenshots" to open the folder, up one directory and find "client_demos". https://cityofheroes.dev/demoplayer/DemoLauncher.exe is my Demo Player, if you are interested as well.

Hello! I've been working on a costume sharing site for a few days, and figured I'd drop the link here https://costumes.cityofheroes.dev/ A few folks from Discord have been testing it out for me this evening. It's still very basic, but I plan to add more if usage picks up. Please let me know what you think.

I can assure you, while I work *very* closely with the Homecoming team, the Wiki is 100% independent, runs on my own hardware, and is not funded, nor officially supported by Homecoming.

it sounds like you may be trying to use a Demo Player designed for the old live version of the game, but you are using HCLauncher to launch your game now. The file layout has changed with the release of HCLauncher. (If you are still using Tequila, or some other 3rd party launcher ignore me...) I wrote a demo launcher that works with both old live/Tequila style folder layouts and the new HCLauncher file layouts because of this. https://drive.pc-logix.com/index.php/s/z7Afpgpd9MzdWnm On first run it's going to ask you for your City of Heroes install folder, for me that is "C:\Games\Homecoming" but yours may be elsewhere, if you are unsure open the HCLauncher click the settings gear top right and then use the "Install Location" path on that screen. Then it will ask you to select your "CityOfHeroes.exe" if you are using HCLauncher that is very likely to be under "bin\win64\live". You should then be presented with the DemoPlayer UI, again, if using HCLauncher, select that radio button, select your demo file in the file list, and hit "Play". You'll also have settings you can customize in the toolbar, You'll also see a "Demo Fixer" button that will fix *VERY* old Demos (issue 3 and older) so will likely not be needed, but it is included because I horded all of my old demos.

Way back on live, Window Scale was replaced with UI Scale, the Window Scale slider still shows up if it's applicable for compatibility, for all intents and purposes UI Scale does the same thing. If you 100% insist on having the Window Scale slider, you need to scale the status window to something OTHER THAN 1, so "/windowscale status 0.9" with the options window closed, should cause the slider to show up, if you ever set this back to 100% it will disappear and you'll have to re-do the slash command.

Yes, the Wiki has been running very slow recently, because one of the drives was throwing errors but not bad enough to trigger intervention by the host. Yesterday the drive gave up the ghost, and took out the storage array, luckily I run backups so I just had to re-deploy the hypervisor software and restore backups. After some extra work today the server should be much more responsive.

Sounds like your missing a library the game wants. I'd start with installing the C++ Runtime matching your system type (x86 for 32bit, or x64 for 64bit) from this page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-140 This will cover MFC 2015-2022, and AFAIK City needs 2015.

I just created a power cust on beta, then swapped to live and it was shown in the load dialog as expected. Looking at the 3 screenshots I see a number of discrepancies that point to the 2 clients looking in different directories. As a test, make a new folder inside your powercust folder, and move all of the files into it. Do they still show up on either Beta or Live? If so then they are looking in different directories. By default with the HCLauncher, this shouldn't happen. If you are using Tequila to launch Beta or Live, and HCLauncher to Launch the other that would cause this, for instance.
