  1. Dampening bubble wants to be ED capped for defense if you plan on taking your toon into stuff with -def. Defense IOs in it increase the DDR that it provides. If you have enough global recharge you can get away without slotting recharge in it. Power Boost is nice on FF, and I'd probably take it if you're looking at HM content.
  2. I know this is the tanker forum, but I'm going to focus in on this part for a moment. Should Scrappers and stalkers ignore their armor? Should Blasters avoid using their secondary set, where some of their most powerful attacks are? Not to mention build up and their sustain power. Should Corruptors only focus on blasts and never (de)buff? Should Dominators only control, even though they are a DPS class? Those questions may sound absurd, and that's the point. Why should defenders and tankers ignore their secondary when no other AT does.

  5. I've got a Martial Arts/Regen/Soul brute that I built to be as study as possible. Never actually finished the build because I never really got that into the character, so he's languishing half built at 50.

  7. Ice/poison controller would be up there if you crank the difficulty. The end cost in the sets would not fare well for your blue bar. As for Empathy defenders, back on live I regularly solo'd my Emp/Energy/Psy on Invincible (remember when that was a difficulty?) just to prove that I could. on HC I changed him to Emp/Energy/Mace, which less safe solo, but far safer on teams.
  8. Silly question, but, are you slotting for accuracy? A single Accuracy SO (or 30+ IO) will get you to 95% chance to hit against +0s. And that's before the defense debuff in Venomous Gas (which I think is auto hit). Maneuvers/Assault and Tactics is another good choice, as biostem said, though poison can be a bit end heavy, so running two of those toggles can hurt the blue bar, but hey, two leadership picks means you can get Vengeance!

  10. Many stealth-like powers don't get as much of a stealth radius as Stealth does. This is because a few pages back the devs combined two powers in the concealment and added infiltration. I suspect you'd be opening up a can of worms if energy cloak got a buff (BTW Energy Aura doesn't need a buff) without buffing every other power that is similar in nature (Cloak Of Darkness for example) And if we buff those powers, we need to look at buffing the stealth IOs, since they would then be less useful, and power creep continues.

  14. I tested this out with Power Analyzer this morning and your are right, the -damage is always there
  15. what trouble are you having? When I bind it, i do lshift+lbutton, which (shouldn't) make a difference, but it might. never have a problem with it.

    you named it, unless you wanted to go AR/Nin blaster or AR/ /Ninja Sentinel *edit* there is a broadsword temp power you get out of Croatoa that you could technically use as well.
  17. To bounce off of what @Zect said, even my tanks that take hover stay close to the ground for various reasons. Whether it be because Foot Stomp only works when you're close to the ground, or Invincibility, or whatever other power I may have that I need more mobs close to me to get.
  18. I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say "Hover Tanking" I have a couple of tanks that take Hover for the defense bonus, the problem is, it slows you down a fair amount, so you also have to build for +movement speed.
  19. The only problem with KM is the -damage isn't up all the time, only when Power Siphon is up. As for primary, ice does more -damage than shield does, and it also does the -recharge which would be nice for team play. I had thought about doing the same thing, stacking -damage, but when I realized the KM -damage isn't up all the time, I changed my idea to a Dark/DP defender running chemical rounds. I had forgotten that ice did -damage in Chilling Embrace, it might be worth trying again.

  21. I'll throw out one other option... DA/MA... You can cap most defenses and resistances with the right build, though it is very end heavy. Planned build attached, mines currently level 30. I'll be moving Conserve Power and Physical Perfection to 35 and 38 respectively so that I can better afford the other toggles Sturmfaust - Tanker (Dark Armor).mxd
  22. You're saying the set is good when you factor everything outside of the set into it... That's not my definition of good. Energy Aura and Ninjitsu tankers before Regen tankers!
  23. I knew this would happen when the FF change was in beta. Can't make everyone happy. The problem with having any repel where there is knockdown is that you've effectively created knock back again.
  24. Not at all. Considering you're looking at basically skipping your entire secondary as a defender on a dual box, going with an MM means you can use about half of your set on AFK mode.
  25. I would say that if you are going to go Dark Armor, go Savage. Savage gives end redux which is nice for dark armor because it's a bit on the end heavy side. Electric has built in Knock protection in grounded, which is nice, but you have to be on the ground for it, so I generally still slot a Blessing of the Zephyr in my travel power just to even things out a bit.
