I've got a name/costume picked out, but haven't decided on Armor set or AT yet. AT i do have limited down to Tank or Brute, but that's just personal preference. My current thoughts are Bio or Rad, if b I go Bio, I'll likely go Tank because Offensive Adaptation goes a long way for Tank damage, though I'm not sure if I've ever run a Bio brute, so that's still on the table.

Common IOs are generally what are used for most powers while leveling up, though some people will slot set IOs as they go. Sets will be more expensive than commons. -
As an illusion controller, you have access to the wonderful "group invisibility" which will work on FFG. Also, temporal bomb is far from useless. It provides very good buffs and debuffs.

Different ATs do different things... you can't have equal effectiveness in every way because of this fact. For example, a defender is more effective at boosting a team than a Scrappers, but the Scrappers is more effective by itself.

Does your other server have a forum or discord or something? That would be a better place to ask, since HC hasn't used tequila in years.

Reward Merits aren't going to happen. You used to be able to convert Emps to reward merits and that got taken away.

Recommendations for Reworking Badges

I suspect a large percentage of players who are running TFs/SFs are doing it for the badge (really, for the accolades) if badges were account wide, there would be less reason to run anything other than the most optimized content because you already have the reward. -
If i remember correctly, Sentinels do the same base damage as defenders, meaning a defender would now completely outclass a sentinel (since you'd have better range and other buffs/debuffs at your disposal)

An Empath buffing itself would have (permanently with just SOs): 950% regen 800% recovery +100% recharge 80% resistance to -recharge Status protection against hold, sleep, stun, immobilize, fear, confuse 22% defense to all 31.25% damage buff to all 18.75% bonus to hit From 3 powers. Then, on top of that, they'd have +950% regeneration +200% (unslotted) recovery These would be up 90 out of 137 seconds (by taking Hasten). And on top of that a 511 point heal on a sub 2 second cooldown Please tell me how this is not unbalanced. Force field defenders would have 38% defense to everything and mez protection against hold, immobilize, and stun, again, just with SOs and 3 powers Thermal defenders would have: 30% resistance to S/L/E/N/C 60% resistance to F Status protection against hold, sleep, stun, immobilize, fear, confuse +50% damage +38% tohit A 511 point heal on a ~2 second cool down. Again, all of this is on SOs only. For comparison, an SO'd out SR Scrapper gets 30.42% defense to all 3 vectors. And this takes 6 powers (7 with practiced brawler) Heck, an SR tanker only gets 40.5% defense with just SOs.

I've boosted Steadfast Protections for the tiny bit of extra +resistance it gives.

There aren't really any expected pools. Leadership is a good choice though. Depending on what combination you are, Hasten is usually a good choice. I like the fighting pool because I tend to play pretty aggressively and the extra defense and resistance are nice. Sorcery for Rune of Protection is another good choice for the offensive defender. As for Epics... most sets benefit from power boost, so Soul Mastery is a good choice for a lot of pairings. Depending on if you have a self heal, Mu mastery can be helpful. Mu is also nice because its shield covers the three most common damage types. Finally honorable mention to Mace for the +def shield.

This is both ideal and also very likely accurate. Though I wonder... is Vault storage account wide or is it per character? If it's account wide, perhaps it could be put to use for account bound salvage? -
You could also go Dual Pistols install of AR, then run Chemical Rounds for more -damage.

Correct, it got some toxic resistance and power sink now adds some +regeneration. It's in a really good place right now... in fact, I'm considering elec armor for my new sonic melee toon one page 3 drops.

One of my favorite SGs is Repeat Offenders' Faithful Fans of Fallout... in my eyes, a team of 3+ rad toons that that aren't leveraging fallout are song it wrong. Don't forget about purple patch... that 75% turns into 36% and the 68% into 32% against +4s. Granted, once you get some -tohit enhancements slotted, you should be fine, provided you coordinate to getting everything activated as close as possible.

@Glacier Peak that assumption is correct. Toggles stay on, but their effects suppress. That is all toggles, not just offensive ones.

Purple patch increases mez duration https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Purple_Patch If you were 50+1 mezzes are 44% longer at +5. If you were not +1, they are 55% longer, meaning they'll have more opportunity to stack.
