  1. I tell you what: I'll give you a KB->KD toggle IF I get more damage the further an enemy gets knocked back.
  2. Purple Patch doesn't affect unresistable debuff, my TAs don't build for soft capped defense for this reason. Defenders can get about 14% unresisted to-hit debuff out of flash arrow against all mobs, then another 14% resistable. Now, that being said, I still don't think I'd choose TA as the one defender to bring on hard content. It's one of my favorite sets, but you want a more even combination of buffs and debuffs. I personally don't like playing EA that much, but Voltak is right, it's a monster set. The other combo I'd consider is the classic Rad/Sonic
  3. Acid Mortar doesn't do Knockback, but the proc that is slotted is the Overwhelming Force Chance for Knockdown/Knockback to Knockdown. This gives Acid Mortar a chance to knock down enemies hit with it. Not sure how well that works, but that's the reasoning behind it. Here's my Beam/Traps/Mace build, capped to everything but Psi and Melee, so very sturdy. I have recently begun liking Caltrops, which I originally skipped on this guy, so I may end up respeccing into it. Probably dropping Combat Jumping, or maybe Triage Beacon, though I like the regen of that power.
  4. Time/sonic is the clear whovian, as you have to have a sonic screwdriver
  5. Dang, and here i thought I had a unique idea
  6. I had an interesting and probably not game-breaking idea for SS, though I don't know how feasible it would be to implement. What if Rage only crashed if you had it stacked? That way, there would be no change for the people that think the set is fine because they double stack Rage, but the people who want to avoid the crash can still just single-stack it Also, the -dam isn't the killer in Rage, the -def is.
  7. Sonic resonance is not weak, it's just not solo friendly Actually, since the current meta is building defense, sonic/ makes a great choice for teams because you fill in the resist hole. Now that being said, time/sonic is an incredibly powerful build, and kin/sonic has a lot of synergies to it.
  8. Frozen aura is a great power, it's basically foot stomp but with a sleep component.
  9. I would lean towards brute or tank. WP does best when you have more health, scrappers have the least health of the three. The rest is do you want more survivability or more damage? Brutes will do more damage, and you can build then to be survivable, but tanks will out survive brutes.
  10. You need an enemy target, you do not need a dead ally
  11. I think the only change I'd make to CoW is make it so it doesn't persist through death.
  12. I'm going to agree with Greycat, this kind of looks like a solution looking for a problem.
  13. Hey! My first 50 on live was an Emp/Energy, what's wrong with that?

    Ele/ele Tank

Here's mine, I haven't actually finished building him, so I can't give real-world examples, but should be able to handle most things you can throw at it, especially when Unleash Potential is up.
  15. What type of tank? If it's a primarily resistance based build then you'd be better off going /cold to bolster their defense. As for kin, don't forget, you may not have -resist, but you have -damage and you get team +damage
  16. I would suggest a sentinel. They aren't particularly strong, but they've got decent damage mitigation and more importantly mez protection out of the box, and they get ranged attacks as their primary. Alternately, as others have mentioned, time defenders are quite powerful. They live in melee thanks to Time's Junction and Farsight makes them very hard to hit. That being said, they don't have any built in mez protection.
  17. I'll be the voice on the other side, I guess... Archery is better on Corrs than Defenders, yes, but then again, *most* blast sets are better on corrs than defenders. Defenders have much more potent (de)buffs than Corruptors, however, and this can be a game changer. I've got both a TA/A (50/T4'd) and an A/TA (34). It is hard to compare them because the Def has been 50 for a long time, but I do think I enjoy it more than the Corr. I want to take the Corr to 50 and IO him out so I can get a fair comparison of the two sets though.
  18. what power in presence would be lost to accommodate this new power?
  19. The preventive medicine proc does not need to be in an active power to work. On many builds I've slotted it into spirit ward and it works even when I'm solo (ie: I have no target for it to be on) Performance Shifter +end works out to be better than just about all endmod enhancements, so if you're less than 50 or your exemp a lot, it's the better choice.
  20. the absorb proc will fire only under its certain conditions, and does not factor into the power being fired/toggled. I'd slot it in healing aura
  21. Dark tends to be on the end heavy side, and its only real weakness (other than high end cost) is not a ton of defense, so I'd suggest a Cold/ something defender. Between the shields and Heat Loss he'll thank you.
  22. Are you sure about that? Power Customization does exist, and you can customize some powers that are not primary/secondary/Power Pools. I don't know either way, just saying. Also, I have a few toons that would love to have the Nemesis Mole Machines pop out of the ground.
  23. Sounds like someone is still reeling about ED
  24. Storm's Lightning should be affected by gale!
  25. I could see this being sort of a cross between SR and Nin jitsu in that it is high in positional defenses because can predict what attacks are coming then throw a -recharge aura in there for taunts and some sort of Chrono Shift like power for the tier 9
