  1. Might I suggest you post your build here? I'm sure there's a lot of great advice you'd get if you did. Clearly something seems to be disfunctional, given that Beasts is one of the best performing MM sets out there, so if we can see what you're doing then we can maybe give you some insight.
  2. I regularly interact with folks on Pacific time. I'm not saying it's perfect but it often happens 😄 but I think this idea does have legs. I hope we can get a team going
  3. Which is bad because...? 8x OSAs and nobody can move out ofit?
  4. Sadly I think TA is getting a bit of a bum steer here. I think we need to consider where "the worst" is in context. I mean, are we asking "The worst MM to solo?" or "The worst MM in a team?" which I suspect would give different answers. I would think TA doesn't fare well on a solo MM because it lacks proper synergy with any of the pets, but it does have some great bonuses, debuffs and control. The problem is, other stuff does the same thing only better. you know what I'm thinking now though. I think we need to make the shittiest MM team we can and run them from 1-50 without PLing them and see how they fare against Incarnates!
  5. without looking at the build in Mids, I'd suggest that's pretty good. IMO Thermal is an excellent support set and Thugs can be very tough on the bad guys. Thermal gives them shields, and some solid debuffs, so I'd imagine this would work very well for you.
  6. because sometimes wishes come true but not in an expected way. Human thinking is remarkably imprecise.
  7. I have one, The Angel of Mons, which is a very good support toon, but rubbish solo. I've created her as a spin on the legend of her name, see The Bowmen by Arthur Machin, which even now arouses many different emotions and stories in England. Essentially it references the Battle of Agincourt and the English bowmen who scored such a famous victory - so in my interpretation she is an Angelic archer leading an elite squad of the British Expeditionary Force (BEF) to victory. Or she might just be the Goddess of War and ensuring that the war continued... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angels_of_Mons
  8. I would like to subscribe to your newsletter!
  9. I rarely play defenders, I think I've had one 50 in all the time I played the game but this has piqued my interest so I'm giving it a go. Thanks
  10. I don't know. I think a lot depends on the character you build and how you play them.
  11. I'm not a great roleplayer. I mean, I do ok but it's not one of my main drivers and in the past I've gotten into stories so deep I've had to blow them out because I've got nowhere to go. But I do enjoy "light" RP - nothing too intense (I don't wanna get too angsty) but I do enjoy the bonding and the telling of a contiguous story that not only provides fun in and of itself at the time but gives your character an added dimension that the standard levelling process simply doesn't provide. I would really enjoy running a group from level 1 to 50 and beyond and I think I'd also particularly enjoy running Goldside - I think there's a great story to be had, discovering the corruption behind Praetoria, and then discovering the wonders and challenges of Primal Earth. (I did have a fun SG on live, the ultra-Loyalist Praetorian Imperial Secret Service - so I've got form in that area and I believe it's something the devs overlooked in forcing the path they did which channelled every Praetorian into a funnel) I mostly play on Runion, which means if you deduced that I'm on EU time you win a gold star - but I've no objection to playing on any other server at all. So... long story short, if anyone's interested in forming a "Casual" RP group at times I can manage, I'd be really interested in joining
  12. I played a Beasts/Rad MM and I found that to be really tricky because it has no shields to keep your pets alive. It has other compensations and as we know, some wicked debuffs but once a boss starts wailing deteminedly on your minions they've few places to go but down. Try it and see how it works for you
  13. So I was trying to edit a post - and guess what happened next? Colour me extremely annoyed but thanks for all your inputs thus far. Here's a build I've come up with that I'm pretty happy with (on paper at least) - it soft caps to S/L and has not one but two panic buttons which (should) make me almost invincible in a need to run and hide scenario whilst allowing my pets to deal out a rake of good damage and debuffs. Let me know what you think guys, thanks Villain Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer 2.6.0.7 https://github.com/ImaginaryDevelopment/imaginary-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build! 14. I don't think a Mercs/Rad would be so horrible. If they stay alive long enough you could kill most tough enemies
  15. Don't hold back, say what you really think! We can handle it 😉 I've never understood Petless MMs - deliberately gimping your character seems to be deliberately stupid.
  16. Many will advise the classic Fire/Kin or Fire/Rad as being the OP trollermonsters - which is true, though I've never played them to high level. I have played many many trollers during my time, and some are so much fun it's not even funny. Some of my most potent have been; Mind/Storm - not much obvious damage but psionics is rarely resisted, and storm is great at throwing stuff about so you can get some very interesting combos. Earth/Thermal - this is exceptionally powerful as a support character, with some amazing debuffs and very solid holds but don't try soloing it - damage is sub par and whilst you can lock down the map you'll get bored tickling your victims to death. Dark/Poison is insane fun. Dark is very potent (even if you don't like the dog) and poison is great at ST debuffs. It also works very well in PVP with an ordinaryPVE build, so you get double bang for buck Fire/TA - very underrated (actually most TA is underrated IMO) as being lots of fun and remarkably good synergy, especially when you get Oil Slick Arrow. Plant/TA as above but with added tentacles and a very solid confuse. Good for soloing. there are many many others, you've got a wide combination of sets to choose from. I'd guess in principle, a controller is a team player. Once the tank's grabbed the aggro you can lock them down, and let everyone else rinse through them. Have many funs with your experimentations. I'm currently levelling my 70s disco queen "Earth Wind & Fire" who is insanely fun and remarkably robust even pre-IOs.
  17. Thanks! So is there any indication of which is which in its description, or do we simply need to know?
  18. Thanks, that's useful. So to be clear (not that I exemplar often) if I then catalyze my procs and special IOs they will work down to 3 levels below their minimum level? or do they just work at every level above 7?
  19. Apologies if I've missed this in the long thread. I must admit a lot of what I read here made my brain melt, but it's incredible info. How do I know if a Proc needs to be in an active power? Is there something in its description (I've not seen anything in Mids or in game) that tells me. What about PReventative Medicine? I do not understand the "If scourge" condition. Does it only work for Cruppers or what?
  20. Rad's biggest issue as an MM secondary is its lack of shields.
  21. I had not realized until very recently that Freezing Rain is exactly the same as Sleet but you get it considerably sooner. On my Demons/Cold, it's an excellent tool for mitigating the damage. Send the demons in and then plaster Sleet down and nobody can fight them. I see Storm in a similar vein with a good pet buff and a few "don't come anywhere near me" powers.
  22. I have a Mercs/TA character who I'm currently levelling and it's pretty ok. It will never be a "Solo all the things" type character but it's an excellent support toon, laying down ok damage and some excellent crowd control. On live I had a Fire/TA troller who was very effective and I'm not seeing this one as hugely different. Thus far!
  23. I figure there's 105 different combos of MM as the game stands currently. What's the worst? By which I mean the least capable, the most horrible to play, the least effective? And why? And why did you play it as long as you did?
  24. how does that prevent him from running in to facetank the enemy which is what he seems to be doing now?
