  1. If all AoEs are spherical that's just a load of balls! Interesting idea. I presumed they were tubular but if a sphere then somebody hovering at the edge might get missed simply because they are outside of it but look inside
  2. we know and can see the radii of our various AoEs, but I wonder how high they reach. I noticed I had a mob above me on a landing and they hadn't noticed me so I popped Ice Storm down on me and it failed to touch them. I was vaguely surprised. Hence the question. You'd think that shards of ice falling from the sky would hurt almost all the way down...
  3. For me it's the one that @Snarky is in!
  4. Usually you end up with a jack of all trades that can't do anything especially well. Personally I think we're forced to take too many powers as it is. I understand what you're saying but when you have 18 main powers and then at least 6 pool powers, you get too many choices. It is probably easier for well-seasoned veterans to know what to choose, once they've mastered a specific AT, but for a newer player they would have no clue and we have seen how taking the wrong powers and/or mismanaging them through ignorance turns them off the game which is a bad thing. If perhaps we had say 12 main powers and we could specialise in 6, then add pool powers we might find greater diversity but with 18 powers, some of which are specifically designed to be of greater power, it's hard to say we increase diversity. I understand where you're coming from but in practice I don't think it actually is the case.
  5. I'd choose Chloe Grace Moritz as Scarlet Shocker and Karen Gillan as Invincible Woman
  6. Dual Blades/Super Reflex brue but he's flightless currently
  7. a new kind of superhero movie and your main is the shining light in the story. Who plays your main character on the silver screen?
  8. The Switchblade Bug sounds like a very interesting insectoid villain with dual blades!
  9. Apparently Nicholas Hammond had an uncredited cameo in Spider-Man 2
  10. A few years back I did see someone suggest Chris Hemsworth which isn't the worst choice ever I'm very sad for recent Bond developments. I suspect we'll get a flop movie followed by a cashcow Amazon Prime TV series. I have little faith that the new owners will serve Bond well, but then I think the Broccolli family didn't always do great. Craig's outing promised so much with Casino Royale but it tailed off rapidly after that with some bright points along the way. I think one of the big challenges the new production will have to have is to make it feel fresh and distinct compared to all that's gone before which for a 65 year old franchise will be a challenge. I've often thought perhaps they might do a much more noir and book-faithful rendition, shot in black & white, set in the late 50s and retelling the stories in the books. Badge it as "Ian Fleming's James Bond" and you have a handy little franchise reboot that keeps the punters coming in and can still get original mileage out of it.
  11. Ok... you may be right https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spider-Man_(1977_film) Seems you got a TV series, we just got a crap movie
  12. Oh shit I totally missed this. He was a musical genius, and worked extensively with Dizzy Gillespie, creating new sounds. Arguably his greatest work is this album
  13. I've always been an avid Marvel fan since my surrogate gran bought me a shittonne of British Marvel reprints in about 1969 and helped me learn to read with them. They were basically black and white with a colour wash, blue for FF, red for Spidey, green for Hulk... but I was hooked. They were the modern Greek and Norse legends in a contemporary setting. I've picked comics periodically since then but never really got DC. I love a few indie books, Watchmen, Maus, V for Vendetta, Y the last Man and of course Powers... as well as Hellboy etc but I'm really out of touch these days. I last bought stuff regularly about 24 years ago, Marvel Knights, stuff like that. If I were to pick up again, where should I begin. Like I say, Marvel and indie stuff please. No real interest in DC.
  14. There was a Spiderman movie... came out on general release back in about 1975ish... it was weird, set in LA and the fx were very sub par even for then.
  15. Yes, yes you are. And I'm also free to tell you that in expressing those opinions you have a very limited understanding of this game and that you are also now blocked. Tara a bit
  16. This is the game. Don't like the game? Don't play it. You're arguing for something almost nobody else agrees with nor thinks necessary. You're complaining because you can't actually be arsed to learn how to play the game. This is not the fault of anyone other than yourself. If, once you know and understand the game mechanics, you have a legitimate criticism of the game, sure you might want to make a point but right now you're just spouting utter bollocks mate.
  17. Alternatively, you could simply learn how to play the game. That would solve all those problems far more effectively.
  18. I rewatched GotG the other night and I like Ronan as one of the most interesting adversaries in the MCU. I love his outfit and it occurred to me that his hammer (and head gear) would be great for the CC... his hammer would work well in War Mace and in Titan Weapons. I don't know if it's feasible but I'd love something similar to this
  19. Translation: "I want to hear from inexperienced players whose confirmation bias might match my own because they haven't yet learned how to manage endurance issues and this will give undue weight to my position." Endurance is a part of the game and has been for over 20 years. It is designed to place a limit on what players can do in any given moment. Almost all games have two components that require player management. Usually one is Health, and the other is Energy/Heat/Endurance/Stamina etc etc. Our game is no different and requires some level of skill and input from the player to achieve that. I get that some people just want to moronically mash buttons in killkillkill mode but that's not what this game is all about so ultimately /jranger
  20. That was pretty well what I said except you were more concise
  21. It certainly used to be - but it has utility now. If you go back far enough you'll notice that very few people bothered to take the T9 primary, because that was a deliberate gimp. It's concept was to be "the ultimate booyah" in a battle against the odds, to finish the fight but it had a number of flaws: It almost never finished the fight It took you out of the fight because it sucked out your Endurance and left you with no way to take part in the battle until a couple of minutes had passed It entirely passed a burden onto your team mates who then had to carry you for 90+ seconds it didn't do anything like the damage for the penalty it imposed So nobody took it and it got a big rework. TK used to be somewhat similar but it was slightly reworked and one of the less memorable ITrials got a specific case where it shone so suddenly it could be useful. I have yet to decide if the new version is really as good as some claim. I love the concept but actually I think it might fail once the novelty's worn off. Time will tell. But again, I don't hate the fact that it makes the decision to perm 6 from 9 quite easy. YMMV as the cool kids used to say a couple of decades ago before they got mortgages and shitty jobs
