  1. I've updated my builder to Mids' Reborn The last couple will probably only open in that application though I'm having no trouble with old builds or even some of my first builds in the newer Mids.
  2. It was fun. As a new roleplayer It was neat to see some who are Heavy RP and some of us who are Light RP mixing. Learning a thing or two. I look forward to the next event.
  3. You'd think that wouldn't be the case. After all, defense is only good until you get hit. Resistance is always applied.
  4. I've not noticed a 'redraw' but a 'stance reset' on some of the blasts.
  5. I like it. I tweak my colors to align with ideas on the characters' theme, their personality. I was trying to tune my WS into a dark-dark purple, like the depths of space. Couldn't make it work so I went Magenta, vibrant and loud, like an emotional statement of retaliation.
  6. Final build after a couple of internal revisions. Some refinement achieved 92.21s recharge on Light Form. Moved two slots from Combat Flight While those two slots performed well and made me faster at low levels, flight speed is easily capped at 50. Placed two slots in Incandescence to hold Resist IO's (+HP and +Def%) Swapped Tactics for Maneuvers While tactics is nice in niche environments, namely against Arachnos I found I either forgot to turn it on or just didn't notice the benefit. Maneuvers makes a nice mule for Luck of the Gambler bringing me to the max. My power choice at 49 is totally optional since I can't slot any single enhancement that would make or break me. |-------------------------------------------------------------------| Notes from the Field: I Can absolutely farm, albeit slowly. PB isn't known for peak damage output. Takes at least three Death Mages to threaten me. Anything less is negligible. Can tank Giant Monters on Monster Island, cannot kill solo even with Diamagnetic Radial Quantums are almost laughable. Until you find a Quantum Jump Bot. Is very flashy. Photon Seekers, Solar Flare/Dawn Strike, Pulsar makes for a fun lightshow.
  7. Understandable. Invisibility was a self-only defense power until recently. I'd have to compare in the field but I know from experience the Arachnos Stealth was really good and everything else was pretty good but not as amazing. I wonder now if the dev's decided to give everyone even footing..
  8. My number is based on what Mid's was telling me. Invisibility in the wild is +DEF(All) and +Self Stealth In combat you lose the Stealth but keep the defense. So yes, in-combat and out-of-combat.
  9. The last patch made Invisibility viable as a defensive toggle. 9% base defense against everything but Psionic. Funny, because last I checked all Psi powers were Ranged or AoE and so could still be dodged.
  10. If you're trying to build defense, you could pull slots from Inner Light to bolster Stealth and Maneuvers. I use Inner Light often but it's largely a mule for Adjusted Targeted. You could use those slots to reduce the end-cost on Stealth and Maneuvers. I ran stealth for a bit as an active defense but the cost was too high and the results weren't compelling so it remains a mule on my build.
  11. It's not for everyone. I'm a fan of light-form, i'm not a fan of Hasten. I put together a tough character and I linked the build because I want to show others what's possible. But it's definitely not for everyone. I'd like to do more damage, I'd like to have some holds and roots. But that's every character, you're always missing -something-.
  12. I second this vote. Crab have another stack of team buffs you can pull, some reliably good blasts and can double for a Brute or a mock Mastermind when built properly. I'm a big fan of Peacebringer but there are just some problems I can't manage. I'm no controller, something the Crab can manage in power selection.
  13. This is my build, little more solid than Nova, doesn't hit as hard. https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/3489-human-form-peacebringer-the-meta-blas-fender/
  14. Tri-form is like playing another class entirely. Human-form is akin to a hybrid Defender/blaster/scrapper. Not fully one of any though more defender/blaster than scrapper. Tri-form played in mental quality akin to the MF'in Warshade is probably fantastic. I'm going to see about tweaking a second build that has that kind of power.
  15. What system are you using for naming these files? They all ready like Malta Operative names and dammit, some sound interesting enough to run them as spy characters..
  16. Yes, if you can get into the group for the TF it's amazing xp. I had a similar experience in the Dr Quarterfield a couple weeks ago.
  17. Skip both of these: Dimention Shift and Black Hole They aren't worth the time unless you want an oh shit button that pisses everyone off. Howling Twilight is pretty darn nise and the best Rez in the game, imo. You do not need a dead person to cast it either. Take it and love it. Or keep Dimension Shift and learn when to use it. Using it on every mob might protect you but it will upset someone.
  18. I main a human-only Peacebringer and here's what I can tell you. Human-form is like playing a really burly defender. You don't blast as hard as a Blaster, you don't have all the tools of a Defender but you do have some shields. And you'll get asked if you can tank on occasion. This page: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Damage#Damage_Scale has the background scalar on damage attacks for each Archetype. This is the background value on how attacks do different damage in the hands of different Archetypes. Here we see that Blaster is at 1.125 and Defender at .550 Peacebringer (human) sits between those two at .850 while the Peacebringer (Nova) is at 1.2 So without a team, without any damage buffs and just by raw numbers, your Nova is nearly 50% more powerful in blasting than the human-form and a bit more powerful than a Blaster. And then consider that Cosmic Balance will make you better for all the other teammates you're with. Is it doable? Yes. I've leveled to 50 as human only and I continue to enjoy it in Incarnate Trials and TF's. I would absolutely recommend it to everyone as a viable option. It's not as flashy as Nova, it's not as tough as Dwarf but Human only can take some hits and dish them out. And you get to wear your stylish and fantastic costume the whole time!
  19. This does seem to be how things evolved. It is especially profound in the 40-50s. On your average 45+ team you'll have a few incarnates spamming Judgement. Defenders/Blasters/Corruptors are going to be nuking every 2-3 groups and Elec/Shield Brutes and Scrappers are all over. Annihilating every other spawn with their mini-nukes. Leading to mobs dying very fast. To the point where sometimes my Defender doesn't even have time to lay down Tar Patch unless I race ahead. Because of this I feel like I have the most fun in the late 20s and mid/high 30s. The team still feels like a team, we are strong on our own at this point, but still generally have holes in our capabilities so we rely on one another. End-game tends to be a bunch of Heroes who can probably solo x8 maps anyways, teaming up with others and wiping the floor with the mobs. Which has its own merits don't get me wrong. But the teamwork aspect seem to be downplayed a lot at that point. I feel the low and mid levels are more interesting because we don't have our late-game super powers, or our slots. Doing the Moonfire TF on occasion has shown me how my power has grown as a Peacebringer from where I had a build but no IO's to now I have many IO's and their sets and I'm tougher because I have power and I know what to and not-to do. I still do the non-45+ TF's because they -are- still interesting and I'm able to see everyone's contribution, even my own. I still get incarnate drops from the lower TF's so I haven't found a reason to not do them. Incarnate powers certainly open a door making your character so much more powerful. Heck, -you- the Controller could be Judgement-bolting everything every two minutes much like me, the PB. What I find is that Controller are still recognizable for their powers. I can't see the effects with all the noise, but I can see how that thug isn't moving or that Boss isn't looking me in the eye. How a Quantum will go running towards someone else when they're supposed to be single-minded hunting me down. Your powers are working, the job is getting done it's just that there is so much flash and aoe damage that it's hard to see it. The difference I find in Controller vs no Controller is the lack of focus, you dictate how far the battlefield can expand because of runners or overpull. I was on an ITF that failed because we lacked control to debuff anything, Romulus was impossible to kill because we lacked a lot of what a Defender and Controller bring to the team in support powers.

  21. Normally Normally I would agree. Between the global dislike of Knockback and my own interest in watching thugs 'dance' over 'retreating' I would be there with you 100% suggesting KD proc in KB powers. But there's something to be said for having the power to push a fight where you need it.
  22. You're certainly welcome to take the "lessons learned" from this build and (*ahem*) cross-pollinate them over into Plant/* to make another build. That's kind of the point of posting up this sort of thing ... inspiring others to do really nifty stuff (too). And the ironic thing is that I was kind of wondering today what Mind/Nature would have looked like instead ... And that's why I read your posts. They're not just "Boom, Perma-hasten" but a nuanced structure of choices made that I'm starting to understand the more I look at it.
  23. Just wait for the Gremlins, they throw out Jolting Chains also. And that's where I feel Elec/Storm finds it's synergy. Chaos Control. "What can't stand, can't fight."
  24. I ran an Elec/Storm controller in a group briefly. I'm at 14, tested out some powers on well-underleveled thugs to see how the might play out later. Jolting Chain is going to be one of my favorites. Love the blast, damage and the knockdown as it bounces around the group.
