How would you plan out a LRSF at +4? I organized one last night. We had a fairly balanced team with me on my SR/DM Tank, a Ice/Cold Corruptor, two Stalkers, two Blasters, a Brute and a Dominator. We did fairly well but dropped the diff to +2 for the last two missions after it took a while to defeat the "future" Freedom Phalanx. A few of the players were low level vets and not Incarnated out and would die when there was too much aggro for me and the Brute to hold. (or if the team got too spread out with peeps trying to speed through the +4 Longbow). Half the team wiped during the final battle -- it was wacky because some of the Heroes were determined to defeat certain members of the team regardless of how much I taunted or punched. I went down too at this point, but Return to Battle brought me back and I didn't die again. Some people went to hospital and others used wakies and we stomped the Phalanx. Could a Tanker Tuesday run LRSF at +4? or not enough debuffs from 8 tanks?

You've got it backwards. A Fire Armor/Ice Melee Tank has those, but Ice Armor doesn't have Ice Patch, and Fire Melee doesn't have Burn.

Best overall tank build for all the game content??
ninja surprise replied to Koseph's topic in Tanker
I was going to ask if SR and Invuln can tank Hami. I haven't seen what people take to Hami raids and on LGTF it seems to be luck of the draw who dies. -
Identified and Silenced all Stone Armor toggles.

Thank you! I'd been struggling with Mud Pots in particular sounding vaguely like someone chewing food and driving me nuts. -
That's if all toons are earning inf, and don't have it disabled in favor of double-xp, of course.
-
Poll's over but I was gonna vote Psi Melee/Shield anyway and it won! You can make the colors match which is super cool.

Since I started using Combat Teleport I want to respec all my characters into it. I bind it to Q since it's right next to WASD, and also to SHIFT+LMOUSE. So in normal combat I'll TAB to something I want to punch, press Q and punch it. And if I just want to go somewhere I use shift and the mouse to TP somewhere on the map. I've always taken Combat Jumping on every toon and usually hit F to follow and Space to CJ to the target, but lots of maps have funky little platforms to jump onto and with Combat Teleport I just hit Q and BAMF I'm right there next to my target. Super useful on TV Respec Trials and any multi-level map, and also useful on regular flat maps and rooms. Love it.

What would be a good pairing for a Naruto based character?
ninja surprise replied to smnolimits41's topic in Scrapper
Yep might as well try it, what have you got to lose? -
I think Rad Armor will be easiest to build tough. Dark will need a bit more IO magic, and Bio needs lots of it. Stance dancing isn't bad, you can just run in Offensive until you get killed, then rez and switch to Defensive. Or run in Efficient if you're low on endurance. The tough part is remembering to click your self-heal-buff every spawn to keep your health and End topped up. /MA will help with defense and do decent damage. I think /Savage is the most fun. /Rad does good damage but personally I think it feels slow but that's just my playstyle. /Ele and /Kin are on the lower end of the damage scale but still get the job done and if you enjoy them then they'll work. I have an SR/Electric that can get through all sorts of content solo. For build help just look through this forum for a build similar to what you want and tweak it how you want it.

Tanker "Tuesday" Tour, on Reunion, on a Saturday...
ninja surprise replied to Warboss's topic in Tanker
We had a good time on Excelsior last night. Enough people turned out to make at least 4 teams. I was on my SR/Dark Melee tank Amasu, and as far as I could tell, I was the only SR! I was put on a team with @PLVRIZR himself and we ran Tin/Pex with 7 tanks. It went pretty well overall, except the Battle Maiden fight took a LONG time with only melee toons trying punch her in the face while avoiding the blue patches. There were enough people at the rally point that some toons got turned into basic white robot looking things! Never seen that before. (I have the red cape with white stars) -
Why not Savage for the fun TP attack? Or Stone Melee is also fast with lots of BOOM and control with knockdowns and stuns. It's one of my favorite secondaries.
-
This is how I rank the secondaries Doesn't have weapon redraw Does have weapon redraw And also by: Has useful secondary effects (stun, knockdown, self-buffs, etc) Doesn't have useful secondary effects And lastly but not leastly: Has cool sound effects Sound effects suck and make the set feel weak or annoying to play
-
Kinda, the difference being whether you have Momentum. The first attack will always be slow. Then the next 5 or so will be really quick. Then back to a slow one to re-build momentum. You have to get into the groove of (when you're on a team) never attacking the last critter, or a critter with less than half health because everyone else on the team can defeat it quicker than you. Solo you can go crazy swinging at everything with reckless abandon.

So, as one does, I was looking at my badges in progress and realized my "Take X points of damage to earn this badge" weren't progressing because my SR tank is so deft at dodging. This was during the 15-minute ambush part of the last Croatoa mission to unlock Katie, and to let the time pass I just rested and let the Cap stab me for 15 minutes. I figured there had to be a faster way to rack up damage and experimented resting next to various foes, and settled on two +2 Council Force machine gunners. They seem to have only two attacks: the long burst and a punch. With two of them, their punches take me to about half health, and then my health completely heals back during the machine gun burst. Each round of attacks does ~1,200 damage. Any other favorite tactics for racking up the damage received? Aside from playing the game, of course. 😅

I had the great fun and fortune of teaming with Camel on an ITF today and came back looking for this thread. Here's the build recreated in Mid's 3.1.2.5. It's a good build, he was gnarly and Smashing everything! I thought I was doing all right with a full Soul Drain-buffed SR/DM, but I'd have to punch things twice that he'd punch once. Is there a Brute Tier List similar to Croax's Stalker Tier List?
ninja surprise replied to Linea's topic in Brute
Amen to that. I had an Ice/EA that was pretty fun, except when I was running Carnie arcs and kept getting slaughtered. I had to keep dropping the difficulty until it was just embarrassing and hard to keep fury against small spawns. So I switched back to Super Reflexes and punched every Carnie in the face and dodged all their PBAoE death end-drains. -
I guess it depends on how you do your attacks, but I just pull out 2 or 3 floating trays, set them to 3 bubbles wide, and then put the combos in order in the tray. Then if I want to do Attack Vitals I do that row, or the row for Sweep, etc. Piece of cake! That said, my current favorite Brute is Savage/Bio. No re-draw, all clickies, slashies, and slurpees! so fun.

Did you see Infinitum's builds? He has loads of Invuln builds and a really good Fire/Psi. You can combine them into a monster build. Edited to say: I used to see an Invuln/Psi tank running around named something like "How Ironic" and the character description made fun of how Invuln has a psi hole, but the toon is psi melee. How ironic.

Most people skip Elude and then complain that SR doesn't have endurance recovery. Elude gives a massive endurance recovery boost, soft-caps defense, and buffs your run speed and jump height. Getting toggle-dropped by a Sapper isn't a big deal for SR because Practiced Brawler is still active so you won't get mezzed/knocked back/etc, and you can still run around with your set bonuses active. Hit Elude, do a DOUBLE BACKFLIP then run around twice as fast as normal, punching everything you see, and recovering endurance as you go for the next 3 minutes. Just make sure you finish clearing the room or running away before the crash because it kills your blue bar and drops your toggles.

How about doing a tweak to the Halloween event so that all doors always have a chance to spawn some random mobs? Zones would spawn level-appropriate critters and be some additional XP on top of street sweeping. Plus it'd add a surprise when you go to the wrong door and would be way more fun than the default "You cannot enter" pop-up. It would be like every building is full of badguys in CoH and goodguys in CoV just waiting to attack when you inappropriately ring their doorbell. The spawn rate could be turned down if people want to avoid farming. And change the message to "Nobody is home" when nothing spawns.

I upvote this over 9000. I often play with headphones and normally have the game volume set between 2% and 5%. And even then some of the max target hits are so loud I want to turn it down more. But recently I reinstalled the game on a new computer, logged in and started running around with the default volume and music settings... I was alone in my room, figured it didn't matter if it was a bit loud. I was AMAZED at all the ambient noises and sounds happening in the game! I've never heard them because I have to have the volume so low to make the loudest sounds bearable. Like, to @Solarverse's point I had to give up most of the game's sounds so I could hear the few that I had to hear. If I could turn off the decibel-exponential effect I'd be a happy camper. What I'd prefer is a sort of echo effect at the same volume. Like, if I skip a rock and it bounces 10 times, the skip SFX isn't 10 times as loud it just happens 10 times. If I drop 10 bricks it sound like 10 things hitting, not one 1,000 lb thing hitting. I'd like it if Footstomp hits 10 critters it makes 10 quick PFLOMPs instead of one super duper loud KBASH! So yeah, I'd love a client-side option to disable SFX quantity stacking so I could turn back on all the other SFX I'm missing.
