  1. I re-rolled my Savage/Bio Scrapper as a Brute to get more HP in the heals and regen and it's doing great. Seems to be on par with damage (running in Offensive mode I'm almost always showing ~270% damage buff). The only other Brute I've been able to stick with is Super Strength/Electric. Everything else I've been happier with on Tanks or Scrappers. Edit: Correction, have a Staff/Invuln brute I'm really happy with. I hated Staff on Tanks and hated Invuln on Scrappers, but on a Brute it's a good combo.
  2. Transfusion is the heal; doesn't do anything for damage. Fulcrum Shift is what you want, it can do a +400% damage buff if the /Kin is close to the 10 targets and teammates. That's a fantastic bonus. Speed Boost buffs endurance recovery and 50% recharge buff, but not health. It does give some damage resistance though. Side note: Siphon Speed, Siphon Power, and Fulcrum Shift also debuff enemies. They get slowed and lower damage output, which may not be a huge difference on a farm but is still helpful.
  3. I've only played it on Test for a few hours, but I didn't like how Mass Levitate made it so when I had an enemy on auto-follow I spazzed out following it as it ragdolled. And it was more difficult to hit the levitating critters. I think it's a cool set though and looks neat-o when other people on the team are playing it. Once teamed with a Psi/Shield dude who Hovered everywhere and did amazing things.
  4. If you do Spines/Ice you get double damage auras and stacking slow effects. And you can make the Spines look like ice. My other favorite was Dark Melee / Ice. You can skip Dark Consumption because Energy Absorption is better: boosts your defense and recharges much quicker. Claws is just a good set overall if you like it.
  5. Does the Terrorize have to land a hit? It seems like my Super Reflexes toons are rarely terrorized. I stumbled on putting the +Perception proc in Focused Accuracy and after some playtime realized I wasn't getting blinded nearly as much, if ever. From that point on I was sold. Being blind and standing there stupidly while trying to inspcombine a yellow is really bad for DPS.
  6. I skipped a few pages so I'm catching up: Are we implementing defense to sweeping attacks? I haven't seen Sweeping as a typed defense, do the new enemies in Aeon's SF have Sweeping attacks? Just in case that wasn't clarified - in IO set types there's Melee AoE and Ranged AoE, but for defense the attacks are purely AoE. It'd be weird to remove typed defense. Then would the armors Willpower, Stone, Invulnerability, Ice, Energy and Bio just not have any defense? Very strange idea.
  7. Thinking it out, the continuously shooting a machine gun results in the barrel getting hotter and hotter. So add fire damage that stacks like Fury? Also your accuracy degrades so even single target attacks turn into cones.
  8. It's like being a ginger at the beach!
  9. Last night I was thinking I really wanted an Atomic Control powerset. Most powers are taken from the Blaster's Radiation Blast and Atomic Manipulation, with their values tweaked for Controllers. The set is like crossing Fire Control's damage aura and stun with Gravity's loads of ST attacks. This winds up with 3 ST attacks, some AoE, a damage aura, and some fun pets. Electron Shackles 1 Ranged, Moderate DoT(Energy), Foe Immobilize (From Atomic Manipulation) Positron Cell 1 Ranged, Moderate DoT(Energy), Foe Hold (From Atomic Manipulation) Shackle Field 2 Ranged (Targeted AoE), Minot DoT(Energy), Foe Immobilize (AoE version of ST immob) X-Ray Beam 6 Ranged, Moderate DMG(Energy), Foe -DEF (From Radiation Blast) Irradiate 8 Melee AoE, Minor DoT(Energy),-ACC, -Defense (From Radiation Blast) Irradiated Ground 12 Toggle, Melee AoE, Minor Damage (Energy), Foe Slow (Radiation Melee's damage aura) Cosmic Bursts 18 Targeted AoE, Minor Damage (Energy), Foe Disorient (From Radiation Blast converted to AoE stun) Positron Cells 26 Targeted AoE, Minor DoT(Energy), Foe Hold (AoE version of the ST hold) Atomic Allies 32 (Fire Imps but green with X-Ray beam, a melee attack, and tiny Irradiated Ground patches as they fart around the map)
  10. Yep with Bio you can prioritize sets in your attacks and armors, and do a bit of minimal slotting of uniques in Inexhaustible, Stamina, and Health. What really makes the difference is setting your stance to Efficient Mode, which really boosts your recovery. And using DNA Siphon in every spawn to top up health and recovery.
  11. Badass / Can Run Solo Without a Team: Dark Melee / Super Reflexes. All the self-buffs you need to run forever.
  12. Or triggering a bunch of binds and firing off some attacks, opening an Ouroboros portal, and munching a handful of inspirations... Honestly though, your reading of the text makes perfectly obvious sense when you don't know it actually means something else.
  13. Oh man that reminds me of a time way back in the beginning, I'm running around the Hollows on my lowbie. No idea how chat works. I get myself into a bad situation and one of those Healbots (the real heroes!) was flying around and kept me alive while I finished my hunt or whatever I was doing. They did a local chat telling me good luck, and I hit Enter, typed Thanks!, hit Enter, and the game yelled "You're not on my team!" I was mortified! I felt like such a jerk and had no idea why the game made me say they weren't on my team! Eventually I realized I was in Team chat and it had actually said "You're not on a team" and I was the only one who'd seen that. I've also activated Rest on accident and couldn't figure out why I couldn't do anything. To be fair, lots of games when you level up you automatically get new powers and stuff without having to go to a trainer. I don't remember if the tutorial tells you to talk to a trainer the first time you level up.
  14. Heck, if you weren't around back then you probably don't appreciate the concept of Taxi Bots in the Hollows, or wherever else they popped up! Oh boy they were the real heroes!
  15. I wish it were possible to make it all swords or all short-range fire blasts. But I think it's dumb how in Firery and Ice it's half swords and half burning fists. They made alternates on the swords so you could have them all be the same size, but still can't have the same weapon for every attack. Similar, one of my favorites is a Rad/Fiery Tank with all the colors matching across the armors and attacks. It's durable enough to survive while the weak-ish Fiery attacks whittle down foes. The crap fact is that Fire is the/a top damage dealer in every AT except the melee classes. On Scrappers especially Fiery Melee is a bottom-tier damage dealer. I really want to love it because Fire Breath is one of my favorite powers to use (especially for ninja-themed toons) but the lack of burst damage and slow, low-damage DoTs always end in frustration.
  16. This gets me sometimes, when I talk to a contact and get a new mission but forget to "Select" it and then get teleported to some other mission I forgot I had.
  17. When I started way back on Live I played for months rolling a toon, getting up to 5 in Galaxy or AP, heading into the Hollows, and working through those missions before starting all over again. It was months before I realized I could go to Kings Row instead. But probably before that I got a toon up to level 18 and I couldn't believe I had a toon that high. Went from Hollows in to Skyway and entered into the red zone where there were level 19's and I just ran scared trying to survive. Sure it's fun traveling the hard way the first few hundred times but I really do appreciate being able to TP around quicker. Plus it makes me feel more Super not having to hoof it like a lowbie. I wish the tram let us pick our destination whether or not the doors were open. I wouldn't mind waiting for them to close and open again. But it's annoying having to watch them or risk missing the window to click while it's closed. Real train stations ask where you're going when you get there.
  18. (me and the forum's submit button had a disagreement about who was doing what)
  19. I've just recently started doing solo TFs with my Savage/Bio Scrapper. Started with the Eden trial when it was a Weekly and got through it fine, including both the big walls and the Crystal Titan. I died once because I forgot to collect the good Inspriations but after picking some up on the way back from the hospital I clobbered him just fine. Remember the Test server - you can spin up and equip a character in about 30 minutes. Run some PI radios or Ouro flashbacks to see how you like it before investing a ton of time and money into it. I like 'em both because they're both quiet and smooth. Not sure how to explain, but like Foot Stomp and Soul Drain - if you hit a lot of enemies they become super loud. Other attack sets also have really loud attacks. Claws gets AoE earlier and has two ranged attacks and one cone backflip cone that people skip. A couple attacks need KB->KD if you hate chasing floppers. Build-up is built into an attack you'd use all the time anyway and the two ranged attacks are plain awesome. Claws are a costume piece that you have to integrate into your costume and concept. Savage has a super fun teleport attack, a cone and a 360 PBAoE that fills your screen with super sweet slashing graphics. Truth be told the VFX and SFX is what I like most about it and Savage Leap is a blast. Except it doesn't work against some targets, like the prison doors in Yin, the buff-towers in Miss Liberty TF and the portal generators in the last mission of Lady Gray's TF. No ranged attacks, but does have built-in knockdown. Has a funky self-buff mechanic where you build Blood Frenzy that gives you an endurance discount and damage buff. No weapon redraw. Has a stupid power that most people skip. Bill's my nemesis, I love Savage and "neh" Claws. They're both good sets. Claws is a better by straight numbers, 'specially if you build his optimum attack chain though. But my main is a Savage/Bio Brute named Fleas and he's a beast!
  20. Ever been confused by something in the game where after you figure it out you chuckle in relief that nobody can actually see you? One that hit me recently was one character's costume wasn't how I designed it. The top was a weird color with a chest emblem I was certain I hadn't picked. Went to the tailor and everything looked right, except it would revert when I left the tailor. Eventually I realized I had accidentally enabled Supergroup Mode and it was putting the SG logo and colors on me. What's made you feel silly in retrospect? This is a safe space, your story will not be spread beyond these walls.
  21. That's well worth the endurance. Particularly since it's an AoE.
  22. In-game stats say it does 7.5% ToHit debuff, but Mid's says 16.91%. Is that like adding the same amount of defense to my whole team? Does it do much good during battle? I'm a Fire/TA and mashing buttons is my jam. But if a button doesn't do much I'll save Flash Arrow for when I'm stealthing a glowie. Or entering a hot door.
  23. Does build up affect proc damage? Plus it counts for the Healing badges, which is otherwise difficult to get on a Scapper.
  24. Add in /cce 0 CCNinjaLeap and every 6 seconds you can do another giant leap off the screen!
  25. If you enjoy it you'll do fine, just be liberal with Taunt. Or if you re-roll it to Invuln/DM you'll have more taunt aura, unless I'm mis-remembering how they standardized taunt auras. Shield also has a great taunt aura, but your costume is gimped with a shield. If you do an armor set with a damage aura, that helps pull aggro too. Currently my favorite tanks are Bio/DM, Shield/Fiery, and SR/Electric.
