  1. Answering the title but not the Guyver part - My favorite combos with Bio have been Savage, Dark Melee, and most recently: Ice. Bio/Ice has been great for defeating mobs and exploiting their typical lack of Ice resistance. Ice Patch really helps when there's way too many Cimerorans poking me with swords and the giant ice foot stomp even sleeps some of 'em on the periphery. It doesn't have crunch but it smashes everything like a glacier coming through a mountain.
  2. Is ET supposed to be Electrical Melee or Energy Melee? Don't think about Tanks like that. Tanks in CoH aren't low-damage meatshields. Think about it as "deciding which order you acquire your powers". Scrappers get attacks first and defense way later. Tanks get defense first and attacks later. Also, Tanks on Homecoming get higher target caps and by default they do more damage than Brutes without fury. How this shakes out is on a Scrapper you can ofen one-shot things ; on a Tank you'll kick it two or three times. Here's an example from Martial Arts (looking at the Info in the New Character screen): Scrapper's Dragon's Tail: 8' radius 10 targets, 12 damage Tank's Dragon's Tail: 8' radius, 16 targets, 11 damage Tank's Storm Kick: 13 damage and +10% Defense to every position and type (except vs Psi and Toxic) Scrapper Storm Kick: 13.5 damage, no +Def So with a Tank you can focus on attacking the boss with everything you have and all the minions in the spawn will be defeated as a side-effect of your AoEs. If you want easy-mode, make an Invulnerable/Dark Melee Tank, Super Reflexes/DM, or Invulnerable/Martial Arts since you like MA. Invuln/MA is super easy to cap everything, resists and defense. And you get a big self-heal in Dull Pain. Also you can take Stealth and pretend to be a Ninja. A big benefit to being a solo Tank is that you auto-taunt everything around you, and every enemy comes to you to fight. On a Scrapper you'll frequently be chasing down runners. But nearly any Scrapper combo can do well. Ninjutsu is a great set but the difference between 30% Def and 40% Def is huge, and going from 40% to 45% reduces the amount of damage you take by half. Post your build and maybe we can give some tips to be more survivable. Until you're soft-capped you'll take a lot of damage. And congrats on your Sec+! I'm in infosec too, great career when you get in. Edit: here's some peeps rejoicing in their SR/DM tanks:
  3. Does Tidal Forces benefit from 6-slotting enough to put all the Gaussians there instead of in Tactics? I thought Tactics would proc the Build Up more frequently. Or is it to have the set bonus earlier in the build?
  4. Water is nearly a clone of Fire, just swap in your AoEs and single target attacks. I'm going to port this build into Ice/Cold, it's exactly what I'm looking for.
  5. I like it on my Scrappers. It's a 12' diameter, 10-target AoE that fears the main target.
  6. Ice and Ninjitsu have really good end recovery too. And Fire Armor too I guess.
  7. Oh, you're saying Shield doesn't have colorful auras like Dark Armor for you to color and changing the style and color of the shield doesn't count?
  8. I want to do the fish tank head or the "crystal ball head" with googly eyes.
  9. Why would you want your /Shield Stalker to to be rooted, slowed, and taunting all nearby enemies? I like having my Stalker running around critting bosses, not sitting around soaking up hits. Shield already has a taunt aura. Not sure what you mean... Shield Defense is unique in being the only powerset that adds a shield to the costume. It also gives the attack sets unique animations that go with the shield (and prohibits two-handed weapon sets like Staff, Claws, and Titan Weapons). Did you know that in the Costume Creator you get to pick from a bunch of different types of shields and you can customize its appearance?
  10. Need to re-run this on the first mission of Mender Ramiel's arc where you go to the future in Ouroboros with all the AVs in there and all of your stats are capped. See how the sets perform vs the Titan and all the other AVs.
  11. You're right that Bio adds a lot of lumps onto your character. It's difficult to replicate in the costume creator but I think the Omega pieces can get you close. If you're stealthy you can't see your costume anyway though. Dark can be super tough. @Hyperstrike's Omega Infinitum - Tanker (Dark Armor - Dark Melee) caps resist to everything except Toxic (76%) and Energy (80%). He's got good Bio builds too. Have you used the Test server? You can create the characters, boost 'em to any level up to 50, give them all the IOs for free, and test drive them in some missions to see how you like them. In the end your theme and how much fun you're having matters more than which set you chose. They both work great. Dark will have better Psi resist; Bio might have better healing.
  12. Yep, I have a Titan/Nin Scrapper and it's totally lame to get all set up and then whiff. Happily, after getting momentum the follow up attacks are nice and speedy.
  13. You still get crits from hide though!
  14. That looks like a lot of fun!
  15. Yeah, at the beginning I thought it was origin so I'd always choose the same origin. But then I kept getting the inside cop regardless of origin. I much prefer the outside guy because the police stations are a pain to ruy/fly through.
  16. Yep looks like it can still hit multiple times in Dark Regen if the spawn is big enough. I was keeping the spawns small because my new Ice/Dark Scrapper is still really wimpy, but looks like I need the big spawns to keep the proc triggering. You activated the Dark Regeneration power. HIT Fire Thorn Caster! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 28.16. HIT Behemoth Master! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 69.30. HIT Veratzu! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 0.46. HIT Behemoth Master! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 39.12. HIT Fire Thorn Caster! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 54.53. HIT Nerva Spectral Daemon! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 90.68. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10 points of endurance. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10 points of endurance. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10 points of endurance.
  17. In DNA Siphon on Bio it still pulls multiple hits... Hope this is working as intended HIT Subaltern! Your DNA Siphon power is autohit. HIT Subaltern! Your DNA Siphon power is autohit. HIT Mob Specialist! Your DNA Siphon power is autohit. HIT Mob Specialist! Your DNA Siphon power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 34.69. HIT Crey Juggernaut! Your DNA Siphon power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 25.89. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10.54 points of endurance. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10.54 points of endurance. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10.54 points of endurance. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10.54 points of endurance.
  18. I popped the proc in Dark Regeneration and it triggers once per activation, giving barely enough endurance to cover the casting of Dark Regen 😞
  19. Concept is the most important. Sure there are a ton of powerful Scrapper power combos, but if I don't have my own concept and costume, I get bored super fast playing someone else's Scrapper. With IOs, power pools, and P2W buffs or Accolades, pretty much any combo can "do it all". Psi Melee will do fine. Even the things that resist it, you just pretend like you're a Tank and hit it 2 or three times instead of just once. What kills Psi for me is Mass Levitate throwing everything willy nilly and then I have to chase my targets again. It was a lot of fun until I got burned out though. My own favorite Scrappers are DM/SR (because my costume looks dumb with any of the shields), Dual Blades/SR, Fiery/Shield, and Savage/Bio. Oh, and my new primary is an Axe/Bio that's a total hoot. Axe's new Whirlwind attack sucks in all the baddies so they're easier to hit with the other AoEs and Bio's self-buffs. Good times. OP - just spend a few minutes in the costume creator and your One Scrapper will eventually appear.
  20. That might be true if both Controllers were Earth, but Controllers get double-damage on "contained" mobs. And more Controllers means more stacked holds on Bosses to actually hold them. Plus the stacked buffs and debuffs from multiple secondaries. You don't even need a Tank if you have a plethora of Controllers. Plus, Controllers have the largest AoEs so they immobilize and defeat fat spawns super fast. It's a blast!
  21. That's because Energy Aura has an invisibility cloak. I love my Stone Melee Tanker, but have too many alts. I mostly love my Earth/Time Controller, but it's useless outside teams so I usually pick something I can solo with. Hardly ever see /Ninja Blasters, but it's a good set with some sweet utility powers.
  22. Seems to work for me in current version of Chrome.
  23. AFAIK every police station has two detectives, one outside and one indoors. What decides which detective is assigned to your character? Is it Origin? Random when you get high enough level and enter the zone? It doesn't seem to change ever, so you're stuck with whichever one you get.
  24. I think you want Dark Armor. It gives the fear, stealth to appear out of nowhere, a Stun aura, and then add the APP of choice. You can color Electricity to match. Then go Tank or Brute depending on whether you'd rather choose armors or attacks first.
