Did Theft of the Essence +End get "fixed?"
ninja surprise replied to ninja surprise's topic in Scrapper
Yep looks like it can still hit multiple times in Dark Regen if the spawn is big enough. I was keeping the spawns small because my new Ice/Dark Scrapper is still really wimpy, but looks like I need the big spawns to keep the proc triggering. You activated the Dark Regeneration power. HIT Fire Thorn Caster! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 28.16. HIT Behemoth Master! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 69.30. HIT Veratzu! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 0.46. HIT Behemoth Master! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 39.12. HIT Fire Thorn Caster! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 54.53. HIT Nerva Spectral Daemon! Your Dark Regeneration power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 90.68. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10 points of endurance. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10 points of endurance. Your Theft of Essence: Chance for +Endurance grants you 10 points of endurance. -

I popped the proc in Dark Regeneration and it triggers once per activation, giving barely enough endurance to cover the casting of Dark Regen π

Concept is the most important. Sure there are a ton of powerful Scrapper power combos, but if I don't have my own concept and costume, I get bored super fast playing someone else's Scrapper. With IOs, power pools, and P2W buffs or Accolades, pretty much any combo can "do it all". Psi Melee will do fine. Even the things that resist it, you just pretend like you're a Tank and hit it 2 or three times instead of just once. What kills Psi for me is Mass Levitate throwing everything willy nilly and then I have to chase my targets again. It was a lot of fun until I got burned out though. My own favorite Scrappers are DM/SR (because my costume looks dumb with any of the shields), Dual Blades/SR, Fiery/Shield, and Savage/Bio. Oh, and my new primary is an Axe/Bio that's a total hoot. Axe's new Whirlwind attack sucks in all the baddies so they're easier to hit with the other AoEs and Bio's self-buffs. Good times. OP - just spend a few minutes in the costume creator and your One Scrapper will eventually appear.

The ATs I want to team with and why
ninja surprise replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
That might be true if both Controllers were Earth, but Controllers get double-damage on "contained" mobs. And more Controllers means more stacked holds on Bosses to actually hold them. Plus the stacked buffs and debuffs from multiple secondaries. You don't even need a Tank if you have a plethora of Controllers. Plus, Controllers have the largest AoEs so they immobilize and defeat fat spawns super fast. It's a blast! -
That's because Energy Aura has an invisibility cloak. I love my Stone Melee Tanker, but have too many alts. I mostly love my Earth/Time Controller, but it's useless outside teams so I usually pick something I can solo with. Hardly ever see /Ninja Blasters, but it's a good set with some sweet utility powers.

I think you want Dark Armor. It gives the fear, stealth to appear out of nowhere, a Stun aura, and then add the APP of choice. You can color Electricity to match. Then go Tank or Brute depending on whether you'd rather choose armors or attacks first.
-
If you already did it on Live, give the Tank a try. The added AoE is very noticeable and quite nice. And the added taunt is handy for getting critters to clump up on you. But if you want to be a buzzsaw of doom, go Scrapper. Edit: My main on Live was a DM/SR Scrapper and I re-rolled it as a tank and I'm happy with it. I miss one-shotting a Boss with Midnight Grasp, but the extra AoE on Shadow Maul and the built in taunt aura is quite nice.

Alter zone choices for missions
ninja surprise replied to srmalloy's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Or just give the cell phone right when you start doing missions for a contact. Cell phones were less common back in 2004 but nowadays everyone except the most trendy Gen Z have them. -
With all the options, every AT except the pathetic Mastermind has a Fire/Fire combo. What are your favorite Fire sets and ATs to use em? Fire Blast Fire Manipulation Fiery Melee Fiery Aura Fiery Assault Fire Control Thermal Radiation My favorite is a toss-up between the Dominator and Blaster. The Blaster gets 5 fantastic attacks with 3 AoE by level 10. The Dominator is mostly control and single-target attacks because it doesn't get Rain of Fire or Fireball until 35 πThe big stun of Flashfire at lvl 12 is great in the Positron TFs though! I love Fire Blast and Fiery Assault. It's fast with sweet sound effects. Can't get into Fiery Aura because the pulsing of Blazing Aura makes my eyes hurt, and that sadly eliminates the melee ATs. I haven't tried Defenders, Corrupters, or Fire/Therm Controllers. What's your favorite?

OP: I don't understand the jargon StrikerFox: Hold my beer... π€£ @CJStevens17 - can you describe what you mean by sniper? What sort of playstyle, or how you imagine the character concept? If you can relate it to a movie or cartoon character, that'll help a lot for narrowing down suggestions.

Battle Axe. I love the KD crunchiness, and the revamped Battle Axe is a thing of beauty... but I keep making alts, not finding a happy pairing, and leaving it behind. Master Minds. Tried a bunch of combos. I got furthest with a Beasts/Savage, then realized I only liked Savage and rolled it as Scrappers, Brutes and Tanks. Savage/Bio is a hoot! Got a Beasts/Kin to 50 by pure gumption because I had a fun concept, but got burned out when I realized I was basically a Kin defender who's constantly re-summing idiot pets that die before they defeat anything. Luckily there's plenty of other alts!
-
I'd guess it depends on what you want to do and how much inf you have.
-
I'd suggest pairing it with something that has +End. Axe sucks up the endurance, fast.
-
Update: Still having a blast with Brutes. Made my SS/Electric again and it's even more fun than before with Footstomp coming earlier. Get to Foostomp the Freaks on Yin TF! Also having fun with an Axe/Ice Brute that goes through endurance WAY too fast. I have an Ice/Energy Brute that was a blast until I got to the Carnie contacts π

I've had this Earth/Time slowly leveled up to 50, always teaming; mostly TFs. It's great for control with lots of holds, slows, debuffs, etc, but squat for damage. Can this combo be built to do damage solo? Or is it an epic team support build only?

Whatever happened to Fire/Rad trollers???
ninja surprise replied to The_Warpact's topic in Controller
In case you don't know: the anchor stays active for quite a while after the critter dies. On a team that moves quick enough to defeat your anchor, the entire spawn will be down before the debuff actually expires. So the anchor still benefits the team. Focus on healing yourself and if they want healing they can stand next to you. Personally I got burnt out on my Fire/Rad because every time I got mezzed the toggles all drop (including Hot Feet and Choking Cloud) then the imps die and I have to spend another 10 secs turning everything back on & re-summoning. Back on Live my Grav/Kin Cute Kinetic often duo'd with Li'l Rad the Fire/Rad. We called it the Cute & Rad Show and we were unstoppable! Good times. -
Grav/Kin is a great pairing! It was my first 50 on live and ruined me for all the other controller primaries because it has the most ST damage and does decent AoE. It's a good idea to have dual builds, one for teaming and one for solo, because solo you can skip the Speed Boost and Increase Density in favor of self-defense pool powers. This is my level 50 build. I think Increase Density is an incredibly useful power, especially on low-level TFs like Positron to keep your teammates from bouncing in the Ruin Mages' Earthquakes. My goal in this build was soft-cap Ranged defense, then +Recharge. Winning attack chain: Crushing Field on a spawn - that sticks 'em in place where they are. Target the nearest mob and pop Gravity Distortion to hold 'em - this critter is your "battery" for Transfusion and Transference. Stand next to your battery, spamming Crushing Field (with containment now), and tab through the spawn tossing Siphon Speed/Power, Propel, Crush, Lift, and renewing Gravity Distortion on your battery so it can't attack you while you stand next to it. All the attacks have a damage delay, either from DoT, or Lift & Propel's damage trigger at the end of the animation, so cycling enemies lets damage take effect before your next attack. When you get Wormhole you can stun an entire spawn and put 'em a good distance from other spawns so you control how many you fight. I disagree that Siphon Power is skippable - it's a stackable +40% team damage buff and a -26% foe damage debuff, and you can have it available from Posi on up, way before Fulcrum Shift. You can easily get it stacked 3 times which really helps low-level teams with +120% damage!
