  1. New launcher, and I have Splasher v1.30 build 350 (as shown in the image I posted above).
  2. What if I'm a villain instead of a good citizen? Perhaps my entire villainous schtick is leaving messes for others to clean up. Just enjoy the extra snowmen to add to your Cold Warrior badge progression.
  3. But I was trying to change the character select with the last available version, and it doesn't work.
  4. It is definitely not working for me. I mean, it runs... and I can select an image, but the buttons to Save as login screen and Save as character select screen are grayed out. Okay... I forgot to go to Settings and select where my COH folder is located. But after setting that, it still doesn't actually create the character select screen. I went into the data folder and found the newly created path... texture_library -> GUI -> CREATION -> HybridUI But the folder is empty.
  5. *everything BUT kryptonite or magic
  6. I see where you're going with this, but let me take a different angle. In the old TSR Marvel Super Heroes tabletop RPG, if you successfully evaded an attack with a good enough roll (a Yellow or Red FEAT), you would have not only avoided the attack but also positioned yourself to be in a better attack posture and gain either a +1 or +2 bonus to attack that enemy. Super Reflexes should give a small To Hit bonus to your attacks rather than give back some Endurance. Make it a small but stackable (maybe 3 or 5 times) bonus for each attack avoided, with the bonus lasting for just a couple of seconds. At any given time in the middle of a crowded fight you could have a full stack going on and show that reflexes are as much offensive as defensive. To keep it balanced, the first attack that hits you negates your To Hit bonus stack, and then you start over again.
  7. This is a game, not the comics. I'm sorry, but your logic doesn't fit all manner of comic situations. Superman was granted great powers under Earth's yellow sun, even demonstrating super strength and other powers as a baby. But an Invulnerability character only starts with one power and must either be a weaker resistance to physical damage or the marginally better toggle power? Why can my Superman wannabe not be completely invulnerable to everything by kryptonite or magic immediately?? Thor is the God of Thunder and an awesome warrior who's been around for thousands of years... why must my own warrior god with a millennia of battle experience start out with only the skills of a level 1 crimefighter (or evildoer)??? Green Lantern had all the powers of his ring on day 1, only limited by his imagination and willpower. Why can't my MacGuffin-based character have whatever power I choose to focus on first instead of just two of the three available to starting players?!? Because it's a game and part of the level progression system is to teach you how to run before you fly.
  8. What? They're referred by tutorial arcs that might be skipped as too boring or because it's so much easier to get farmed up in level? Madness... madness, I say. How can newbies be expected to know everything if someone doesn't take them through it all step by step, including following up on these auto-loaded contacts and very easy to find tutorials? Just terribly inconsiderate of you, my friend.
  9. Indeed. I run blasters, controllers, corruptors, and defenders at without any sort defense or resistance and get by just fine, and they have lower health point totals than the melee ATs. If I can do it with those, you can do it with a scrapper or brute... and there's no question you can get by on a tank with your toggles off unless you're being overwhelmed by superior numbers or foes that are too powerful (higher level). Consider the toggles as situational at that point... use as needed, and turn off when you don't need them.
  10. I'm fine with the order of the powers as is. I'd rather have the first 2 powers be toggle powers which gives me a significant bonus to melee and ranged defense over the weaker auto powers version of both of those. Yeah, it's a little harder on the Endurance, but you get more defense out of it right out of the gate. Other powersets that have an auto resist power as tier 1 or 2 are symbolic of those kinds of characters literally just being harder to injure whether they're relaxed or not. Super reflexes is something that I can see thematically as needing to have your guard up to get the full benefit early on... and as you grow into it (level up), your reflexes get so good that that you maintain SOME benefit even when your guard (toggles) is down. No changes needed. (Or desired.)
  11. Some additional info on this topic: https://writing.stackexchange.com/questions/55883/character-name-trademarks-and-copyrights Marvel and DC both own characters named Captain Marvel (although technically DC has started calling their's Shazam to avoid confusion, even though that's just a load of crap, because the wizard's name who gives the hero his powers is Shazam). Only Marvel can publish a comic book named Captain Marvel, though, because they have that trademarked as a comic book title... even though the words Captain and Marvel are technically common words. Likewise, Marvel has a trademark on Thor, even though that name belongs to public domain mythology. Marvel owns the rights to publish comic books (and cartoons and movies) using that name. Marvel also has a trademark on their specific likeness of Thor. Years back, Image Comics published a comic where the title character (Supreme) fought Thor and took his hammer. This lead to the two competing in Asgard by Odin's decree for who would keep Mjolnir... a very similar story to the one Marvel published that is the origin story of Beta Ray Bill. Image's use of Thor in both name and appearance was quite legal because the trademark doesn't apply here as the character's name is used in the story and was not the title of the comic, and his appearance was distinctly different from Marvel's version of Thor for having red hair and a unique style. So, technically, Marvel does indeed have a trademark on their character Bullseye. However, as they do not regularly publish a Bullseye comic book, it's dubious as to whether or not anyone else could do so (because I'm too lazy to go look up when the last time they did publish a Bullseye comic and when their trademark to it was last applied, as trademarks must be renewed every 10 years)... and as long as someone isn't trying to recreate Marvel's version of Bullseye (any of them, probably including the female version in Lady Bullseye), trademark law would not be something that could be invoked over the word as a character name. Oh, yeah, one more edit... DC Comics has also used their own version of Thor as the mythological Norse god of thunder. Not to mention the name being used by various other comics for characters both based on the myths as well as being completely original in both origin and appearance.
  12. It's amazing what you can find available sometimes. When I checked for Beat when Symphony Control was released, I had a whole list of rhythmic-themed names yet to check and was like... 🤯
  13. I wouldn't want to see any new zones until some of the existing zones had more content added. **eyes Kalisti Wharf expectantly** Or maybe upgrade some other existing but under-utilized zones... Boomtown needs work like Faultline got.
  14. Heroes have an infinite capacity for stupidity. Thus are legends born. And that is how we get to...
  15. I think a better option would be to make a specific powerset that focuses on this as a mechanic... and no, not for controllers and dominators. Make it a low damage melee set that deals higher damage against foes that are held, immobilized, stunned, or knocked down. You can add a knockdown effect to one attack and a disorient effect another attack... you can pick up an immobilizing attack in your ancillary pool for 3 chances to set up for your higher damage. Teaming up with controllers and dominators would great.
  16. A green Krampus could just be a COH spin on the myth.
  17. These are civilized druids we're talking about here... not some nature-loving, granola-eating forest dwellers.
  18. Don't forget Uptown Druid, Midtown Druid, Inner-City Druid, Big City Druid, and Metropolis Druid.
  19. He and my City Druid can start their own druid circle.
  20. I do the same with many of my favorite characters.
  21. Some one word names I'm especially pleased with having acquired on Excelsior include: Beat - Symph/Martial Dominator Bricks - Stone/Stone Tank Cheater - Gravity/Energy Dominator Darklight - Rad/Dark Blaster Dervish - Dual Blades/Will Brute Exciter - Rad/Rad Defender Expert - AR/Martial Blaster Exploiter - Poison/Sonic Defender First - Dark/Dark Dominator Flood - Water/Bio Sentinel Hotness - Fire/Thermal Corruptor Mudslinger - Water/Earth Blaster Peerless - MA/Will Brute Preeminence - TA/Archery Defender Shamer - Ninja/Ninjitsu Stalker Superstition - Fire/Dark Dominator Violence - StJ/Bio Stalker Weaponizer - AR/Devices Blaster Shortest name on my list: C-4, a Traps/AR Defender
  22. And finally, I have my mutant Electric/Empathy Controller... X-Miss 11 months out of the year, she has standard color power effects... And all this month she'll put on her holiday outfit with snow aura, her power slide will be colored snow white, and she'll be stringing up the electric lights in Christmas colors.
  23. I also do the holiday helper theme, but forget elves... They're fairies. Satan's Helper Fire Blast / Fire Manipulation Blaster
  24. My santa clone is irradiated for extra holiday cheer. Holiday Rage Street Justice / Radiation Armor Brute
  25. Yeah, but my guy is about horror... Elf on a Shelf is all about terror. No one beats Elf on a Shelf for terror.
