  1. So I went in to add some stuff to my base and the game locked up on me. I wasn't sure if this was a one-shot problem on my side, so I tried it several times with two different bases. Going into edit base mode is fine. I can move around and do stuff, but when I click on the place object option to bring up the menu of options available and the game freezes up on me every time. I hoped initially it was some lag issue that I would recover from and waited for almost 10 minutes with nothing. Could not Alt+Tab out of the game but my computer wasn't locked up --only the game. I pressed the Windows key and the Windows menu would pop up and then I could right click on the task bar and start the Task Manager... but the Task Manager (and any other open windows) was hidden behind the frozen game, so I couldn't get to it to end the game. No problem... just clicking on the game screen triggered faded screen and pop up telling me COH program was no longer responding and gave me the option of closing it out or continuing to wait. So I closed it out and tried it a half dozen more times and tried my second SG base in case there was something specific about the first base.
  2. They ignore pets... not other players who will attack. If you've got even just one full team, you'll be fine.
  3. What you suggest isn't unreasonable. However, it's not always an option as there might be a full league and then two or three people standing around calling out for an invite. Can't invite to a full league, and unless there's at least one level appropriate to the zone, they can't start a new one there... so they have to stand around and wait for an opening.
  4. "Less desirable" is definitely a purely subjective measure. And, technically, ALL of the rewards for the Aether particles are non-impactful cosmetic choices.
  5. Wasn't sure where this was going at first and was getting ready to throw my chair... In the end, I laughed and approve of this message.
  6. Like everyone hasn't requested stuff at one time or another. But when you see stuff added that caters to a specific group and they were asking for it, but people who aren't happy with the change and didn't get anything they wanted, calling them whiners when they speak out isn't the way to go. I'm not saying give everyone everything that ever gets asked for... I'm saying don't call people whiners or other terms simply for voicing their concerns. Maybe they feel like it was mean-spirited to make more hard level content while overlooking their concerns... because the people who did want that and complained for it got what they wanted. I'm just saying that it shouldn't be too difficult to NOT call people whiners. And if someone can't, then that someone --and everyone like them-- is just wrong.
  7. I was saying "you" in a collective manner, not specifically referring to one person.
  8. Let's all go out for coffee, instead. (Tea drinkers are suddenly enraged and start throwing chairs) "We don't like coffee!!" (People who avoid caffeine altogether start lighting torches) . . . (More people show up...) What, are you saying that you hate ice cream?!
  9. "I wish the people that want harder play content would just find some joy in their life instead of complaining and whining here and making other people miserable with getting what they wanted." Broadstroking is always bad. You disagree with an opinion or really don't like something... well aren't you just complaining about the complaining? Go find some joy, man. Double-standards aren't cool. Complain if you want, but calling people whiners because they're complaining about something you don't agree with isn't cool. I mean, either everyone is a whiner or everyone is just voicing their complaints. But if you're going to broadstroke, apply it to everyone equally.
  10. Personally, I'm not a big fan of all the costume choices. Why "hey, look identical to this generic NPC" when we have such a rich and diverse character costume creator. I know, it fits some people's concept, so... whatever. But the shadowy aura with glowing eyes is definitely cool. I definitely see value in being able to add an additional aura beyond and on top of what we already have in the character creator. Here's to hoping we get a lot more of this kind of content.
  11. It turned into that on page 1. I was just pointing out that that sort of thing isn't acceptable.
  12. Okay, implying that anyone is straight up telling people to go away is an exaggeration... but, I mean, here you are in the very same post as saying that no one is saying that and you're wondering why people don't go away to other servers. Oh, I see... you said "Look at other servers." I guess that doesn't mean you expect them to go there, but just look at their options, and maybe they'll find something they like better so they can go there if they choose. But here's the thing, those other servers have issues, too. Maybe HC is the lesser of several evils, but that doesn't mean everything that gets changed here is going to be appreciated or even tolerated without complaint. Again, the people who whined and complained that the game was too easy got what they want, so why wouldn't people who aren't getting what they want speak up?? But when someone distinguishes between the two by calling one group whiners and the other just asking for something, I find THAT to be the real problem.
  13. See, "the attitude comes for free" part kind of detracts from any logic you might put forth here. I'm not saying get out if you don't like it, but no one is forcing you to be a developer and deal with all the complaints and hate for things you do that they don't like. So maybe, if you find you're in a position where you're going to get complaints from both sides no matter what, you could either just present your perspective without attitude or don't put yourself in a position where you'll have to deal with all the hate. People are very passionate about this game and feelings get raw when things go in a direction they don't like. I'll assume, since this game is non-profit, being very passionate about the game is a motivation for developers too. But you're in a better position than the players, getting to make decisions and facilitate them. Players can only sit back and endure the stuff they don't like that is forced onto them by changes made to the game. So while we should probably all keep our attitudes in check, maybe dev attitudes more so? Maybe? Or just don't bother with the job if you can't handle the criticism without dishing out the attitude back at the people who have no control over what changes are made and/or how.
  14. I'm not arguing for or against harder content, mind you. Just pointing out that there seems to be a double standard. Some people want the game a certain way, and they're described as asking for it... Others want the game a certain way, and they're described as whiners, complainers, bitching and moaning about every little thing. Why can't we apply the same terms to everyone equally? Some people were whining for harder content... they complained about every little thing being too easy. They come in and bitch and moan until they get their way. Or, you know... the people who aren't on the same page as wanting all the harder content can just be described as expressing their opinions and asking for stuff, too.
  15. Translation: "The people who want harder content get what they want. If you don't like it, go away."
  16. Nope, sorry... unfair. The handful of people who wanted the much harder content must also be referred to as bitching and moaning for what they want or what you said constitutes as insulting one group of players while treating another group favorably or at least neutral. I do not approve of this kind of behavior.
  17. You can call a set "Magic Blast" without it having to be magic. It's just a descriptive word, not a rule. Just like Assault Rifle can be taken by someone who is a mutant or magic origin and you can claim they are magic bullets... you could also have a Magic Blast powerset on someone with a Natural origin and say that's just an inherent ability for your character. But if you have a problem specifically with the word "Magic" because it also appears as one of the 5 character origins, just replace it with a synonym like "Arcane Blast" or "Mystic Blast."
  18. So when people say the game content is too easy, they're just asking for things to be more challenging... But when people don't like changes because it's too hard and they did not ask for that, they're bitching and moaning about every little change?
  19. To be fair, not everyone spams asking for harder content, but devs listened to those that did and the people who don't want harder content have just as much right to spam their opinions in hopes of being listened to.
  20. Shapeshifting with meaning: the costume powers from the Benevolabs Hologram stuff should come with buffs, like the Defense, Offense, and Survival buffs of the P2W Vendors. Basically it would be a semi-permanent buff so you don't have to keep paying for it (especially costly at higher levels), but have it so it doesn't stack with the P2W Vendors so people aren't getting double bonuses. Each costume type available could be purchased with one of the 3 buffs, and since you can only wear one costume at a time you wouldn't be running around with all 3 buffs at all times like you can anyway if you just decide to pay for it with influence. But if you wanted to make shapeshifting count, you have 3 different costumes and shapeshift in a different form depending on the buff you need/want more. Given the value of the individual Prismatic Aether Particles and it takes 10 per costume (at tier 1), I think just being able to change your appearance to look like a fixed pre-existing NPC type is pretty weak. Granted, it's desirable for some... maybe very much so. But overall, it's a novelty that it purely cosmetic and serves no real purpose other than to give people prizes to grind for. Again, if that's something that someone wants, that's fine for them. But I'm not especially impressed by all those NPC costumes on PCs. Maybe if we had even basic customization of those costumes like in AE's creator when you can do at least a little bit of color change on pre-existing NPCs, but no... cannot change costume while in costumed form, so you get the same stuff that everyone has and that kind of dumbs down the player creativity aspect of a game where one of its most defining features is its expansive costume design system.
  21. Superstition, my Fire Control/Dark Assault Dominator, has a very appropriate theme song... Yes, it's a Stevie Wonder song, but I prefer the SRV version.
  22. This is my fiendish Water Blast/Kinetics Corruptor... Can you guess what she's all about?
