  1. I actually have major interest in rolling this combo thematically. However, the three clicks in Ninjitsu seem like they would not work well with TW’s Momentum mechanic in the slightest. The animations are decently long, and the redraw can be brutal. Thoughts?

    Kinetic melee

Leveling a KM/SD Stalker as we speak. I can confirm that Burst indeed does auto-crit from Hide. I'm only lvl 23, but I see some fantastic synergy between the sets. Build Up -> Shield Charge -> Burst auto-crit. Hopefully either Shield Charge or Burst has reset BU too. Frankly, I don't think I'd roll Kinetic Melee on any AT but Stalkers now as I'm not a huge fan of the Power Siphon mechanic.
  3. I am sadly already noticing this in the 30s. Often times I will not even use Burn when I'm in a larger team. Ice Patch, however, is still great. I do wish the activation time was lower, but it is an awesome mitigating tool when used properly. Especially pulling around corners as you mentioned. But ok great, good to know I'm on the right path for my build. I guess I'm a bit spoiled coming from Shield Defense as it's so absurdly powerful. I need to start Fiery Embracing (see what I did there?) the more offensive nature of Fiery Aura and realize I won't be tanking any time soon. Appreciate you posting the build!
  4. Sgt. Terminus, do you have a build you could share for your Ice/Fire? I ended up rolling this toon, lvl 33 and having a blast, but I am having major issues putting together a build I'm happy with. Frankly, this experience has shown me how many holes /Fire has as a set overall compared to others. My main 50 is a DM/SD, and he was so easy to slot well compared to this. Here is a VERY messy early "build." Obviously some things not even slotted yet. It's very much a work in progress. My main goal should be 75% resists on as many as I can as well as 45% melee defense (which I don't have yet on this). Also I tried to fit in as many LotGs as I could. Note: I will be using the Superior ATOs when I get to 50. Have the normal ones in there for while I level up. Any tips would be very much apprecaited! 5. Awesome build, Sovera. I have a Claws/DA Brute who sucks down end like no other, so the combo with /Bio is probably a blast to play. The fast animations really do make you feel Brute-like. One thing I did want to nitpick if you don't mind... Might not have been what you meant, but I wanted to mention that Scrappers indeed CAN crit with their Epic power pools as well. My DM/SD crits with Fire Ball quite often. I also think one major advantage Claws/* for Scrappers has is Follow Up. Scrappers benefit straight up more from Follow Up than Brutes as their damage baseline is higher. Both stacked Follow Up and Offensive Adaptation would boost a Claws Scrapper's damage to nutty levels. Also Follow Up is the perfect move for the Critical Strikes ATO proc, but that's more a preference thing. Either way, love seeing Claws love on either AT as it's one of my favorite powersets.
  6. I have Scrapper experience, not Brute, but Energy Aura seems like it will be absolutely amazing once built out. It's damage type Defense vs. positional which is a negative, but it also has a great heal, an end recovery tool, and a taunt aura with +Recharge. My Claws/EA Scrapper is close to the softcap for S/L, and he's able to do +2/8 at lvl 32 (painfully at times). Energy Aura seems to be a mixed bag of tools instead of just "Don't get hit." The biggest negative IMO is Energy Cloak because I can't see my badass costume. The 20s are weird teenage years for melee toons I've found. I'd keep going, and I hope you'll be pleasantly surprised.
  7. I don't have hands-on experience with the pairing itself, but StJ and Bio are both solid. I know StJ/Bio is a very strong Stalker combo so it can't be much different for a Scrapper. StJ (at least on my Stalker) was very end heavy so Bio's extra Recovery options will complement that well too. Go for it!
  8. Hi all. This topic inspired me to roll a DM/SD Scrapper, and it's been a blast to play. I'm lvl 47 at the moment and not slowing down. The main thing I want to do with this toon is solo TFs/AVs/whatever I can really. I don't have a ton of Incarnate experience so I did not include that on this build, but I'm pretty happy with what this got me: - 48% Melee Def, 44.9% Ranged/AoE. This is without Manuevers on. I can turn Manuevers on as needed to give me ~ 51/47/47 Melee, Ranged, AoE respectively. - Solid ~ 50% S/L resist. - Soul Drain, Shield Charge, Fireball gives me decent AoE for a DM toon. - 152.5% recharge. As a reminder, this is all before Incarnates. I'd appreciate any build advice for me as well as any tips on soloing TFs or AVs besides using Envenomed Dagger. 9. So I've been wanting to role an Ice Melee toon, and I started thinking of ideas. While I know it might be better on a Stalker due to AS replacing GIS, I've come to the conclusion that I seem to enjoy Scrapping far more. Been that way since live. Once a Scrapperlock, always a Scrapperlock. Anyway, I started thinking of synergies for a secondary. And it dawned on me. Besides being a little squishy compared to other sets, what's a /Fire Scrapper's biggest drawback compared to Brutes/Tankers? If you guessed no built-in taunt and mobs running the hell away from your fire, you guessed correctly! Then I pictured Ice Patch and all of the movement slows from Ice with Burn/Blazing Aura. And the built-in damage mitigation of Ice Melee helping /Fire's somewhat squishiness. And it seems like the two would actually complement each other very well. Does anyone have any experience with this pairing? I searched the forum & Reddit and found next to nothing about the combo.
  10. Awesome, thank you Constantine. I would have given you credit if I knew it was yours. I apologize. But both the old and new version look great. Excited to keep leveling and working towards it. Soloing some GMs sounds fun to say the least. Crazy how different Kaeldian's is than yours for the same kind of toon, yet just as effective. One thing I love about CoH. Anyway, appreciate it!
  11. Hi all. I'm leveling a WM/Bio Scrapper atm (Ashen Knight on Excelsior, say hello if you see me), and I'm absolutely loving it. I've been slotting attuned IO sets on him so far, and he's quite powerful. I've been following another build I found on the forums, but I wanted to see if anyone had any advice/different takes on it. This build is just under the defense cap, and it has a ton of recharge built-in. Please let me know if any WM/Bio vets have any advice on it. I'd really like to slot Gaussian's in Build Up, for example. But I'm not sure if it would be worth it. Also I'm not too thrilled about taking Tactics on a Scrapper. Build below. 12. Currently leveling a WM/Bio Scrapper (lvl 27 currently), and it's been a ton of fun. WM's main issue (like TW) is its endurance drain, and Bio has wonderful recovery. It's a great pairing. With Offensive Adaptation, you do stupid damage. I can't wait for Crowd Control. Bio has a damage aura as well as a taunt aura that provides different effects based on the current Adaptation. You'll always be surrounded by enemies. Though sometimes that can be an issue when you're squishy at lower levels and in Offensive Adaptation, so be prepared.
  13. Not talking hard numbers of anything, but Dual Blades seems to be one of the least popular attack primaries. The combo system is interesting. However, it was the first set to implement that (I think), and it shows. Claws I can say is a fantastic set all around. Spin is Spin, Follow Up stacks lead to big damage. The attack chain is great. So +1 for Claws from me.
  14. So I'm a normal Scrapper guy who is looking to run the most fun Brute possible. I currently am running a DM/DA, and it's a ton of fun. The two still have the synergy they used to back in the day at least so far. Do you find DM/DA to still be a very strong Brute in endgame? DM I know is a solo AV killer (at least on Scrappers). Is it with /DA on a Brute? If not, anything you recommend a pairing with? I was considering Claws/DA (another classic). But then I rolled Claws/Elec and I'm loving it. Random sidenote: Has anyone tried TW/DA yet? Sounds like a leveling nightmare.
  15. I’ve got a DB/DA at level 20. Endurance is definitely a big issue. I have to rest almost always after larger fights. I think it’ll be much better once I got SO’s in a couple of levels. You have to be smart with your toggles. For example, I’ll take Murky Cloud off if I know I’m not fighting any enemies using those kinds of attacks. Death Shroud is super end heavy, but it’s too cool not to use. However, I take it off sometimes when I know have endurance will be critical. Overall, he’s a ton of fun to play, but yes, endurance is an issue.
