  1. As someone that is an advocate for having Unleash Potential or Rune in your build to balance things if you have lots of resist but low defense and vice versa I can see where you're coming from on nerfing the time that Rune is active. I do think that it's fair to have all of those on the same timers. Maybe because some have gotten so used to Rune as it is that 30s chopped off is a bit much to them. I'm indifferent to this because it seems fair but people do like this power. If I had any pull I'd likely chop 15s off of Rune and add 15s to the other ones to meet in the middle.
  2. If you're soooo good at bending AT's to your will then why haven't you gotten good on this one eh? I mean aside from face tanking Recluse on the STF or tanking Hami there isn't a single thing in this game that my dom can't do. There's super hard AE arcs where you can test your mettle on. I've done those with ease on my dom, I suggest you to give it a whirl on whatever AT you find that bends to your will the best and see how you come out. And yeah I don't make it a mission in life to play with bitter stodgy hacks that think they're super duper knowledgeable but turns out they're just on that average knowledge. But I do make it a mission in life not to let others mental problems affect me one way or another so being the open person that I am the invitation is still open, unlike your eyes.
  3. For one Bonfire is broken with that knockdown enhancement that was never on live and for some reason this dev team thinks that's a valid thing to leave as it is. That would have lasted 5 minutes on the live version. Earth is a strong control but other than broken Bonfire knockdown powers are resisted decently. Stuns and knockdown are NOT the hard control you get in Mind Control. It's kind of the same as calling Terrify the backbone of your control. Yeah we don't need to get into Plant, Seeds is far too good as it has been since they introduced that later control set. There are 4-5 pretty good controls with unique things they bring to the table, Plant and Mind are a few of them.
  4. Back when they were redoing the quick snipe to make it more amateur friendly they were reducing the recharge and reducing the damage scale for the doms snipe. This was a clear nerf, doms were well served with a slightly longer recharging snipe with a ton more damage. The damage was going to be cut by 1/3 just to shave a few more seconds off the recharge. I'm so glad that got taken out of the works, I can manage my recharge, what I couldn't do is manage that scaling damage. What's funny is that they were quietly buffing blasters snipe by raising the damage scale and making it recharge just a slight bit longer. A lot of people spoke out against this change that couldn't grasp that it was yet another buff for blasters and they ended up ruining it for themselves. I play blasters too but they're already easy mode so I could care less what happened with that but I for certain spoke against the Dom's getting their snipe nerfed. I'm all for longer recharging powers if they get the corresponding damage scale increase. I can't affect that scale but I can affect the recharge quite effectively so gimme that damage, I'll do the rest. And that's not to mention how much more effective procs are in longer recharging powers.
  5. Some are just stuck in their boxes of usual expectations and then there's others that can think outside of it and see the potential in doms for what it is. I find playing a bag of hp unimpressive, I find buff/heal bots unimpressive, I find walking damage spam unimpressive. The problem is maybe you can't grasp the hybrid nature of the thing and haven't seen for yourself how to do it. Anytime you feel like being impressed you're welcome to come play with what I get to play every day.
  6. Terrify is a nice filler power, but in terms of control its soft at best. It's not a reliable control. I do have it to layer in my control after I drop Mass Confusion or Total Domination. The time it takes to clear the particular mob when you drop Mass Confusion is much much faster than any other power available in the set. The next mob then you can leverage your other aoe hard control Total Domination then the next mob its right back with Mass Confusion. You all act like its a hard task to alternate the two hard aoe controls available to you unlike what you can get in any other control set. I'd assume you'd want to take advantage of the uniqueness of Mind Control but hey what do I know.
  7. Then how do you 6 slot sprint then hmm?
  8. That's fine yes opinion's are subjective. The power to you may be boring yes but it doesn't change the fact that it's still the best power in the set. Sometimes boring is in how someone is deploying the power. So yes if you play in a boring manner the results in your experience would seem to equate to a boring power. I suspect I have quite a different play style and thus don't find this power boring in the least. I do find having to wait for a pet to catch up to me and occupy a target or two quite tame as opposed to controlling the whole group and helping them smash each other.
  9. This sounds like the plot from the Gamestop stock shenanigans. Would that make you the evil Hedge Fund/Robin Hood side vs The People who got a bit of that wealth distribution?
  10. I'm going to have to say to most of your bullet points I'm going to have to disagree with. Fitness was just an always must have power for just about every AT and it was totally valid to in essence give us a 5th pool but one for free. The rest of the powers in the pools should feel like a cost to get them. Hasten is pretty much a must have and one of the best pool powers there is at a cost of one of your pool selections. Tough/Weave is great to have at a cost of taking an attack to start they likely won't use. On that same token I'll agree on the first bullet point. In the presence pool there's only really one viable power at the end where you need to take likely two dead powers, I wouldn't mind seeing a power available that would be of better use as the 2nd selectable power. But then you do have the Origin pools which seem to dabble into a lot of what your wishes are for. I never take combat jumping but I do take the Force of Will pool for my viable travel, a useful ST debuff and then a hell of a defense power. I'd say for the most part we're in a good place for the pool powers. I will say though I agree with @SwitchFade we need to Nerf Regen first and foremost.
  11. Why not both? BU recharges real fast and super fast on average with the stalker ATO. Sure feels like a constant effect to me. There's 23 other powers to choose from to add to your survivability, I think that's doable with still being able to dabble into this one power.
  12. Okay then, shall I go to a Dark Control topic and complain about the t9 pet that I don't take even though when I don't take it I don't get the feel for how useful it really is? Skipping Mass Confusion wishing it were in lieu of a pet like in all of the other control sets you can play reads like you have little familiarity on the subject.
  13. 1: They typically do get the better melee attacks late. There's the first melee attacks at t2 which try to get you used to playing the hybrid playstyle with Doms. They give you a decent one at t2 then for most the obligatory pbaoe at lvl 20 then the stronger melee attack 28-38. Seems pretty well balanced. Now I wouldn't be against upping the damage modifier a smidge for the ST melee. 2: You can easily get yourself a discount permadom. I was broke starting out with HC and the Auction House wasn't even activated yet, that was a slog to get perma. Knowing the sets to target on the cheap you can get yourself a perma I'd say for around 50 mil. That's running a few task forces on your way to 50 and then trading those merits in for Winter Enhancements and selling a few of those to get your perma. LotG's, Decimations, Crushing Impact, Obliteration, Positrons, Manticore, all controls get a recharge bonus. You're not evaluating what's all available to you if you think it costs so much for this. 3: I wouldn't mind seeing the t9 Power Burst moved up to t4 range but that kind of takes away from how important those later powers are. It'd be like getting your nuke at t4 and then all of your power picks after that are downhill. Doms are more about control early and blossoming into good attacks late. I'll usually skip the attacks pre lvl 16. 4: Permadom is fine as it is. Doms consume a lot of endurance because they have a lot of abilities at their fingertips so the full refill is totally called for (and sometimes still not enough). I wouldn't want any nerf to domination for a reduction in endurance consumption. There's plenty of tools available for me to manage that on my own. Domination can be outright mean in the right hands and should be since doms are one of the squishier AT's. Any changes to domination would need to coincide with a bunch of sweeping buffs to the AT in general. There's no real need to tinker with the AT in this way, Domination is just too unique to the AT I love how different it is from the rest of the ATs. For the assaults I'm not against maybe raising the damage scale for the ST melee a little, for the most part the revamp they did was right on par with most of their needs. Then yeah maybe look at the control sets individually for a small update.
  14. If you want a pet why be Mind Control? I'd assume Dark would be a better draw for you. The petless nature of Mind control is one of the major appeals. Mass Confusion IS the best power of all the powers in that set and reducing the recharge by any amount would be breaking the game. At least you should know that you are knowingly gimping yourself. You're welcome to venture along with my dom any day. She will blow your Mind.
  15. No, confusing every mob with no fight back doesn't sound fun nor fair to the npcs to me. Currently at least you have to leverage the other controls available. With such a recharge you can just take Mass Confusion and there'd be no need of anything else in the powerset.
  16. That's a big reason why I skip Shadow Meld and go for Unleash Potential if I need that extra boost in defense. It's a fast animation and lasts longer and in no way inhibits my stalkers when I'm chaining together them big hits.
  17. Reduction in recharge would seem to me to severely reduce the proc chance for Contagious Confusion that reapplies more confusion which allows you the aoe control of a dominator in this one click every so often which I'd assume controllers would like to have. There's already so much aoe control in Mind there's no need for reduction in any recharge for anything. Between mobs I alternate Mass Confusion and Total Domination and sprinkle in a bit of Terrify where needed, mind you this is on my dominator and the instantaneous control on Mind doms is a beauty. I think the problem is some are equating how Mass Confusion should work to how Seeds of Confusion currently works. Seeds is too good imo and if this game was on live for longer likely would have gotten a nerf to it just like Mass Confusion received because it was OP. I have no issue visiting how maybe just the aoe holds for controllers could proc an extra mag hold to give you a taste of the control that doms get. Do keep in mind though you're survivability is inherently much better because of your secondaries so don't hold everything between the two ATs to a common standard. Although I can't wait to Subjugate Ghost Widow!
  18. Yeah I can't see where any toon would not want to take their BU power especially stalkers.
  19. It looks like you're substituting confuse for a power exactly like confuse but at t9 instead of t4. Sure they could rework the sleep to behave a bit more like elec's sleep. The mass confusion is fine as it is, Mind control is a legacy set and the live devs saw it prudent to tinker with it to the iteration that we have now. I don't see any change necessary, it was OP before and now with IOs it's a real strong power currently. The problem is Seeds of Confusion is a bit too good and since Plant was a later powerset it never got the revisit that Mass Confusion got. If anything I'd say tone down Seeds a tad. TK is a tricky one, currently it's a skippable power, if they made it control 8 targets I'd think that would be a happy compromise, it still shouldn't accept any sets since I see problems with pulsing procs arising. If I were to have a revision to Mind Control I'd likely swap Confuse to t2 and Levitate to t4. TK set it for 8 targets. Maybe have a look at the sleep to make it a pulse. Since every control set gets an AoE mass hold I wouldn't be opposed to giving Controllers the ability for it to proc an additional mag hold, in essence giving them the control doms get just with this one power. And with the AoE hold for doms I'd give it a minor to moderate damage proc. No recharge reduction on anything is necessary. Other than that I'd say Mind Control is fine and dandy.
  20. The current enemies in DA were the beginning of ramping up the difficulty for incarnates back on live. Toons running around with the new promised 10 incarnate powers would seem to need some kind of formidable foes. I've found those Knives of Vengeance to be very tough if you're underestimating them and chugging along like normal without paying those groups any mind. They've got one location pbaoe that looks like the roof is falling down on you, if you're in that get out fast. And yes once you are aware of their danger you're conscious of the better tactics to use, so please more harder foes like that, but harder.
  21. Yes it's been suggested. I ask why would you want to copy the pattern of some other butterfly and not just be a unique little butterfly yourself?

On my control build with Terrify I only slot it with 3 of the Fiery Orb set for that 3% hp. You can only spawn one of those orbs at a time and with the amount of targets he just about always spawns for me. Even though he's not all that great of a summon he still takes a little aggro mitigation so it's appreciated. Terrify is a low priority in the slotting department for me even though it gets a bunch of use. I just don't like procs in this one because they hardly proc based on the recharge and then yeah who needs knockdown and the damage procs happen few and far between. So I just low slot it with some control looking for an optimal bonus and call it a day. The dominator patron pets are the best versions you're gonna get if you're gonna take any of them. They're pretty decent albeit kinda squishy. On my damage build I have the seer pet to summon for AV fights, the added damage really is noticeable. Again I just slot the purple pet set to 3 with that BU proc for the 3% hp. I too have trimmed down my slots in health to just the panacea proc. I run a tad hotter this way but for emergencies I already take the endurance replenish attack in Soul Mastery in case domination is further away from activation than I like.
  23. "You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses on would you Mr. Crimson?!" Crimson: Darn game mechanics, I knew I should have stopped with 2 hp.
  24. Must you steal my schtick?!
  25. I've been designated to tank the Warwalkers with my dom on an all squishy Underground and she does quite well but on this task force if the +4 Crimson gets a few lucky hits in she's in for a world of hurt. It's humbling a bit but you see tanks going through some of the same so you have to tip your hat to this beast. I'd have liked to have seen how tough it really was in the secret days.
