Vanden Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 Looks like the text is being drawn underneath the shadow dropped by the badges being moused-over. A Cheat Sheet for efficient Endurance Recovery slotting Invention Set Designer Tool Spreadsheet with every Ancillary Power Pool

ImpousVileTerror Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 I was unable to reproduce that bug. Do you have any details on how it's caused?

Whenever you mouse over a badge in your personal info the text below it is obscured by a shadow. Nothing triggers it in particular as far as I know. I can't read badge names through that tab at all.
Apparition Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 (edited) Happens to me as well. It started happening around late summer last year. I am just glad that the Member of Vanguard badge is distinctive, as I have to check everyone’s badges for it every time I form a Rikti mothership raid. Edited June 22, 2020 by Apparition
ImpousVileTerror Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 And this bugs occurs on all of your characters? I'm wondering if, maybe, there's a common Badge or maybe a setting which you each have that's causing it. On dozens of characters, I have been unable to reproduce the bug, so there's definitely something triggering it that doesn't apply to all players/characters. Would you all be willing to share your in-game Display settings or saved Options files? Your Badge lists?
Vanden Posted November 26, 2020 Author Posted November 26, 2020 (edited) More info about this bug: Apparently it's not caused by the name of the badge being drawn under the badge's shadow, as can be seen in some smaller badges: The text is just drawn mostly transparent for some reason. Also, the bug doesn't occur if the badge name is long enough to need to be split across two lines: Edited November 26, 2020 by Vanden A Cheat Sheet for efficient Endurance Recovery slotting Invention Set Designer Tool Spreadsheet with every Ancillary Power Pool
rufiofox Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 Just commenting to add that I've also had this issue for a long time. I actually thought it was like this at all times on all characters, but the character I just checked *doesn't* have the issue. So, I'm not sure what causes it, but it happens to me more often than not.
TheZag Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Is your UI scale set to something other then 100% ? With large monitors and high resolutions, people tend to make the UI larger and then the badge names ghost out like that. I set my UI scale to 125% and have this same problem but it works fine at 100%. Of course i dont want a tiny UI so i deal with the badge names being faded. 2
Shenanigunner Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 A thought: does the effect change with cel shading or no? I had my UI zoomed in ('cause I'm old, and functioning eyesight ended up not being one of my superpowers—or even normal powers) and couldn't read the badge names. When I reset the UI to 100%, the badge names were all visible. I'm guessing the UI scaling changes a lot of variables that not everything handles well.

UI scaling became sort of a two-factor thing sometime in the HC era. I don't have the game up at the moment, but there are two sliders that are kinda-sorta interactive, and one is locked to the Status window (the one with the bars, pips and main menu). If you scale the UI using that slider, everything changes; if you scale Status using /windowscale, it changes the slider. It's all a bit buggy and weird, especially if you try to use both sliders. My overall solution is to set the initial scale of Status to where you like it, then use /windowscale to size every other window just right, then use the UI save and load functions to keep it that way. Never touch the sliders again, and never settle for one generic scaling so that nothing is really the optimal size. 1 UPDATED: v4.15 Technical Guide (post 27p7)... 154 pages of comprehensive and validated info on on the nuts and bolts!ALSO: GABS Bindfile · WindowScaler · Teleport Guide · and City of Zeroes all at www.Shenanigunner.com
