I'm not really sure about capping all of your defenses as this is a very resist based set, but I have one that is great for all content and has soft capped melee. I find that's all I really need and I have a glaring toxic hole, but that's normal as you get nothing to mitigate that.

I doubt you can softcap to everything. But you don't need to; /Elec is not a defense set. It has very good resistances and a solid heal; it's designed to be able to take a few hits. Having high defense to just S/L or melee is plenty to keep an /Elec brute alive.

You can usually cap one. S/L is normally the best or you can mix a bit of everything and get decent defense to most things. But outside of barrier (for the first few seconds) and external buffs you will not cap out everything.

I wouldn't try soft capping on a resistance set. I'd aim for around 30% to all positions or s/l/e and call it a day. Mixed damage mitigation secondaries are strong and pretty.

Psi/Elec With incarnate powers turned off, but I went Resilient anyway. He'snot 50 yet so I may change things a bit. May do Destiny Barrier to shore up the defense

Considered  Energy Aura?  Typed defense, but should be easy to back it up with positional defense and a moderate amount of resist.
