Back on live I never got into IOs because, if I wanted to craft I would go make a quilt or something.  Here on HC lots of folks have helped me out and I am doing the regular normal IOs on most of my toons.  Yay me!  In order to afford all this fancy stuff I made a farmer who is sitting at 47 now, hopefully get her to 50 tonight after work.

Here is my big ask.  I have Mids Reborn but I have no idea where to start with sets and procs and such to really uber her up so she can afk farm (if I need a ciggy or a snack).  Does anyone have a fire/spine tank build handy for level 50 that I can parse and learn and figure out my options and the best route to go to get her where I want her to be?  I need to learn all the set and proc info what with bonuses and such so I need to know the where, how many, and why of slotting them.  I have scoured both the forums and paragonwiki for info but everything I have found is about as clear as mud to me.

Also, if there is any other vital information I dont know that I dont know please enlighten me!  I never did AE, farming, PLing or IOs on live so I am basically a noob at all this.

Thankies so much for your time and consideration!

PS if ya post a mids build pls include instructions for importing it to my mids because I manage to fail at that every time I try.

Edit:  now I have hit 50 and have no clue about incarnates either!  I'm so lost.

Here is what I came up with on Mids on my own....good bad or ugly.  Am I doing it right or so very, very wrong?

Okay, you're overslotting a lot of things.  And it's basically getting you diminished returns.
One of the things you have to look at sets with is the set bonuses at various levels of slotting.
If one set delivers 3.75% Resistance to X at 6 pieces, but a second set delivers 2.25% Resistance to X at 4 pieces, and you have 5x Resist powers...
It generally makes more sense to take the slightly lower Resist number to make it up on multiples while saving slots.

Here's a slightly different build.

Thank you!  I am still trying to figure out how and where to see all the important numbers...my main goal was to cover all types of damage so I didn't even notice diminishing returns (why is psi so hard to guard against?).  I will load this into mids (fingers crossed) and have a look at the numbers...still trying to wrap my head around those.

I appreciate your time and input so much!

I was all set to post some info but then I noticed it was a tanker build and not a brute, so I'm not sure how applicable my info would have been. One method I use to focus in on the sets I need to flesh out a build is to head to the enhancement sets wiki page and use the find function (hit CTRL+F) to highlight sets with the bonuses I need. For instance, if you want Fire Defense, search for the term "Fire/Cold Def". That will highlight the sets that offer that bonus and make it a little easier to decide which sets and how many slots are optimal. Also, be sure to check each power and note all the possible sets that could fit there. Some powers will accept "secondary" sets that may offer a more optimal path to the bonuses you want. For instance, a damage power may also accept taunt sets that may have better bonuses (or require fewer slots to get to a desired bonus) than those offered by the damage sets. That won't always be the case, and you probably don't want to overdo it slotting with secondary effects, but it can be worth it to check and can give you more options.

Good luck! There's a certain art to optimizing a build, but it's rewarding when you can get all the puzzle pieces to fit together.

Thanks for the input!  I am still wading through the set bonuses and stuff but 'find on page's is a good tip.  The numbers and math is still giving me grief but I think I may be starting to get a handle on it!

Thanks again!

Ok here is the build I think I'm going with.  What ya'll think?

No offense.  Not enough attacks.

Is the amount of AoE you can put out impressive?
Yes.  But you're going to have trouble killing things.

I’d say physical perfection is still over slotted, and assault should be good with just one end red. I find on my farmer that ageless cured all my end woes. In weave I’d probably take another slot from above for more def and a 2-slot set bonus. Combat Jumping is over slotted unless you’re chasing a specific set bonus. I’d take one of your res IOs out of weave to free up another slot for set bonus; the defense from weave is much higher than combat Jumping, resulting in a corresponding higher increase for eac def IO investment. Just some quick things I noticed.

Thank you both...good insight and suggestions.  Still tweaking it and have found a new friend on my server that want to entirely remake my toon...lol.  He wants me to ditch consume but I love consume it posses off the baddies in droves!

Thanks for the tips!
