We will fill the Bat Cave with mementos from these meaningless goons!" In media I've seen (Comics, Cartoons, Films, Video Games), If the goons are harming/killing civilians, Batman will rescue the civilians first while simultaneously taking down the goons. Leaving the thugs incapacitated/restrained for Gotham PD to pick up, then he will go after the big man himself. New Costume Pieces Request Thread New Weapon & Shield Models Request Thread

I can see giving full or close to full experience, because it's a fully-immersive experience giving all the sensory feedback of actually fighting the opponents in the AE mission, but since it was rolled out I've held the same opinion as you regarding other rewards -- all you get are tickets. Having leaderboards and badges for mission performance would make for additional incentives. And I think it would be entertaining to have the AE missions be streamed for the city's residents to view, with appropriate NPC commentary added, things like how well or poorly a character did on a recent mission, or (for the characters that dive into the AE building immediately on creation and don't come out for tens of levels, comments like "XXX is awesome in the AE replays; just think of what they could do if they came out and actually fought crime!" (blueside) or "I'm glad XXX spends all their time in AE missions; they'd be terrifying if they were out making a name for themselves." (redside). 1
Haijinx Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 We need the AH rewards to at least stay the same, the drops are basically fueling the IO supply. That said right now we are in a decent place as far as prices/inflation of IOs, so raising the rewards wouldn't be a good idea either IMO.

Pretty much how I was going to respond. it's often the reason the big bad is able to get away for several issues/episodes. lol 1
Display Name Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 So anyway... I realized that it's still possible to farm candy canes through the traditional methods. +4/x8 solo on the Lady Winter mission given by the old geezer in the ski lodge in Pocket D seems to be the most efficient method. Putting together the Lord Winter TF is much too tedious when you can farm solo! So no need to change anything! Yay! @Super Whatsit Superbase passcode (Excelsior) is "passcode-6475" It's all a Nemesis plot. But not everything is a Nemesis plot!

Yet this games just encourages "heroes" to go into a villain lair and defeat them when they are not actually hurting civilians. Heck, when there is an actual civilian to rescue, players complain how obnoxious it is to escort them to safety.
plainguy Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 Not gonna lie many of my petless masterminds would not be created today without PL and farming in AE. So I am grateful for it. Then you go into another villain's lair, defeat them, and if there's someone there is makes sense that you'd complain about them dragging their feet the whole way back to the door. Also, tying most of the rewards to mission completion and end-of-arc bonuses will just lead to more stealthing of content. When merits were introduced, the merit rewards for SFs (and many arcs) was so much lower than the heroside TFs was due to a lot of stealthing for the rewards when IOs first came out.

I would prefer that world 10x times over the "kill lots of trash to level up fast." I love this game and the combat system, but the reward systems are out of the stone age. Mission design can also be way too simplistic. I think one of the most perfect missions is Frostfire's very early on, a mission where you had to defeat small mini-bosses to be able to unlock doors and continue through the map until you made your way to the boss.

Here you go, take a look at some of the times. Are you sure you want people running out of content that quickly?
Super Homer Posted December 23, 2019 Posted December 23, 2019 You are only listing TFs, and even if that was all, how would anyone run out of content? If any of those gave a big payload of xp/inf only once a day, even if you speed-ran them all, you would still be able to get the equivalent of a full time job day worth of content, at least hero side, and that's just in TF form. There are also all the story arcs available. I am not expecting the team to do any of this now, the game is what it is, and a volunteer teem would not have the resources to do proper content, but any successor better not be trying to just copy CoHs mission "kill trash" model for progression and instead pay attention to quality over quantity design of mother MMOs. As it stands, the only viable content to progress efficiently is doing the same farm over and over, meaning we ran out of content the day we all played through any of those farms, since they are all basically the exact same thing.
