Dynamic Respec?

I need this to happen, even more than Super Strength for Scrappers.

Ill vote for this to.  This might be one of those rare occasions when you'd have a clear majority wanting something.

Agreed completely. 

 

Before IO's existed, I only had ONE character with Hami-O's, and even he didnt' have many. Everything else was SO's on every character.  So for the most part, I would drag up the handful of Hami-O's (if I had any) to the "don't kill me tray", and then let ALL my other SO's remain in the bottom bucket, where they would be automatically vendored, and then I'd just go visit Ghost Falcon and buy new SO's.

 

With IO's, they don't vendor anyway, and if they did, it still wouldn't be anywhere near what the AH would pay for them for, and the hassle of losing any of them and replacing them is very real. So it's very careful management and triple checking that yes, I do have everything saved off into one of my trays.

I now plan my characters from the beginning to avoid respecs, and when I discover my planning has been inadequate and I need to respec after all, I am crushed, and wind up putting it off for a long time.  I was just searching for suggestions like this before making my own thread, thank you.  I know resources are painfully limited bur this would be a a nice quality of life thing someday.

Micro Repecs! Spend 10 merits at the vendor, and you can move one slot to another power. So you don't need to do a FULL RESPEC when, for example,  you discover you have enough global recharge to make Hasten perma with just two recharges instead of three.

It's been a while since this topic regarding tweaks or improvements to my least favorite, lingering original mechanic in the entire game got a reply.
 
Not that I expect anything will happen - but I despise the respec mechanism enough to contribute to the thread.  And of course, to not do respecs.

I don’t get this at all.

Would I prefer to redo one slot or power choice? Of course!

 

Do I avoid respects like the plague?  Hell no!  I can knock one out completely on a 50 in under 10 minutes (maybe even 5).

They don’t take long, and are not complicated - so why so much fear?

And if done by a zone transit, will restore power icons to their proper positions after the transition if the player doesn't move them around after the respec.

Anecdotally, and maybe it says more about me, I've had to redo a respec a couple of times on a couple of different occasions because I made a mistake. User error, no question. 

Some characters are super fast and easy to rebuild. And sometimes, while I'm doing the respec, I get called away, lose my place, or even worse, I think - why aren't I doing X instead of Y? And then, when the respec is over, I suddenly realize why X was the better option. It's my issue - nothing to do with the respec process. 

My biggest beef with it is we can only carry 70 enhancements in our trays, and our builds can hold almost 100, or more if you're a HEAT or VEAT.
