  1. So once again I log in and pull up my global friends list. There are a few names on it, so I look to see who is...damn, it just re-ordered that list and I can't see all the names. I manually sort by shard and it stays up for a few moments, then re-sorts itself differently. My apologies if this has been brought up before -- I did a search and looked at a couple of pages of results and did not recognize it. This must happen to other people, right? Is there a setting i can change to keep the global friends list from acting autonomously? It's a minor annoyance but I wince every time.
  2. I'm fine with it, but it doesn't go far enough. If we're gonna do this, diminishing returns on DAMAGE dealing too. Seriously, the game already prioritizes damage over all. If yer gonna nerf team buffs, in the gamer that makes team buffs great, nerf damage too. Live with it.

I now plan my characters from the beginning to avoid respecs, and when I discover my planning has been inadequate and I need to respec after all, I am crushed, and wind up putting it off for a long time. I was just searching for suggestions like this before making my own thread, thank you. I know resources are painfully limited bur this would be a a nice quality of life thing someday.
  4. In general, I don't feel the need for defense on a dedicated Hurricaner. Mine got 17% ranged defense by accident, but running Hurricane most of the time is better than being soft-capped. My main Stormy (who has only one Stormy?) is a Storm/Dark Defender.
  5. Doesn't the proc have a 10-second cooldown and 5-second duration? Isn't 50% the theoretical upper limit on uptime?
  6. These days I generally put 1 generic End Mod (and boost it to +5 when I can), 1 attuned Perf Shifter End Mod, and 1 attuned Perf Shifter proc. I don't think attuning the proc makes any material difference to its performance, but it lets me get the 2-piece bonus (+7%) movement speed) at all levels.

  8. All right, Blaster looks good. I was starting to make one and got hung up on primary choices. Considered in terms of pairing with Trip mines, is there any reason to recommend one over another? Sonic for -resist? Ice for slows?
  9. My Storm/Dark Defender relies on six-slotted Gloom. Is there something I don't know?
  10. Also, for MA/SR combos, when you defeat a foe with Storm Kick and immediately the animation for Practiced Brawler chains. That looks so cool.
  11. They did buff Dominators in a patch already. That doesn't mean it wasn't sufficient, I guess, but they are better than they once were.
  12. Do Defenders have melee attacks in their secondaries? I can't think of any.
  13. Just a word to the wise...here on Homecoming, they've disabled the thing where turning off xp on a 50 doubled the influence. As I understand it, xp on pr off makes no difference, so might as well turn it back on and grind Incarnate goodies.

Looking at the character creator, I see that while Blaster tripmines do not have the interrupt, they have a longer recharge: Blaster: Activation: 2.77 seconds No interrupt Recharge: 30 s Defender, Corrupter, Controller: Activation: 5 seconds Interrupt: 4 s Recharge: 20 s If I'm piling up tripmines, wouldn't the 20 second recharge help more?

  16. I have Dark/Dark Blaster whose costume and bio I like, but actually playing him feels underwhelming and I am considering remaking him as a Dark/Dark Corrupter.

  18. When I played mostly support I felt the exact opposite of what you say. Pre-cap nobody wanted support and actively insulted support players.
  19. IMHO the aggro cap is crucial to the game making any damned sense at all. Before it was instituted in the first place the game was almost entirely one Tanker and a few Blasters and damn everyone else. Mass herding also felt stupid and artificial. The cap may not make "sense" logically but it's made the game wonderful instead of a sad frustration.
  20. Yes, it used to be much more reliable, almost impenetrable. It was nerfed back when they found out how well it worked in PVP and peopl comained. They were against having it work differently in PVP for some reason, so PVE took the nerd too. Now they have PVP IO sets, so that argument is a little silly.
  21. We4ll, there was a whole Iron Eagles supergroup dedicated to this style of play back in the day. They are at least somewhat active here on Homecoming. I played with them for years.
  22. If you're going to solo, might as well pick the set that groups complain about -- Storm. Storm is really great and even better solo. I have a Storm/Dark at 50 and I literally didn't look at defense numbers when slotting him for endgame. Turns out he runs about 17% Ranged defense, but it doesn't matter, since slotted Hurricane floors everything's to-hit. On top of having floored to-hit, enemies are slowe3d (so they attack less often) and ragdolled (so they attack even less often), so it's actually safer than merely being soft-capped.
  23. Back in the day I really got some jollies out of piling up Trip Mines and luring foes to an explodey surprise party. I have no illusions that Trip Mines are good for fast clears, just want to have fun. But what AT to get the most out of Trip Mines?
  24. I think what's happening mechanically is that the -knb turns it into knockdown, but when enemies are knocked down they briefly ragdoll. If Hurricane's repel pulses while they are ragdolling, it flings them. Pretty annoying.
  25. Can you tell me how to do it? Can't figure out if it works or not when I don't know what to do.
