Warwallalt Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I do realize that cheap is a subjective term, so I will further explain. This is only a character I would try and PL friends, or alts with. It is in no way going to be a main. For this build I'm not dreaming of being the king fo farmers, nor do I care what the power choices are. Since this will actually have limited use, I don't want to go crazy investing, but want to be effective. So looking for any builds that people consider cheap, or may be a "use this till you get all your desired sets." Thanks in advance for any time you folks spare. 😄
LordBob Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 Personally I hate spines. mostly because of the redraw after using anything other than spines and throw spines being a cone. I would recommend rad/fire but download mids play around with it and you can end up capping fire def using mostly yellow and a couple orange sets. Im at work but I can post my cheap ss/fire (which im swapping to rad/fire really soon) and it will be the same idea really.
Warwallalt Posted January 23, 2020 Author Posted January 23, 2020 I don't really like spines either, just trying to see what can be done. This is a second account, so I went the easy route. The real power farmers in the SG I'm in seem pretty happy with Rad/Fire.
Kabuki Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 (edited) This is what I use on my farmer... it was relatively inexpensive ( I self leveled through farms and didn't have a huge amount to spend). I added the Winter set to Ball Lightning later to push me to the soft cap in fire defense. Prior to that I had to either pop the occasional purple or use my heal a lot more often. EDIT: I did use the Cardiac Core Alpha for a while to maintain stamina prior to getting the Destiny to T3. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1504&c=688&a=1376&f=HEX&dc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dited January 23, 2020 by CosmicDreamShade
Gunnarr Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 There is actually a whole guide to Low Budget Fire Farming, using a Spines/FA, here on the forums. I've followed it and had great success. My build is now evolved from it somewhat (as I could afford improvements) and I'm very pleased with how I went from "You have zero inf and no insps" to "You are level 50 now and can farm +4/x8 without a purple pill addiction". I don;t make as much as the high end builds, but I make enough to be pleased with the results 🙂
AboveTheChemist Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 (edited) I'm not sure if this is as cheap as you are looking for, but I put this build together for about 150 million over the summer. I think it might be slightly more expensive now, to the tune of maybe 175 million. Granted, I am extremely patient when bidding for my builds, placing relatively low bids and waiting sometimes a week or two for them to fill. It'll be more expensive for the less patient. Here's the build. I put it behind spoiler tags to avoid the wall o' text. There are no purples or ATOs, just uncommon and rare sets with a few choice PVP IOs thrown in. It provides 45% fire/cold defense and 90% fire resistance pre-incarnates. I had never had a farmer before and built him simply to see what all the fuss was about. It was a fun process and I am really happy with how he turned out. He can clear +4x8 fire farms with ease, and I use a macro/popmenu to convert inspirations to reds and consume them while I am farming. That plus the odd tap of Consume and/or Healing Flames is all he needs. I didn't include the incarnates I ended up using, but I generally stuck with the ones that would increase either damage or defense. Honestly I have not farmed much with him since getting the incarnates (I just haven't needed the money) so I am sure he's much more effective now than before. I make no claim that this is any kind of special or ultimate build. He does the job, though, and didn't break my bank in the process. Resistance has a hard cap. Technically Defense does too, but it's absurdly high and immaterial to the issue of flooring an enemy's chance to hit you, so instead we talk about the soft cap for defense.

Sailboat Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 That's one of my personal bugbears; I'm sure your meaning was understood. 🙂
Outrider_01 Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 SS/Fire/fire? Got a rocking farmer build from another guy. Only weakness, only 40% soft cap but can get 3 buffs from P2W to cover it and get some extra DMG and Reg/Recovery at 2.5m a pop per hour. 4 second recharge on foot Stomp, forget the time of fireball and melt at 50 sec. Set burn and needs a taunt enhancement until the fear is reduced. Expensive though, about 1.2 billion but requires +5 boost on a lot of enhancements which I am still working at and the Incarnate power that increases endurance regen as it eats blue. Even without, still burns them down fast with minimal buttons and a macro to convert all small insp into red to stay at DMG cap. At work, but can post it later if you want.
