Bopper Posted January 29, 2020 Posted January 29, 2020 It is almost always better to focus capping on one (45% defense or 90% resistance), then whatever you can get of the other is gravy. You can use the Survivability Tool in my signature to see how the numbers play out. I'm not saying to skip anything, I'm just saying it's best to focus on capping first. Let me put it this way, having 40% defense and 50% resistance is the equivalent of having 45% defense and 0% resistance. This is assuming the enemy has 50% tohit (not the case for incarnate content, fyi). So that last 5% defense added was worth 50% resistance. If you DO, Resistance determines how much of the base damage you will actually take. 2 If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!

This is a leveling build, and so I need to keep an eye on the short term as well as the long and the endgame. (As well as on the budget, I've got a ton of alts I'm leveling, so I have to spend carefully.) (And it would fit better thematically.) Both have some useful mitigation and help build a chain that doesn't rely on lots of recharge to always have an attack available. (I think I'm going to hold off on Tough until I get to SO's and/or slot some set IO's with Recovery bonuses. At lvl 12 I'm already seeing some End issues.) In my opinion the question of Boxing or Kick is kind of flip a coin, it isn't an attack I'll ever use so it doesn't matter. I can't help but think you'll be better served by your primary attacks than by anything in the Fighting pool. On your end issues I prioritize the Miracle +recovery, you can slot it as low as 17 and it'll have a noticeable effect on your endurance. As an alternative to Air Superiority try slotting the Kinetic Combat KD proc into single target attacks, it'll fire off fairly often as a 3 ppm proc. 1 Guardian Survivor, occasional tanker and player of most AT's. They're only picked because we need them to get deeper access into the pool. You COULD take Boxing, but Boxing, and the specialty IOs available for it really deliver nothing important. Kick, however, gives you something to slot a +Rech IO. And you can pretty much ALWAYS use a bit of Recharge in a pinch. As for the KD. Sure. It might be useful. It's OK, I want to re-arrange a couple of slots I put in the wrong places when I get to DO's anyhow. (I'll be XP-locked for badging reasons at 14 and 19, so DO slotting is a MUST.)
