So got it into my head to try soft-capping S/L/E/N defenses on my WM/RAD Brute,hopefully without sacrificing to much resistance and I just can't seem to get there. And after staring at it for longer than I care to admit.

I have come to you,Oh great builders of the brute, seeking guidance and advice.

to start, you could/may need to slot some more +def in weave and maneuvers.

Because /Rad is a resist only set, it will be nearly impossible to hit all def caps.  I think it's more wise to aim for S/L def cap only.  Since /Rad focus on energy resist, you won't have issues tanking Energy damage, and S/L resist will naturally be high.  Your only real hole is NEnergy and Psi damage, but those rare damage types can be supported by your absorb/heals.

@Obus Form your right of course. I was just interested to see if it could be done without totally gimping the build. The recharge is horrible for one thing. Haven't completely give up on the idea yet but it is more folly that useful.

That being said I got to thinking someone might stumble in here looking for a WM/Rad build and figured I should at least post the build I am actually using right now. Not 100% happy with it,would love couple more slots in Beta Decay for procs. But it is a start.I am one of those constantly tweaking and respecing.

Replacing build data

could swap out a bunch of the +Res bonuses to hit softcaps while doing L10-49 content, where there is less DefDebuff. then alternate Rune & Melee Core in end-game content, to get Resists up near cap & absorb more of what gets through when DDR cascades. with the right Rad build, you can have the +Rech required to only see a 30sec gap every 5min.

Tweaked build some more and I am happy with it currently. Can probably be improved upon but a lot depends on play style,solo,teambuild,etc.

Anyway I replaced the build I had right above this post with the new one if anyone is interested.

You can reach the softcap with some frankenslotting, here it is for SLEN, but you give up resistances, which can be filled in with Meltdown later

There is a +5 buff on the P2W, lasts an hour at 2.5 million cost each hour, stacks 8 times.  Can fill those gaps.

 

Need a Mace/Mace brute; cause war mace is that awesome.
