TCRSavage Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Hi all, I've been playing a rad/rad scrapper up to 32, here's where I'm at: http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1072&c=454&a=908&f=HEX&dc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ow, I kick serious butt, but it doesn't matter if there are 8 enemies or 1, I am out of stamina every fight unless I'm popping Unleash Potential at the start. I'd like some help building this out and theorycrafting from here to the endgame. Please help!
Werner Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Your attacks are where most of your endurance is going, so an endurance reduction in each should make a significant difference. That's where I'd start. I also normally three slot Stamina when leveling. Well, four slot actually - I stick in a Performance Shifter proc as my first slot, then three regular blues. But I'm not familiar with Rad/Rad, so I could be missing things specific to your primary and secondary that others may catch, and won't be of much help getting you from here to the endgame.
RobotLove Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 (edited) Get some recharge into Particle Shielding to bring it's cooldown at or below 60sec. Keep it up at all times as it has a major buff to recovery. If this doesn't solve your endurance issues, drop an acc for an end.redux in your attacks. Particularly Devastating Blow has a higher than normal base acc and shouldn't need two of them. Also, Radiation Therapy doesn't need acc. IIRC it's base is 3.00x and the scrapper/stalker variant is a bit different from the tank/brute version. It gives a smaller heal, but a major boost to regen, which doesn't need a hit roll to function. Edited April 22, 2020 by RobotLove
TCRSavage Posted April 23, 2020 Author Posted April 23, 2020 I need to put some time into getting particle shielding working, thanks for the input. My confusion with this set is that there are a lot of "additional" affects that either cannot be enhanced, or are enhanced on some powers but not others (like the regen component). I can't figure out where best to put my slots. I have thought about taking more advantage of the contaminated effect and maybe in creasing the recharge of the first two punches and primarily cycling those, since the animation time is so long on devastating blow and the other attacks. Does anyone play rad/rad? I can't find any theorycrafting in the forum on this scrapper set.
Uun Posted April 23, 2020 Posted April 23, 2020 Particle shielding is a 50% recovery buff, vs 25% for stamina (base). Gamma Boost also provides a recovery buff which decreases as your health goes down (and the regen buff increases). At 100% health, it's around a 36% buff. I have 1 endmod IO in Stamina, 1 in Gamma Boost and none in Particle Shielding (which is slotted for heal/absorb and recharge) and have no endurance issues, although all my attacks also have end reduction slotted. My current build is below. Be aware that I intentionally did not go for defense in this build (focusing on regen and resistance), which works well until you face unresistable damage. TCRSavage Posted April 24, 2020 Author Posted April 24, 2020 The resistance/not defense was also my thought process when I came up with my hero concept. I'm not familiar with the late game so unresistable damage had not occurred to me. Thank you for the information on the power specifics, that helps a whole lot, as does seeing how you slotted some of the secondaries. What does your attack chain look like? Do you keep things like Proton sweep for situational use or is it part of the regular rotation? Thanks!
Generator Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 Honestly, apart from Hamidon, are there really enough sources of unresisted damage that we have to worry about it?

Do you keep things like Proton sweep for situational use or is it part of the regular rotation? Typically I'll open with Fusion, Ground Zero (triggering the Critical Strikes proc) and Atom Smasher. If anything is left standing, I'll throw in Fire Ball. For single target, I'll alternate Contaminated Strike and Radioactive Smash. I might throw in Proton Sweep as a filler or Radiation Siphon if I need to top up my health. I don't use Devastating Blow unless I'm certain the foe will still be alive when the animation ends (bosses and AVs), or if I'm planning to one-shot something. Proton Sweep has been in and out of my build several times. I primarily use it when I exemp down for lower level TFs where Atom Smasher and Ground Zero aren't available and I have no other AoE. The stats say it's wider than Shadow Maul but it really doesn't feel it. I have a hard time hitting more than 2 mobs with it. The range really needs to be extended from 7 to 9 feet. The cones on Staff Fighting are 9 feet and easily hit 5+. Uuniverse

Well to be sure, "wider than Shadow Maul" is a long way from "wide." 🙂 I kept Proton Sweep in my Tanker's build, where the AOE increase makes it more usable, but on my Brute I ditched it.
Sovera Posted April 24, 2020 Posted April 24, 2020 With Radiation Therapy you should not have endurance problems. It recharges so blimmin' fast. What you probably lack is a Theft of Essence proc in it to increase your endurance gain. - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.
