Tips on War Mace

Something like this would work.  Ideally, I'd like some room for Manuevers, but there's just too much good stuff both in Rad and WM to pass up.  And Rad is actually not that slot intensive, so there's plenty of room to six slot your attacks.

Yeah, I changed the build again. I had 6 prev med slotted in other rad tanker builds, but I find this particular build really tight, especially with war mace. 😕

Warboss: Beta Decay should be okay with two slots, it's not exactly overkill if you see the values. Combine that with proc bombed Rad Therapy is really good. I actually don't like Ground Zero. It requires accuracy, unlike Rad Therapy, which have higher base accuracy. Also, Ground Zero have a slow mo animation. Rad Therapy win hands down. The procs in Jawbreaker and Shatter definitely helps.

You made a good point about psionic resist from hecatomb. I might drop one Psi resistance IO, and change the proc with hecatomb damage IO. That means 3 slots left for lv44...

I was too tired and didn't noticed one slot left. /facepalm

I haven't tried procing out RT, I'll have to give that a try.

I have tried various slotting on Beta Decay and didn't really notice much happening procs wise. For me it isn't worth more than one, maybe two slots (if I'm feeling daring on the build).

I like GZ as I've said because I use/slot it for KD. It works great and provides some healing for the team and is basically up at least once per mob, depending on level and difficulty settings.

I'm still seeing one slot available at level 11 on the new build.

I just went with the default slot in beta decay on my Rad tank and used the Achiles' heel -res.

The selling point of ground zero is the huge number of enemies it can hit over a wide area. It is superfluous if you have enough aoe in your melee set though. Procced out rad therapy is a good choice regardless of how much aoe you already have. It's quick, does good damage, heals you and buffs regen, can give end with a theft proc and I only recently noticed it does -150% regen to enemies. If it made a cup of tea at the same time it would be the ultimate power in the game.

I usually open up with RT for the debuff, then GZ for the KD, and then flow through my AoE attack chain, by the time I'm done, it's time for RT again, rinse repeat. I target bosses and above with STs as needed and fire of GZ when it's up again. It's amazing how fast you can burn down mobs when opening with RT, then applying it again when it's back up.

If that's the case, then you should try out proccing RT on test, it's really good!

Edit: You know what? You're correct about Ground Zero, it's a good aoe. I'm too stupid to realize this, but mayyyybeee I can replace Whirling Mace with Ground Zero. Nothing special about that WM [pb]aoe, and it has small radius...

Agreed, I just haven't decided on which Tank to test it with. But, it being the weekend, I should be able to find a willing subject.

Didn't the radius on WM get increased with the recent Tanker love? I haven't tried WM here yet, but looks like I need to. ;)

Yeah, the flavor text said 8 ft, but I assumed after the changes, it's 15ft [Doesn't feel like it, maybe it's the accuracy problem]. Rad Therapy have 20ft, and GZ have 15ft but it's good buff/debuff. I'm not sure how the +HP ally works, does the ally have to be in the radius?

50% of 8 does not 15 make. You get 12 and you'll like it!

The following advice is specific to the Tanker version of War Mace.

I was able to achieve the best pylon time using the rotation Clobber -> Shatter -> Gloom -> Jawbreaker. With this rotation, I am able to get consistent times at around 3:10 with my Radiation Armor/War Mace Tanker without Hybrid: Assault clicked.

I use Musculature Core T4, Degenerative Core T4, and Hybrid: Assault Radial T4 incarnates. However, after testing incarnates on the test server, I found that Hybrid: Assault Core resulted in better pylon times because it benefited Shatter more than Hybrid: Assault Radial.

The only AOE skills that War Mace needs are Crowd Control and Shatter. Crowd Control and Shatter will do more damage than Ground Zero, and have much faster recharge times. That being said, if you are comfortable with using damage procs to build a proc monster, then you can add some nice AOE to your build by putting damage procs in Radiation Therapy and Dark Obliteration. Radiation Therapy is a 20ft PBAoE proc bomb that hits 10 targets with high accuracy, casts in a second, and recharges in ~17 seconds. Dark Obliteration is only 15ft. I recommend taking one or the other and slotting it as a proc bomb.

I have to confess this slotting hurts mah sole.

I can never slot Tankers as "Tankers"

My builds look more like what you'd see on a Scrapper.

Maybe with even less slots devoted towards increasing survival.  After all,  damn Tankers are nigh-indestructible.

So my attacks and damage will be the focus.
