Themed ITF - All Trollers - Mass Chaos

I've always loved forming themed ITFs back on live and decided to do an all-troller team today.   Thanks to everyone who joined,  you guys rocked!

 

We ended up with the following powerset combinations:

Plant/Storms x2

Ice/Storm

Illusion/Rad

Illusion/Kin

Plant/Rad

Illusion/Dark

Illusion/Poison

 

A few screenshots attached showing the chaos....  pretty sure Rom was in there somewhere :)

 

Going to have to do an all defender one sometime,  not sure if I have the guts to do an all blaster though.

I've ran a few on our Parks and Wrecks Plant Troll/Dom team, it's amazing to watch everything melt with creepers everywhere.  Nice one just rolling all Trolls, hope to join you in the future.

Just did round 2 of an all-troller ITF this evening.   Great fun was had by all!

Group composition was:

Fire/Rad  ( my character )

Fire/Therm

Illusion/Time  x 2

Elect/Time

Illusion/Poison

Illusion/Rad x 2

 

There seems to be a pattern here,  Illusions is very popular.  I may have to do an all illusion next time.  :)

I only have one controller on Excelsior (Illusion/Poison). If you run it on Torchbearer I can bring a Gravity/Storm.

I ran another one this evening, a bit rougher than usual due to a lot of group splitting, but we got through it ok.  :)

Ice/Cold ( my character)

Mind/Empathy

Illusion/Rad x 2

Illusion/Time x 2

Plant/Poison

Gravity/Kin

Decided to pull my Illusion/Storm out of mothballs for this run to go along with all the other illusion trollers. :)

.... and we took along one Fire/Fire dominator :)

 

Awesome run, ran pretty smooth.   Great team guys, thanks!

 

I may have to try something different next time, maybe a Lambda itrial, or maybe some other TF.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Just did another one this evening,  and amazingly enough - not a single Illusion Troller showed up, I was a bit astonished.     This one had a very ICY/PLANTY theme to it.... enough so that Romulus asked the Nictus how to get his frosty bum warmed back up. 😉

 

The powersets were as follows:

Ice/Cold  x 2 - My character and one more

Grav/Nature

Ice/Storm

Plant/Pain

Plant/Kin

Plant/Storm

Electric/Nature

 

Went a lot smoother than I expected considering we didn't have the usual army of Illusion pets tanking for us -  I don't think we had a single death.  We were also quite successful in keeping Rom

from running all over the place - the overload of Ice might have had something to do with it.     Thanks to all who joined,  it was an excellent run!

It really is astonishingly easy and quick to send a toon across to another server.  I was a bit hesitant to do so myself, until I tried it. 

 

I can understand if you worry your name might get grabbed though (most of mine are pretty crazy so I don't worry about it).

I have a couple of dummy / unused chars on the origin server. So I do a transfer and then rename one of those to preserve the name, out of excess paranoia.

Ok,  we just did another one this evening!   I made it a little more specific,   ALL ILLUSION!

I thought the prior ones were chaotic - I would have to say I spent most of this TF unable to see the mobs for all the illusions.  Very crazy. :)

Just a few observations:

-  Not quite as fast as I was expecting,  I guess without mass amounts of debuffs Illusion is somewhat average in its DPS. 

Took an hour and 15 minutes.   We had  5 incarnates and 2 people below level 50.

-  We had more deaths than I expected,  didn't really keep track of who - whether it was the lowbies or whatever, but I was honestly expecting the illusions to take all the aggro.

All in all though, it was a load of fun, though a bit hard on the optic nerves.   Thanks guys for joining. :)

Idea for the next one?  Maybe all Fire/Rad,  though I may loosen it up to just Fire/*.

Ran another one tonight.  I tried real hard to get an all FIRE team together, but just too many competing events going on, including a MSR.

I opened it up, and we ended up with the following powersets:

Doms:

Fire/Psi

Fire/Fire

 

Good representation of Fire, so not a total loss. :)   A solid 54 minute run, lots of fun!  Thanks to everyone who participated!

Much ICE and much DARKNESS on this run.  :)     I think everyone was incarnate except for the Ice/Cold,  so it went very smoothly - no deaths.

Carp, I keep missing these! You were looking for suggestions, I recommend and all /Stormie. Any primary, but all stormie is insaaaaaaane. Also, an all Grav/ would be fun. Floating baddies as far as the eye can see. Not to mention the Wormhole Wars! Wait, does teleport mag stack???

Probably not.  If I'm reading the CoD link correctly the target gains +10000% resistance to Teleport about 0.2 seconds after the Teleport itself.  I'm guessing you have to do some trickery to get it to stack Mag even some of the time.

 

And yes all Stormies is crazy fun.

Bummer. Still would be fun flinging Romans all over the place. I might even have to take my KB>KD proc out of WH and have full fun with it

😛  All Stormie is almost a guarantee for chaos, bodies everywhere.  When I did an all Storm ITF it was with Perfect Storms from the RO Network post IO but pre Incarnate and no KB to KD IOs.  So many Tornados and Lightning Storms running amok.

Just completed an all stormy ITF a few minutes ago.... mixed feelings about this run.   It was entertaining in terms of the chaos and whackiness, definitely an eyeball searer. :)

However, in terms of overall effectiveness, not so much.     The frequent usage of hurricane probably did not help with speed or with the Rom fight.   I've also noticed that in my defense

based builds, defense just doesn't seem to protect as much lately - has there been some kind of stealth nerf?  You would think with that many overlapping steamy mists, nothing could hit us.

 

Pretty slow run, especially because of the final fight against Rom.  After several tries and many deaths,  we finally had to settle on pulling him to the roof and

hover fighting him - everything else had him running around while the Nictus range nuked us.

 

Despite all that, we still had fun, and that's what is important after all.  Thanks to everyone who participated!  Group composition this time consisted of 5 trollers and 3 defenders:
