Punklich Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Strike or Slash? Which is better to take? Also, once taken (because you have to take one), do you even bother putting either in your attack rotation or just not slot it and leave it out to use better attacks?
Jaxman100 Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Slash is the 3rd power, I highly recommend it as it can take the Achilles Heel proc for -Resist. I usually just take either Swipe or Strike but not both based on which ever you prefer. Once you get a lot of recharge Slash, Follow Up, and Focus can be your single target attack chain. Then you can fill in with Spin and Shockwave. 3

Jaxman100 Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 For a final build, maybe/maybe not. Depends if I want another set bonus or not and how much recharge I have for a single target attack chain. Slash gets slotted with 5 Hetacomb and Achillees Heel Proc. Follow Up gets the (I think) Critical Strike Scrapper set so the following attacks have a better chance to Crit. Focus gets either Scrapper Strike, Apocalypse, or winter's Bite. Depending on the bonuses I want. Possibly only 5 slots for a set plus a proc. There are sets that give defense or recharge bonuses I might put in another melee attack. If not, the Crit Hit Bonus IO from Scrapper Strike is a good 1 slot option as it grants the bonus even if the attack it is in is not actively used. I can see if I have my Claw/WP build on the other PC later. Also if I plan to exemplar with the build I probably have at least a few slots in it.

Trying to draft up a Claws/WP and find myself short of slots if I throw any in the Tier1 attack. Only for muling purposes. Even on a WP character you might want to push your Smash/Defense up and four slotted with Kinetic Combat it helps getting there. Later on Follow-up, Focus and Slash is all you need. - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.

With the KB->KD proc, its really good mitigation too.
Jaxman100 Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 I use it a lot, but it can be endurance intensive in a long fight against an AV or whatever. But it is a great power.
Jaxman100 Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Well I went with S/L Defense and Resistance over recharge, so Swipe and Kick are 4 slotted with Kinetic Combat in this build. Probably a lot of room for tweaking, but plenty of 1 or 2 slot wonders. I took Spiritual for Alpha for recharge. I do sometimes take Intuition for the Range and Damage for Focus and Shockwave. 20% range can increase the total area a cone hits by about 40%. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1456;695;1390;HEX;| |78DA65944B4F13511886CF74A6D6D20BD4422960AFC8AD486901DDB82051D408141| |10C788B3894910E0C6DD31281A5FF40C1C485F78D0B35FE07B65E7F841B8DF19278| |5F98FA75DECF629C499B67E63DEF77DE33DF9C99CCFA88FBE9F1ABC342F21E31D47| |2796E3A5B528B45AD64CFA88B7A56D0E19E2AACA8D151753D3AA1AD394868FCEB99| |CB6886A625A970ADDC5A1347B4CB5ABEAC256775C32816D6B492704F160A46725C5| |38B7A7ED1635E1CD31773AB74E5C29551BDF499E727F257F4B23EAF1BFAEA86EF68| |51CF260F171636E6326A79552B6D0429BF93FEB9EA42CCA3228B49425C11B653CC2| |950990667AA5EC9F4DA45339D8414D1F35616224D7C0726DE837D711AEF2286C125| |079752AD744D313DCA7570D726730BDC7D83B96D13C2AF8859AA95912BCB5F317FD| |D37E60FD0FD135C26AF9D73EC77308FFB2EE8BDC7BC0F363C600EA3D6A05A87B9CA| |8ADD7109637B54E63CD898652E80010D3C4BB54EACD1E66C924CAD7F0CF3A67F0BB| |35701F2B8E0112ED3E31436D23CDC7F0FF7BF8FFBDFCFFDEFE7FE9F236FBD84F5D5| |3F426FC28F994FC0AE3164779D644E8079AAF5715F7CCFB0AEE073B0F505F325B8F| |715F3352853AD9FFBEFE7FE07B8FF41EE7BCF2F50216F137B9B1A901DF683D14626| |F7E73C799BB967CD9B36536BBF09EEDB02CF90A7051EA9A5BAD7424E91E6BD7681C| |6DA38AB8DB3A29C15E3AC1867B9C81BC2FD8BD02182228B226911EE496480730799| |4360E701E641E61B3C6F0FD5C679BE38675C24AD83B58E01AC7185B46ECEE8CE618| |E84CE5C02F72F330DE60A789AA6E845ADD47B0BCF377D1B7C489B26C97B2939837C| |2F65A5383FF5859FA1527BBFE947878828B5B7B892B08CA62C4ADAA20C5A94218B3| |26E512695DA174048A6E26CA0F71A4AE5431D8D4AFF8E7EDA51242986BB898DE26B| |F2D1E2FEBCA3D8A4FFF652FB773CB3B1446D4D953F9F54E7FF| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
MTeague Posted April 9, 2021 Posted April 9, 2021 I know Focus is a flat out better power. But I just don't like the idea of projecting out waves of force from claws. I skip both Focus and Shockwave (yes, yes, I'm Doing It Wrong(tm)....) and rely on Spin and Eviscerate for AE damage. Evisc also tends to join my single target attack chain because of enhanced crit chance. Roster: MTeague's characters: The Good, The Bad, and The Gold
