Inv/SS with Cross Punch

I have seen a lot of posts mentioning using Cross Punch for earlier AoE when building a Super Strength Character. I have not seen many primary builds. I believe the framework for this comes from Captain Infinitum, but it should be a viable build.

 

Interesting choices: Tough is not really needed for the resists, and because I took both Kick and Boxing to pump up Cross Punch, it is not needed in the final build to open up Weave.

 

I am going for as natural of a character as possible, while still enjoying a travel power. I took Super Jump, (hello Hulk), but Super Speed would have worked as well without the graphics. I am old so tend to run into walls when speeding through a cave. Sprint and Athletic Run are more than enough for me inside. Without Fly, this means that Infiltration serves to slot my 5th LotG, although one could make a serious case for Maneuvers, but I had no slots for it.

Comments are welcome regarding the build. I don't normally post with incarnate choices, but for this one I am planning Agility to flesh out the defense and Ageless Radial Epiphany to pump up the DDR.

I run an SS/Bio brute and yeah, I took Cross Punch and fully slotted it because it provided a second AoE attack to a powerset lacking a damaging second AoE.

 

As goes Super Speed, while it may not fit your natural theme, one perk Experimentation's Speed of Sound has over Super Speed is Jaunt for dealing with verticality issues.

 

Will take a look at the build in Mid's after I convert the link to a data chunk.

Edit: If you are not shooting for double Rage (which no longer avoids the crash in any event) you might be better served by moving a slot and the Recharge Reduction in it to Hasten. That way  you are only about 8 seconds short of perma-Hasten instead of the 15s you'd be short with only 2 Recharge Reductions in Hasten.

 

Also, Invisibility does not look like its legally placed.

I made my first tank (Inv/SS) and I've been following this build loosely (also natural inspired, but taking fly and laser beam eyes for character concept).  I've focused on the IOs for Inv power choices, and currently at level 36 I feel very, very tanky.  I haven't slotted out cross punch (or any attacks) yet, so my damage does feel a bit anemic, but I love the knockdown and right now it's my only AoE attack.  I think it'll fit right in next to foot stomp.

Here is my slotting for cross punch, all proc'd out. Double stacking rage helps the to-hit

I have 3 different builds, one is with procs for dmg/one for exemping/one for pure tanking but usually my cross punch stays slotted the same

Even with all the enhancements, I still think investing in a fully optioned CP is a waste of slots.
That's just me though.
Tried it on a rebuild once.
Got tight on slots and CP really didn't add much.
Also took a bite out of my overall survivability.

Two level 50 +5 recharge puts recharge at ED cap so a third slot adds nothing. Except when exemplaring since the +5 get 'nerfed' to +0 before even the scaling starts.
