Techwright Posted January 31, 2022 Share Posted January 31, 2022 Has there ever been, either in the original game, or Homecoming, a "Danger Room" scenario, for lack of a better phrase? (I think there's a specific name for it in gaming, but I've forgotten it, so I'm using a comic book reference.) That is, a room or instance where players enter and the goal is not survival to an end, but survival increasingly difficult waves for as long as possible. Start with a simple level one, gradually move towards levels where the sheer number of opponents, combined with their ranking will eventually overwhelm even the best players. I'm guessing if it existed, it was probably an AE creation. I realize culling hordes is what farming is, but I gather that has been tuned for quickly dispatching scores of opponents, not a survival scenario. In Legacy one of the devs was mucking about in the base code (which was a nightmare) and inadvertently activated the base defense items to attack anyone who entered. It wasn't like that for long, but some folks thought it was great fun. People have clamored for base raids since the Legacy devs shut it down and have asked HC to allow them as well, unfortunately with the base editing abilities that have been granted by devs it's not something that will be likely due to pathing. The only way I can see something like your danger room or base raids to happen is for a different version of bases to be implemented that would have their own set of rules and allowed functionality. 1 Dislike certain sounds? Not much of an issue with it even without accolades, Incarnates, or inspirs. Higher diff setting, and yeah, that thing will get ugly quick.
