This is my current Fire farm Rad/Fire.  Super durable. but after vet lvl 1100 im looking to change it up.  is there a way to get more damage out of this build? I know I went waaaaay overboard with end and health.  I can run active maps or afk for 30 min or 45 min and never have to worry.  I'm looking for a more active play style build with more damage.  I solo 99% of the time or I'm helping 1 other person PL.  I do not run large farm teams.  

 

Feel free to have your way with the build, Show me what can be done,  let me know your thoughts and cost in not a concern he has built quite the savings for this remodel.

I ended up respeccing mine so it could survive a bit longer on the new farm maps but even then it'll still get killed if 5+ mobs start to target it with ranged attacks and it has way more regen and hp. If your happy running the older maps with less xp/inf and your going to be fine but as soon as you run the updated ones you have to be pretty active with the heals if your sticking with mu epic. And for damage you have to because mu is still way out in front of the others. I still haven't found a way to keep mu in and get regen and hp high enough to make it a proper afk farmer i'm having to position it around corners to survive if i go afk for a long period and let the wandering mobs roam into me. Standing in the centre of the map is a death sentence. You have some odd slotting like the armageddon in atom smasher instead of burn and 6 slotted for a toxic/psi res bonus that makes no sense. If your running ageless then consume can be dropped. Anyway here's mine not sure it will help i doubt the dps is any better, its probably worse since i had to drop musculature for spiritual to boost the heal and recharge (shield walls are just there for the hp bonus i think i replaced the tp prot with a def/rech):

Thank you for the build help.  Feel free to make any changes or tweak's to powersets or picks.  Im not a very good out the box thinker and it just blows me away with some of the stuff people come up with that I would NEVER would have even thought to put tougher.  

I am looking for a more active build one that I want to have to actually play.  my current build is good afk and over time has gotten boring so instead of a respec I might to a Alt build so that I have a afk build that already works for me and then a active build for when im feeling board. 

Maybe I'm cheating but when I AFK more then 30 min I turn on my mouse auto clicker for my heal so now I have 2 powers on auto.  with that combination and your regen I think you could fix your Death Sentence issue.

I don't understand the Burn-summoning-multiple-patches bug ... can someone explain, since apparently it's being discussed with these changes?  Was it NOT happening on Brutes but only other ATs (Tanker, Blaster, Scapper)?  Did it happen every cast?

Its just a spin tactic certain folks are using for justification of changes they want to see implemented.  I keep seeing this same sort of "its a bug and we need to remove it" silliness on chats on the servers.   Same folks have also shifted their discussion to essentially revealing they want to see all procs removed from the game too (which isn't going to happen).

Yeah, its pretty obvious the FA/burn and irradiated changes are a round about way to nerf AE farming. The devs should just say so.

Hell, I play another game with an active dev staff for over a decade and that game has bugs rather easy to see. They reverted the increased recharge time to burn.

 

The real thing though that will affect a lot of maps and AE critters is the proposed changes have fire sword attacks doing -defense now, and a lot of farm maps have critters that attack with fire swords which will drop your fire resistance to negative really fast considering there's no DDR. This will cause AE maps to have to adjust to other attack types.

 

That said the change to irradiated ground was bound to come has it had been unintentionally double procing for years.

Current Burn does damage and then makes a patch of fire appear under each enemy in range. Since all the patches hit everyone it makes every enemy take damage from multiple patches. Then the mechanics also made damage procs fire a second time.

 

Now Burn does damage and then summons just one burn patch. Damage was upped to offset this and tests so far show that the AoE clear is almost the same as before (despite the doom and gloom). On the other hand the single target damage has suffered greatly with the difference between current and test server being about 50% less damage. For a character, not 50% less for Burn.

 

Beta testing is still ongoing so devs might still do something about this.

Excuse me, 18 + 1/2 years and yes, some of the proposed changes are not due to bugs but how things were designed to work, features, not bugs. Just because you don't like how something was designed or works, doesn't make it a bug.

Hasn't been around for 20 years?   Um, the game shut down the official live servers on August 31, 2012.   It'd have to be 2032 for your claim to be accurate on that.

 

That said, the rest, as mentioned already is simply your spinning things again.

All changes to this power have been reverted


Fiery Aura

 

Burn
While under the effect of Fiery Embrace, Burn will spawn a second burn patch for 4.5 seconds

 

 

So basically they're allowing a mini 2nd burn patch only when FE is up.

The way burn and irradiated ground patches work are not bugs and if they were, the game was around long enough for the devs, past and present to fix them. They are only being "fixed" now to address AE farming.

From what I've read, the Burn changes have only effected how Burn works as a ST DPS attack and the AOE is fine.

 

I know I logged into test and ran a fire farm on my Ice/Fire/Arctic Brute and did just fine.

 

I'd suspect better on survival (I didn't die before but still) due to the HP Buff with Consume and the +Regen with Temp Protection.

 

So, at this point, I would just have to ask, is all those buffs worth the ST DPS lose, and for normal PvE play, while I'm not 100% sure, I'm thinking maybe.

 

Still, I'd like more Cold Resist 😛

The changes for burn do affect both aoe and st due to the proc changes and the changes to the patches though the fiery embrace lil short 2nd patch helps lessen the change its not significantly impactful due fiery embrace not being able to use used in every attack chain nor even every mob group encountered due to the recharge time(even at 400% recharge with primary sets using recharge procs).
