Nudity in Game Removal Mod?

It would appear that at some point nudity became okay in this game since it is now an option in the costume options. Has anyone made a Mod to cover that up? There are kids that play this game and I for one don't want my kid seeing what my wife saw on her Moonfire run today.

 

How about it costume modders? Got anything?

I have never seen nudity other than the shirtless male tops. I know you can make a Tight costume but it is lackin the details that would make it "Nude". Females don't have any option that makes them appear completely nude.

 

Add a pic to prove me wrong and I'd agree but I mean a truely nude and not a nippleless tight costume.

 

However, if a topless male is offensive then I'd suggest never goin to the beach.

I’d be curious about some specifics because I doubt there is any option for “nudity” in costume customization. There has always been the option (going back to Live) to try to match skin tone with similar color to create the appearance of nudity but it essentially makes the character a Barbie doll. There is no anatomy that denotes nudity.

 

if you mean some of the skimpiest costume options, they also go back to Live though I do think the thong was a Homecoming addition.

 

Another possibility is that someone in your household added a mod to your computer that created client-side options that only you could see. I’ve heard tell that they are out there and I assume that if someone uses a mod to create a nude character then other folks with that same mod may also have the option but I don’t mod the game so I have no idea how it works.

If you mod the game, is it just not possible that a mod you have installed may be allowing you to see things that those of us who play vanilla unmodded Homecoming are not seeing? That seems more likely than they just slipped in nudity one day on a whim.

 

I am not saying you don’t know what your doing, just suggesting that something may be having unintended consequences. I still don’t know your definition of what constitutes nudity is so I’m just spitballing.

That is exactly possible and that is exactly what happened. So, the videotmaps mod has these two little gems added to it. Somebody down the line obviously thought it would be funny to add these nude mods to the videotmaps mod. Didn't take much to find it. I will be making @Michiyo aware of this, in case that mod also got transferred over to their mod tool as well. Not sure who the creator is, but it wouldn't take much to figure it out. To anyone interested in removing the mod, all you need to do is remove these two files listed below. The install location is Data\texture_library\PLAYERS\AVATAR\Female\Masks\Chest and the other location is Data\texture_library\PLAYERS\AVATAR\Female\Masks\Hips

 

 

So my mistake, it was not added in game, but since I knew damn well I didn't download any nudity mod, I didn't at first suspect that little gem that was slipped in to an otherwise harmless mod. To anyone who has downloaded the videotmaps mod, I suggest you check your mod for those two files.

Or not, check post above. Anyone who has downloaded the videotmaps mod most likely also has the mod. It was located on the Eden costume and bikini 3 option. So if you check those two costume options and find nudity, you know you have downloaded the extra mod within a mod.

I have the Vidiotmaps mod installed via City Mod Installer and both those parts are fine. Which Vidiotmaps mod are you using?

I'm using the one that used to be on ThePhiloticKnight's Mod Tool. I know that one was transferred over to the new mod tool, so I can only assume it is still there? I don't have the new mod tool, since I create my mods custom and don't use any mod tools these days, so I cannot verify. Disclaimer, PhiloticKnight would have had nothing to do with it, he simply provided a database for us to upload mods, so it would have been the creator of the mod that was uploaded to his mod tool.

So you're saying the mod you're using is technically no longer available for people to download and is not part of the current Vidiotmaps package?

As far as I was made aware, all mods from that tool were transferred over to the new mod tool. However, the person responsible for that mod could have very well removed that side-mod before it was transferred. That is the only guess that I can make. And to more directly answer your question, no, I do not have the current package since I am perfectly happy with the current one, minus that little gem that I discovered that is. I can only hope that version is no longer available. So those who have it would have had to download it a few months back before the shut down of the CoH Modder Tool, if what you say is correct in that those nasty files are no longer there. I'll take your word for it on that since I see no reason you would lie about it and you do know your way around the CoH files. So that is good to know.

I tried on those parts in the costume creator and they looked normal. I looked at the PIGG files installed by the vidiotmaps mod in City Mod Installer and there are no costume parts, just map files. No idea where those parts came from but they do not appear to be part of the current vidiotmaps package.

Actually, when my wife tested it out (she created a character using those styles) she had a guy send her a tell and ask her if she wanted to do an all nude team. Can post screen shots if you like, but I think it is safe to say several people have the mod, heh. Like me, I had the mod and didn't even know it. I thought it was a legit update costume piece...was appalled that the Devs would do that even, lol. Silly me, lol.

Actually, he knew and was very proud of it. So, after I saw that nude toon on the TF, I told Solar about it and he posted this post and told me that no one was believing him that this was a possibility. So I then created a character and searched for how this was done and i found the options and made the character. When I entered the game i asked a few people if my toon was nude to them. The first person responded, "no, not nude." i said ok ty. Then I asked another person and while they were responding to me I get a tell saying..."yummy, you look delicious." So I asked him is my toon nude? He said, "yes and I also have one, let me switch real quick and lets run some nude arcs together." When he switched and popped up in front of me it was that same toon from the TF. So, I said, "I saw you earlier and was just trying to figure out how I was seeing a nude toon."  I let him know I am not actually going to play this toon. He then gave me a sad face and was very disappointed about it. I then exited the game and Solar has found the issue as you can see.

There is a nude mod you can download. That was never in dispute. Solar was making it sound like it was part of the Homecoming release, which is isn't, and is why no one was believing him.

So while there might be people that inadvertently installed the nude mod as part of an older vidiotmaps package, those that are actively using it knowingly installed it.

The flip side to that are the people that just happen to use those costume pieces who don't realize others are going to see them as nude.

Yeah, I thought it was in game, like an addition by the Devs, which was what got me investigating. I knew if I showed screen shots it would not be enough, so what I did to eliminate the possibility that it was a mod, was removed the Data folder all together. Once that folder was removed from her PC, I had her log back in to see if that character still appeared nude...she did not. Once that happened, I knew the only other logical answer was that there was a mod on her PC...and mine. Once I knew for a fact that it was a mod, it only took me five minutes to locate it and remove it. So had you all not doubted me, I would have never been determined to get to the bottom of it. For once, it was a pleasure being wrong. I didn't like the thought of a rouge mod on my PC, but I disliked the thought that the Devs implemented nudity even less, heh.

Those files are not in the Vidiot packages installed via my tool.

As you can see there is no PLAYERS folder under texture library.  Their is a nude mod available in the tool, but it's clearly called out as such.
